NorCo Offering Vaccines at Drive-Thru Testing Center

As soon as Covid-19 tests became readily available, Northampton County established a drive-through Covid-19 testing center. Now, you can get vaccinated there as well.

This testing and vaccination center is located at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Coordinated Health Allentown Hospital (LVH-CHA). This is located at 3100 Emrick Boulevard in Bethlehem Township with hours of operation of Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 10:00AM – 2:00PM and Tuesday/Thursday from 3:00PM – 6:00PM.

You need an appointment for a vaccine. You have three options:

  1. Schedule at the LVHN website at LVHN.org/appointments.
  2. Schedule on the MyLVHN patient portal, at MyLVHN.org.
  3. Call 833-584-6283 (833-LVHN-CVD). The COVID-19 Vaccine Hotline is open Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m. and Saturday-Sunday 9 a.m.-5 p.m.

According to Executive Lamont McClure, drive-throughs are very convenient, especially for anyone with a mobility problem.

Two vaccines - Moderna and the single dose Johnson and Johnson - are being offered.

Republican Executive candidate Steve Lynch has blasted vaccines, asserting the virus was created by the government so they can force you to submit to DNA-altering inoculations. This is highly irresponsible. People who listen to him could die.

McClure has a different take. "Vaccines have the power to save both lives and livelihoods and Northampton County is committed to making sure our residents have every opportunity to get vaccinated.”

As the number of vaccinated people has increased in NorCo, new Covid-19 cases have plummeted. I'm no epidemiologist, but it certainly appears the vaccine is working.

It's certainly working at Gracedale, where new Covid-19 cases have vanished. I hate to think what the death toll would be at our nursing home if an anti-masker and anti-vaxer like Lynch were running the county.

I appreciate the efforts of Northampton County to address COVID related issues. Last year I used the well organized testing site on Emerick Blvd while my friend in nearby Warren County struggled to find a testing site. But I am curious. How successful were they at Gracedale in getting eligible staff vaccinated? I have read articles about other nursing homes in other areas struggling with new infections thought to be from unvaccinated staff. How sad that family members long denied visits with loved ones follow all protocols and get vaccinated and having facilities shut down for visits because of new infections. I know we don't have enough answers on this virus yet, but I think, if you work with the elderly and are eligible to get vaccine and chose not to, that is akin to elder abuse. Find another line of work till we have better research. Sorry, I know somewhat off topic. And thanks again to Northampton County.

I do not have the data at this time, but the rate of vaccination at Gracedale is substantially higher than at other nursing homes.

The link at 5:05 indicates that the Delta Covid variant seen in both the UK and India is more virulent and deadly than other strains. The vaccines have been effective against this strain. But if you prefer listening to some poorly informed demagogue who thinks the government actually created this virus so it can control you, be my guest.

Believe what you want about this Covid situation and the worth of these injections, but the evidence of efficacy is STILL too sketchy for my comfort. Also know, my wife and I did receive both Moderna injections given at Dorney Park by LVH. With no complications, thankfully.
For those not aware, because their favorite news source won’t touch it, Dr. Fauci’s credibility is under heavy doubt. Dr. Rand Paul and others believe his tainted guidance could very well be criminal, beyond just proof of regular lying.
I do not plan to take any suggested booster shots.

DR. Rand Paul? I didn't know that eye doctors were experts in communicable diseases. He does excel at being obstreperous, maybe he can get a degree for that?

So you'd rather take the opinion of a non practicing eye doctor over someone who spent their entire life in the field researching diseases and epidemiology?

@8:52 - Why do you accept "Doctor" Rand Paul's opinion over Fauci's? Maybe other news sources won't touch it, because it lacks strong facts and reasoning? Maybe Paul's attack is agenda driven? Why do you believe an eye doctor with 18 years experience over a specialist in immunology with over 50 years experience? Do you frequently ask your plumber to fix your wife's car? Just trying to see where you're coming from when you cite your concerns.

That said, since I've received my vaccine, I have noticed that my skin has become slightly magnetic and that my AM radio increases static when I get close to it...

