Join The Wolf Pack
Northampton County DA John Morganelli is forced to deal with lots of low-lifes on a daily basis. I'm not talking about criminals, but bottom-feeding bloggers like me. He can hide in his office, but eventually, he has to leave. That's when I nail him.
He's about to have one friend who looks like he's headed to high places.
Tom Wolf will almost certainly be the Democratic nominee for Governor tomorrow. The Lehigh Valley politician has been encouraging him to run since 2012? Northampton County DA John Morganelli. In fact, he was the ONLY Lehigh Valley politician to jump on the Wolf Bandwagon early, when he was at 0%.
Over the protests of many, Morganelli convinced Bethlehem Mayor Bob Donchez to join him in endorsing Wolf. Allentown Mayor Ed Pawlowski, who wanted to be Governor himself, eventually went with Rob McCord, along with most of LV Labor. Easton Mayor Sal Panto is dancing with McCord and turned down an invite to join Morganelli and Donchez to endorse Wolf.
Morganelli also raised $10,000 for Wold during an April fundraiser at his home.
Tonight, Morganelli and Donchez have been invited to Wolf's HQs in York, where he will await the election tally.

Bernie, Sal Panto has said he backs Wolf on Facebook. He has a sign out front too.
Panto had in fact supported McCord. Once he saw the handwriting on the wall, he flipped to Wolf. He is known for that and has done it before.
Party insiders are well aware of his tendencies.
I think you meant to say that JM tightened BD's puppet strings
Rich, I vaguely recall he may have switched. I looked for an endorsement and the only one I found was for McCord. He refused to endorse with Morganelli.
Just saw Sal's Facebook post, dated May 15, stating he supports Wolf. Not exactly thrilled with the way he handles this. I know for a fact he refused to support earlier, but the support that counts is the support coming today.
Sal knew and knows that Wolf is a rotten guy and sure loser. He simply raised more money, faster. That's politics. The photo of two statewide jokes is foretelling. Supporting a 10% extraction tax indicates a guy who's never been to western PA and clearly missed the trade laborers rallying against the tax in Harrisburg a couple of weeks ago. The only candidate in this area who seems to get this is Scott Parsons, a working man. Easy win in November for Corbett. In a state where we re-elect our governors and switch parties in the office every eight years, Wolf is a gift to Corbett's campaign., which looked vulnerable until Wolf emerged from a nasty Democratic campaign.
"Wolf is a gift to Corbett's campaign"
wow. you really know.....nothing.
Panto connections:
Gone with the wind - Blowin with the wind - Bandwagon jumper - 2 faced politician. Yes, I mean no.
Bernie, are you sure about this? I thought Donchez and Morganelli endorsed Pawlowski the day he announced for governor.
Wolf = higher taxes for all Pennsylvanians .
McCord=higher taxes for all Pennsylvanians.
Schwartz is a Baby killer.
McGinty ....Naaaahhhh
Another 4 years of Corbett works for me.
John, I am sure.
I stand corrected Bernie (and not only by you my phone blew up with texts...now i know several more people people pay closer attenton to Ramblings than want to admit it).
Morganelli clearly was on board with Wolf earlier than early. In fact I appear to have some old emails from him inviting me to Wolf stuff even before I got to know him personally last spring. (Morganelli that is.)
The Mayor on the other hand has now endorsed 3/5ths of the field at one time or the other: Pawlowsky, then McCord, and now Wolf. One of the pretend non-Rambling readers texted me this link: http://articles.philly.com/2014-02-05/news/47009378_1_mayor-pawlowski-news-conference-john-hanger.
And its worth noting that he's endorsed all the male candidates at one time or another and none of the female candidates. Maybe you want to touch base with Anne Evans and see if she thinks thats offensive to all the women of Bethlehem.
John, you are doing two things here. First, you are attacking a woman I don't know for exercising her right to address Council. Second, you are really stretching for an excuse to attack Donchez.
One other point. Donchez did endorse Pawlowski, proving that he is not a Morganelli puppet. After Pawlowski withdrew, he endorsed Wolf.he never endorsed McCord.
Sal and Ed endorsed McCord, who called Wolf on his support of a racist. They knew what they were doing at the time and their convenient change of support rings hollow.
Hold the phone, Bernie: I am not criticizing Bob Donchez I am criticizing your coverage both today and in the past few weeks.
I have not said one word of criticism of Mayor Donchez online or anywhere for that matter since he's taken office, or even since after primary election night last year. I am a firm believer that theres a time to campaign and a time to govern and they are separate things.
