Both Lehigh and NorCo Courts Declare Judicial Emergency

President Judges Michael Koury Jr. (Northampton) and Edward Reibman (Lehigh) have both declared judicial emergencies under which most proceedings have been put on hold. The Courts will continue to hear emergencies, or what they term "essential judicial services." The reason for these Orders is to minimize the spread of Covid-19.

Both courts will remain open.

Although Lehigh County's Courthouse remains open, the government center at 7th and Hamilton is closed to the public. Northampton County government remains very much open. In fact, I walked in on a cabinet member today who was discussing efforts being made to provide tents, sanitation and gathering places for the homeless. Bethlehem and Allentown City governments are also open. Easton has closed its doors to the public it ostensibly serves.

With the Lehigh County Court continuing the Naturalization ceremony to July 1 which I in the past participated as a representative of the Allentown Flag Day Association, my active schedule in person is now wiped out because of the CorneaVirus 19 pandemic dilemma. No Kiwanis, No Church, No Leonard Buck Banquet, No Essay Contest Coordination for the Steelworker because of the uncertainty when kids get back to school and how they would obtain messages about writing essays. I will indeed by electronic media participate in the Carbon County Governance Council and the Chapters Assembly and Committee of the National Space Society … But For the NSS it is unclear that its annual International Space Development Conference in Dallas Texas in late May, might not be held. Talk is that if it is held it would be an webinair … Buzz Aldren as a Board of Governor Member for the NSS generally is present for such conferences but people are concerned that in his 90's it would be a extreme risk for him to come due to the current pandemic... And indeed, any trips I may be planning overseas for Early Summer are in limbo … Deposits already had to be made on the trip and even if one had trip cancelation insurance , insurance companies may not honor these contracts because of the pandemic … If the provider cancels, it is only out of their good will that all or part of the deposit would be returned... And besides don't want to go to a place where because of my age I would immediately have to hunker down into a hotel or motel without seeing anything except if the place I would hunker down is one of the British royalties castles and residences … But surely, that won't happen.

This is just so the criminal counterparts are allowed to do unjust acts against the American people.

The city of Easton and it’s mayor Sal Panto have instituted reasonable changes amid a global epidemic, but of course you being the ignorant bastard that you are you don’t see it that way. You must be one miserable human being. Is Sal your next target? Are you now going to start repeating the same mantra over and over again regarding Easton's local government in your pathetic column? Why don’t you concentrate on your impending weight gain instead of spewing your poisonous pen before you weigh more than a thirty cubic yard dumpster.

I read that DJ Yetter was able to arraign the CVS robber (alleged robber, I guess) by a video app on the county-issued cell phone. Wonder if he thanked Judge Koury for allowing that or if he continued to whine about the cell phone order. Was never a huge fan, but the judge is beginning to win me over because he seems to have a clue.

I have completed faith in local government.

11:48 is criminal defendant Tricia Mezzacappa, who is about to become an Easton resident. But it will be at the jail.
