Pawlowski's Revenge

If someone is convicted of embezzlement at a bank, you don't let him continue to work there until he is sentenced. But Allentown Mayor Edwin "Fed Ed" Pawlowski, found guilt of 47 counts of political corruption, is still in control at a city where he dispensed contracts and other favors to those who helped his political future. He was expected to resign before a status conference on Friday, but since that has been canceled, he may have decided to stay in office a few days longer. I am deeply concerned that he will use these few days to take his revenge, and in a way that hurts city residents.

As I write this story, Governor Tom Wolf has declared a state of emergency. Bethlehem, Easton and most municipalities have declared snow emergencies. But despite predictions that a foot of snow is on the way, Fed Ed refuses to call a snow emergency.

One of his Facebook readers posted this remark: "Translation: I spent the snow budget on lawyers."

Fed Ed has to know that his refusal or delay in calling a snow emergency is only going to make things worse for city residents and workers once the snow starts coming down hard. Allentown residents can only hope that the snowfall is less than what was predicted and that forecasters are as wrong as they were last week.

He really needs to go.

He did the same thing in the big storm in 2014.

He is not a christian as what has been said but he is sinister and evil.

He should well know that his refusal to call the snow emergency will reach the Philly Judge and that wont look good for him.

Even if there is some sort of deal that he remains as Mayor until OFFICIAL sentencing, what kind of city manager can he possibly be? His mind will be on OTHER matters. The citizens lose again! Who can explain how he can possibly spend no time in prison? I cant.

Just out of pure luck, the storm is pretty much a bust in the Allentown area so he’s actually going to get away with it this time.

Even if the storm turns out to be a bust, his actions were extremely irresponsible and insensitive to the community.

Ed loves Jesus and the little people.
“The meek shall inherit the earth.”
Only Our Lord and Savior can sit in judgement over his pious servent.

The Allentown Human Rights Commission is going to bat for Mayor Pawlowski.
God bless them!

When you are the Mayor you get to make the tough call.
Mayor Pawlowski is the decider.

Anyone check to see if he's he paying his legal team with gift cards?

Speaking of cards, is the weekly poker game with Alan Jennings and selected insiders still an ongoing event?

They're reporting he's resigning tomorrow after all.I'm happy but I worry that he may try to harm himself either now or before he begins his sentence. I hope we don't see that. Anyone who knows about him knows that, crook or no, his whole identity us tied to his office. Now that he sees that definitely ending soon he must be suffering a real existential crisis.

What snow?

@5:32, save the taxpayers expenses if he does.

I hope he lives to serve every day of a long long sentence.

@5:32
A little melodramatic don’t you think?
I don’t take anything you say too seriously.

As long as the welfare checks and booze joints are open, Allentown will survive. The truth hurts.

@6:32
Apparently you’re not paying attention, or you’re a dope.
Robert T. called the over 40 felony convictions when other “knowledgeable legal authorities” were still claiming Pawlowski could walk.
Perhaps paying attention would be in your best interest.

Wah wah, you reap what you sow. If he’s as devout as he claims to be he can place his faith in the Lord to get him through. People, stop feeling sorry for this guy!

Your comment is both OT and an anonymous personal attack on an ex-county employee. You need to sign your name if you want to accuse someone of a crime so you can defend the libel suit.
