My Main Problem With Biden (Aside From His Age)

I still sometimes think and act like I'm 27, but I'm 72. If I skip exercise for just one day, as I did yesterday, my body falls apart. Tonight, I had to walk a mile just to get loose. My hip constantly bothers me unless I take Aleve. I actually get tired at night. If I fall off my bike, it takes a few weeks to heal. Though I think my mental faculties are still pretty good, I did spend an hour a few days ago looking for glasses that were on the top of my head. Whether I like it or not, I'm old. Joe Biden is 80. Donald Trump is 77. Like me, they are past their expiration dates. Based solely on their age, I could never vote for either of them. While both of them can be likable, I have problems with their character. I'll spare you my analysis of Trump, which I've provided many times in the past. But I want to tell you why I dislike Biden as a person.

Biden has a granddaughter named Navy. She was fathered by Hunter, who was simultaneously seeing both Navy's mother and his brother's widow. He's a very classy guy, the kind who would try to use his father's public office to enrich himself.

I would never blame Joe Biden for Hunter's flaws. The sins of a son should not be visited on his father.

I do blame Joe Biden for making no effort to develop a relationship with his own granddaughter. A NY Post article notes that Joe Biden and wife laid out stockings at Christmas for their dog, but not his grandchild Navy. He brags about his six other grandchildren, but ignores her.

Just as he should bear no blame for his son's sins, nor should Navy bear any responsibility for how she got here. Biden's refusal to acknowledge his own blood is another reason why I'll never vote for him again.

You could only come up with Navy as a huge flaw for Biden? How about intimating that the truck driver involved in the accident that claimed the life of Biden’s first wife and daughter had a “liquid lunch” and was at fault (he wasn’t)? Biden told the liquid lunch story for years until the trucker’s children finally sent him a cease and desist. That is a glaring example of Biden’s relationship with the truth. And yes, Joe Biden needs to shoulder some of the blame for Hunter’s behavior, as well as the behavior of his and Jill’s daughter. He seemed to enable Hunter, while at the same time using him and, probably, ignoring him in favor of the heir apparent, Beau. Joe Biden has been bad news from the start and the best thing to happen to him was Donald Trump.

Totally agree with you. Biden claims to be a devout Christian, but shows no compassion toward his own granddaughter. He keeps saying he is "proud" of Hunter, a disgusting human being. But I guess that part of his demented son he isn't proud of.

My mother announced, after witnessing the impeachment proceeding against Clinton, that she was switching to a registered Democrat after being a Republican for 65 years. She found the behavior of the Republicans reprehensible. I was shocked, partly because she had been sexually assaulted as a child. I don't see personally the relevance of Biden's relationship or lack thereof with his granddaughter whether he is qualified as president.

Wow, so while it is indicative of Biden's character, His corrupt money taking and laundering are not a problem. His using his justice department to punish his adversaries and enemies is OK. His destroying of relations with half the world is not a problem. While you are correct in condemning his treatment of this poor unintended granddaughter, what about the rest of his failings.

Awesome, you are moving in the right direction Bernie !

Good for you for writing about this. A human doesn't get much lower and still claim human status. That's Biden, the devout Catholic. What a waste of human skin. What a true piece of excrement. Its no wonder his scummy kid is just as bad.

And what about his hero lies regarding his dead kid? He's repeated them continuously saying he was killed in Iraq. Lie.. outrageous valor-stealing lie.

Trump would not piss on you to put you out if you were on fire in a parking lot. Very likable, indeed.

"I would never blame Joe Biden for Hunter's flaws."--yet it seems you must advertise all of them.
"I do blame Joe Biden for making no effort to develop a relationship with his own granddaughter. A NY Post article "--And how does anyone know that.? Does Joe Biden have to do that on national tv? Joe might have reached out Quietly and got nowhere.
Is it possible the child's mother is the problem?--but that would defeat the whole attack Joe Biden through his kid theme so the Post would just forget to look into that.
As to whataboutism no one attacked any grandparents when Palin's kid pumped out children from various fathers.
Hunter and the child he fathered is being used as a club to attack Joe Biden--and to use that little girl for the purpose of attacking Joe Biden is pathetic.