But what you're doing here is trying to sneak a curveball past everyone because everyone knows he and Morganelli are very close friends you're trying to make it look like both of them backed Wolf early on and thats just not true. And frankly its not fair to Morganelli!
My coverage, to which you take exception notes that John was the ONLY LV pol to support Wolf from the onset. That is hardly an indication that Donchez was an early supporter. Quite the opposite. You inaccurately claim that Donchez endorsed McCord and slam a woman for daring to take Council to task. As for my coverage in recent weeks, it has exposed a phony on Council who engaged in blatant conflicts of interest. It has exposed the bullshit with Diana Morganelli. And I'll be there tomorrow. My coverage has been accurate and necessary. I don't really give a shit if it bothers you.
I don't know what will happen today but I've never seen one party run an add in a primary against the other party as Corbett has against Wolf. They are obviously afraid of him. I was on the fence between Wolf and McCord until McCord ran the negative ads on Wolf. McKinty ran the cleanest campaign I hope she runs against Toomey.
I've told you before I personally believe Mrs. Morganelli is qualified. And I do feel bad for her that she's had to put up with all this publicity but this is only a stillstory because you and the papers keep blowing life into it.
I still dont know who Anne Evans is but I dont think she believed herself to be speaking on behalf of every woman in Bethlehem as you have portrayed this.
Leaving aside your ongoing issues with Councilman Dolan, you have taken advantage of this whole thing to try to intimidate to newcomers to politics who are both under 40 and are not career politicians. Those are supposed to be the kind of people we all agree we need more of but then they have to deal with ad hominem attacks like this and they dont continue. Waldron had a legitimate policy concern behind his commments which I agree were inartful and he's been more than sufficiently dragged through the mud over.
As for todays post you attempted to imply that Donchez and Morganelli had both been with Wolf from the start. You are too good a writer to be claiming that was an accident.
Im hoping to be there myslef tomorrow night and you can swear at me in person, but for nowyou'll have to fight with yourself because I'm on my way to canvass for Dave Henderson in the 194th down in Manayunk and Lower Merion if i can still get there in time. People should check him out he's another great young person willing to subject themselves to all sorts of abuse to run for office. You can check him out at: http://electhenderson.com/
You obviously did not read my post very closely. Let me state again, for the third time, that Morganelli was the only local pol to openly endorse Wolf at first. It is completely illogical to conclude from this that I was deceptively creating the impression that Donchez was an early supporter . I made no such statement, but you erroneously claimed that Donchez had endorsed McCord.
As for my criticism of two elected officials, it was well deserved. It was expanded upon by Bill White. If they don't like criticism, they should resign
Does Morganelli have a drinking problem? His nose is always red
Corbett ads are a head start in light of Wolf's coronation. It's a rare opportunity to damage the other guy early while people are paying attention as they won't be for another five months. Wolf should tell PA union trades workers why he wants to kill their jobs. They just rallied against the extraction taxers in Harrisburg two weeks ago. USA Today ran a great story about the problem this creates for PA Democrats. He's clearly out of touch and his candidacy is a gift to once vulnerable Corbett. Your annoyance is proof of this. Remember, Ed Spendell let fracking run like the wild west in PA. Corbett signed restrictions and ran afoul of energy producers, who soon realized they have nowhere to go except to job killing Democrats.
"Does Morganelli have a drinking problem. His nose is always red"
John has no drinking problem, but that's the kind of attack I have grown to expect from anonymous cowards.
"Corbett ads are a head start in light of Wolf's coronation. It's a rare opportunity to damage the other guy"
Who's afraid of the Big Bad Wolf?
have you seen morganelli lately at the edge or apollo? I think you might have a different opinnon BO.
Mezzacappa, Stop coming on her anonymously to attack people. Mmk?
You should be re-financing your home so you can pay my verdict.
Take your verdict and shove it up your ass, that is if you can reach that far , fat fuck
I am going to take my verdict and take everything you have, starting with your guns.
Tom Wolf crushed his rivals for the Democratic nomination for governor... John Blankstein seems most correct in his observations.
Corbett is going to be a speed bump on the road to Wolf's coronation but not roadblock.
Wolf seems ok but nowhere does he address the legalization of marijuana. McCord did.
Sal knew and knows that Wolf is a rotten guy and sure loser. He simply raised more money, faster. That's politics. The photo of two statewide jokes is foretelling. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you a textbook case of clinical delusion.

So, in your imaginary world, the hydraulic fracturers will just pick up and leave the cash in the ground because of a tax? You are fucking insane.
