From Bethlehem: Starting at dawn on Saturday, September 5th, 2015 officers will be stationed at each entrance to the park in order to prevent entrance to the park. This policy will be enforced through the weekend and until dusk on Monday, September 7th, 2015 at which point normal park operations will resume throughout the week. Starting at dawn on Saturday, September 14, 2015, the park will be open only to pavilion permit holders and their guests through the weekend. For the remainder of the picnic season, the park will be open from dawn until dusk during the week and open only to permit holders on the weekends. Anyone interested in renting a pavilion call the number below or access the city’s website at www.bethlehem-pa.gov.
We appreciate your cooperation and understanding as we continue to address the ongoing situation in Saucon Park.

Great news for Bethlehem's taxpayers.The elected officials listened to sound advice and reversed the residents only policy saving unknown legal fees
I guess Johnny Morganelli and Bobby D had lunch and Johnny rethunk his plan. Yes, I misspelled on purpose. You all know who pulls Bobby's strings
Smart move.
I don't want to hear any short jokes.

7:00,
agree totally
9:08,
smart move? no - his only move after his first stupid one. Must have forgot to call jm before he blundered out of his office along with shorty
This may very well be in the national news by the end of the weekend.
Typical kneejerk reaction from Donchez. A few people complain and he panics,now he had to reverse himself and no one will be happy because the residents are now denigned the use of the park on Labor Day weekend. Our tax dollars at work. We now have to pay police to stand guard all weekend and protect the park from the residents! What a mess he has created.
Donchez could not lead his way out of a wet paper bag.
Great move Mayor now maybe we can get our parks back to the residence of the city.
@10:25,
"denigned"? wtf? Perhaps "denied"?
@11:13,
residence = a dwelling or home
residents = people who live somewhere.
It is painful to read posts by the illiterate.
r u taking notes wee willie. this is not how to govern
I can't wait to read about how many buses were turned away. Whoever is running these day trips must be making a hefty profit. A 48 passenger bus costs over $1K to charter. I wonder what the passengers are paying, and won't they be pissed when they are denied access?

I disagree re Donchez' leadership. I believe something needed to be done about the park, and it was. I believe the permanent answer is that the city should close parks to residents and nonresidents alike once they are at capacity.
BO believes - therefore it must be the holy truth. What a loser this fat drunk is.
Once again Bobby boy can't make a decision. It will change again by tomorrow. How can you close a public park that is paid for by the citizens of Bethlehem. This park was also state funded for repairs. Love or hate Callahan at least he made a decision and stuck to his guns. This is what happens when you have a Mayor that has no b---s and is told what to do. We are stuck with him for two more years.
I have been suggesting on social media that these out-of-town slobs be directed into the City of Easton. Nevin Park is a great place to have a big party. They can wash diapers in the new fountain and set up speakers to hear their loud music. Might I also suggest downtown Easton on weekends, especially during the farmers market on Saturday. Go ahead and set up camp in the circle. And I am sure the local restaurants will have no problem with using their restrooms, just don't shit on the toilet seat.The big fountain in the circle would make a great urinal. The city administration might even hand out drivers licenses.Come on down.
5:41 Callahan never made a call on Saucon, just ignored it. Saucon problem is not new, it's been festering for years now. Donchez it tackling it. Thank you for that.