Most of that appears to be unsubstantiated. While I would put nothing past a guy who simultaneously has a relationship with his dead brother's widow and another woman. He is selling "art" while his Daddy is President, and appears to have used his father's public positions to enrich himself. If he could squeeze $5 million out of someone I am sure he would. But I doubt Joe Biden took or would take a $5 million bribe. That is a bit over the top, and the accusation is based on what a confidential informant was told by an unnamed business Exec in Ukraine. In other words, it is double hearsay. It is also an old accusation. Did this accusation merit further investigation? Absolutely, and that is why a Trump-appointed US Attorney was kept in Delaware. Hunter Biden's lawyer says that investigation is ongoing, but the US Attorney states it continues. I would like some clarification. If the case is over, I think the DOJ should announce it, especially with all the increasingly accusations coming from a House Committee, Senator Grassley and Fox.

I do not share the venom I see from 5:39. But I have no respect for a person who makes no effort to forge a relationship with a little girl who happens to be his granddaughter. That's pretty low.

Fair enough-- yet how does anyone know whether or not Joe Biden tried and was rebuffed?
Must he air such a refusal via press conference?
And if he did then Joe Biden gets attacked for trying to force the mother of the child to bend to his will--so either way the bashing continues using the child.
Clearly giving Joe Biden any benefit of doubt is not allowed.

4:08- The Catholics hate the current Pope. They call him a woke snowflake. I should know, I hear them bash him every Sunday get together after they attend Mass.

They say, "He's not 'my' Pope". I try to explain that, He his your Pope as you're a Catholic, much like Trump was my President because I'm an American... whether I liked it or not.

Nothing speaks to the true character of Biden more than this. His son has nothing to do with the fact that Biden has a precious granddaughter who doesn't receive better treatment than the family dog. That's some really sick and twisted stuff. I couldn't think any less of him after his own daughter's statements about her upbringing. But this is still sad and maddening.

Bernie, with your newest declaration of righteousness you say you can't vote for Biden because he doesn't have a relationship with his grand-daughter. Does this mean you'll vote for Trump (expected to be the GOP nominee) who doesn't have a relationship with reality, or the Constitution?

Anonymous said...

Well, Biden never claimed to be perfect as a father, or making perfect phone calls, or adoring dictators. Tanman has exploited and exposed the worst possible models of parenting, fatherhood, and presidential protocol in the history of our world. It would take way more than a miracle to persuade
Any normal person to conclude that Mara Largo man is anything but a snake oil salesman.

Of course not. I would never vote for Trump and I will not vote for Biden either. I was never thrilled by him. He clearly is past his prime, although those who call him senile are definitely mistaken. He has never been particularly truthful. I thought, however, that he was a basically decent guy. His refusal to recognize his own granddaughter seals it for me. Hard to believe we have such lousy choices.

You’re wrong on this one, Bernie. I’m disappointed that the democrats didn’t fire up a younger crowd for the primary, and it sure wasn’t going to be Harris, but Biden has taken the office of POTUS from chaos to some order. You may not like the order but he’s not playing golf rather than tending to the office. And there is no way that I would be responsible for my kids illegitimate kids, or even legitimate kids. I can fuss over them, love them, but it is their parents responsibility to bring them up. I may feel I’ve failed in some ways, but I’ve watched relatives and friends fill the gaps in their child’s parenting and it never ends well. I can love them, but I won’t make them dependent upon me, and I wouldn’t want them dining on my reputation.

Bernie should take Joe’s place as Navy’s Grandfather =learn how to ride a bicycle and prep her down the road for law school.

Damm Bernie you seem to be a horse of a different color for the minor infraction of a moral compass? With all the goings on of this administration you seem to be lean a little to the right of center. Now you are going to become one 9f them librarians with these two articles.

In regards to choosing between Biden Or Trump..
For the first time I may not vote for either party's candidate. It seems Washington politics is alienating the very people it's suppose to represent. Those politically inclined spend most of their efforts trying to destroy one another. Seems they forgot why they are suppose to be there. At this point congress, the Supremes and the oval office are only there to serve themselves. I'm disgusted like never before. Those who have common sense and would make best the candidates wouldn't be stupid enough to go near the place.

It's almost as if Washington D.C. has become a country unto itself.

well, the best way to determine the facts concerning biden's bribery, graft and money laundering is with an impeachment trial.