8:52 needs to come back here and admit that he has been duped and misguided yet again by his favorite news source.

This is 8:52. I am NOT an Anti-Vaxer. I take the annual Flu Shot, and now, the latest, upgraded Shingles vaccine. I didn’t begin as anti-Covid-19 Vaxer, obviously. As I became more familiar with this entire episode, I became an Anti-covid-19 Vaxer. No hypocrisy there.

By the way, Rand Paul is one of our nation’s most respected medical professionals. He still does practice, but very rarely. His specialty might be “eye surgery,” but that includes great knowledge of the effect of medications of this type, particularly experimental emergency-use authorized medicines found within these Covid 19 injections.

There are numerous immunology experts worldwide who share Rand Paul’s view. Probably why the further administration of THIS injection sequence has waned in public interest.

Now that my body is fully magnetized, I don't have to call AAA anymore as my key's are either in the ignition or on my forehead!

Bernie, I would be curious if you could get the number of people getting the vaccine via the county? Last I heard 50% of adults in the states have the vaccine. I'm hoping we can hit a high percentage of vaccinated people. Thanks!

8:52 here. Each reader can believe whatever they want. I’m just glad to be able to express my findings here. Doubters and other curious posters need to do their own research, as knowledge SHOULD be gained. The points I made are easy to research by those with an open mind. Audio/Video/Print, whatever you prefer. It’s right there!, but it takes a little effort.

This is another joke you are making, Correct?

He is an EYE Dr. who doesn't even practice, wake up

So the standard some are espousing here is that primary experts in technical and scientific areas should be given free reign, and congressional critters who don’t have the same expertise shouldn’t be allowed to express doubts about their performance.

Now I understand why all those Boeng guys we so upset when they were pestered by all those know-nothing questioners about that Boeng Max thingie. After all, how many in Congress have degrees in aeronautical engineering?

Using this apparent prevailing standard, what questions should congressional non-practicing bartenders and senatorial non-practicing college professors be “allowed” to ask?

Perhaps read about fauci telling people who had covid to get vaccinated. Now as any medical physician knows natural immunity is just as good. Unfortunately they are seeing negative findings associated with some who had covid and then got vacinatted because CDC said to get the vaccine

The comments about the insurrectionist who was shot are irrelevant to this story.

Bernie, can you please tell commenters to make these hyperlinks? I'm not going to go and retype this in a search bar.

That doesn't mean he is ethical or credible.

Everybody loves a conspiracy theory. The anti-vaxxers like Lynch seem to have conveniently forgotten Trump, their false God who bullshitted his minions with the idea of him being naturally immune, received the vaccine in secret. That alone should tell the idiots that the vaccine is not a chip implanting, mind controlling conspiracy. The vaccine has saved lives and works. Obviously.

8:52/1:48 -
"Each reader can believe whatever they want." That statement there is a fact, however, "Belief" itself doesn't make it right or factual.

"I’m just glad to be able to express my findings here." Part of our problem as a society is everyone with an opinion can share it, where it then gets misconstrued by soft brained individuals as actual legitimate fact - 'cause they read it on the internet.

"Doubters and other curious posters need to do their own research, as knowledge SHOULD be gained. The points I made are easy to research by those with an open mind. Audio/Video/Print, whatever you prefer. It’s right there!, but it takes a little effort." Again - if your research is faulty, your sources are incorrect or misinterpreted or outright fraudulent, what have you actually learned? Then worse off, you go on to spew and amplify the wrong and potentially dangerous conclusions to others.

While I am positive you are a smart individual, as is Dr Rand Paul - Just leave science talk, research and findings to the people who have studied the subject in great depth and detail for 4 years in college, then another 4-8 years of medical and doctorate work in hospitals and research facilities, who have published peer reviewed and critiqued dissertations on topics/subjects that they've invested and worked in the field on for years on end.

I am not in a position to know if Rand Paul is respected as a physician, but you are wrong to suggest he does not still practice. In fact, prior to the pandemic, he regularly volunteered to perform eye surgery on those who cannot get care. Both in Central America and his home state of Kentucky (and for children).

You do not have to like him, but get basic facts correct.