Does the part where he repeats and repeats that his son died in Iraq bother you? He's an endless deferment guy attempting to steal military valor via his cancer victim son. What kind of a person does this? Have I missed something?

5:39- WTH do you know about being a devout Catholic, you hypocritical, forked-toungued no-nothing! A waste of skin, you post? I wouldn't even say that about Trump and I despise Trump. I do find some, though very little, value in that narcissistic, treasonous autocrat.

Trump got the Catholic vote. Why? Because people like you are "devout".

Does this sound like trump...or you?

Blessed are the poor in spirit...(Narcissism)

Blessed are the meek...(Arrogant, Haughty, a Petulant man-child)

Blessed are those that mourn...(Really? Trump understands social issues and social injustice? Poverty, Homelessness, racial discrimination, healthcare inequality, homophobia?)

Blessed are those that hunger and thirst...(Trump hasn't turned down a Super size Big Mac meal since the 80's. Actually, this means a strong and continuous desire of progress in religious and moral perfection)

Blessed are the merciful...(This simply mean to be kind to everyone in every situation.)

Blessed are the clean of Heart...(Hoofah, where to even begin...)

Blessed are the peacemakers...(Bejing Biden, Crooked Hillary, Little Marco, Crazy Cheney, Lying Ted, Psycho Joe, Horseface, Disgusting Pig...)

Allow me to continue, Miss Devout...what about the 7 deadly sins of which Trump adheres...

Pride? Trump is extremely conceited and a megalomatic narcissist. Envy? Wrath? Pffff Glutony? The man looks like a beached whale. Lust? Grabs 'em by the... Sloth? Ok, trump is not a sloth. He does work constantly. Greed? Gives tax breaks to himself and other Billionaires.

Devout Catholics no longer care about right or wrong, as long as they get their way.

Devout Catholics have forgotten how to be Christian. They went from saving other's souls to trying to prove how right they are about everything.

Signed,

A Devout Athiest

I'm in full agreement with the moderator. In fact, as a registered Democrat, I'll vote for a candidate from either party if its a qualified candidate male or female who is in their 40s or 50s. I'd also like to see a running mate that is equally younger, smart and competent who will be more involved. I'm so disappointed by Kamala Harris, a mixed race female in her prime who seems to have so much potential yet who appears to do so little.

From the original post: "Biden's refusal to acknowledge his own blood is another reason why I'll never vote for him again."

Two predictions:

1) Like a good politician, Joe will be forced (politically) to do the right thing, at least publicly. This will win back the voters who mistakenly believe this is the worst thing about Biden.

2) By election time, BOH will obey his democrat overlords and find something horribly wrong with the Republican candidate (whoever it is), letting us all know that this supersedes any failings of Biden and that BOH will (and we should) therefore vote for Biden.

I totally agree. I think it's pretty rotten how they have treated this child. It smacks of elitism at it's finest. It also tells me what kind of people they really are. My personal take is that Jill calls the shots on all this.

I also agree about being leery of the bribe allegations, however, Biden did lie about not ever meeting any of Hunters business partners. There are actually pictures of Biden with these people so that was a total lie. Tony Bobulinski seems credible to me, and the e-mails that state "10% for the Big Guy", well, if you take the totality of the circumstances together, there is definitely some smoke there. Where there is smoke there is fire so they say.

Republicans and Democrats in Congress act as opposing parties, yet they always work together to keep their personal power and greed ongoing. Special favors and money laundering come first, not average citizens. As a result, America has fallen. Willful ignorance of corruption and lies is not going to bring us back. Oh, I’ll continue to vote . . . just not for anyone currently in office.

"While Roberts, of Arkansas, wants the Biden family to “remain estranged” from her daughter, she filed a motion in court requesting her child to bear the Biden name on Dec. 27.

Child support was settled in March of 2020 and the Mom was not interested in have the child using the last name of Biden.
Yet Dec 2022 all of a sudden the attorney files to do so.
While looking for better support.
Seems the Mom wants to keep the daughter away from the grandparents.
This somehow is Joe Biden's fault?
Quite possible Joe Biden reached out and was denied any involvement with the child.

6:08 BOH. I believe the child’s mom has petitioned the court to use the Biden surname but I could be wrong. Imagine the doors that would open for her just by that alone. It’s disgraceful the Biden’s are acting this way.
