Northampton County Council Democrats started the new year by letting politics interfere with good government. They voted to install Kerry Myers as Council President knowing he has a penchant for foul language and loves to hear himself talk almost as much as Ron Heckman and Tara Zrinski are in love with the sound of their voices. They elected him even though he asks questions that have already been answered and will often participate by phone even though he is retired and at home. They chose the worst possible Council member as President because they wanted to give him a talking point in his race for re-election. Myers started things off with a Sunshine Act violation when he failed to ensure that the agenda was online 24 hours in advance of his first real meeting. A the last meeting, he phoned in. Ron Heckman had to preside. Now comes the icing on the cake. There is credible evidence that Myers was using his Twitter account like a man whore - to accost scantily clad women. He denies this, but frankly, his explanation makes little sense.
On Thursday night, in a story about John Cusick's candidacy for NorCo Controller, I first received this comment about NorCo Council President Kerry Myers' Twitter account: "Well @KerryLMyers44 on twitter might be Kerry Myers from County Council. If it is WOW!"
I checked Myers' twitter account on Friday, and did see one instance of him acting like a horndog, but you know, every dog is entitled to one bite. I called a friend better versed in the Twittersphere than I, and was told to go back and look at "tweets and replies." I did, but by then the Twitter account was gone. Poof! Then I got this comment late Friday afternoon: "Saw the Myers twitter. Funny how it’s now deleted. What a creeper. He should resign."
Later on Friday night, i received two comments telling me the Twitter account has been deleted.
Myers also posted this message on Facebook. "I was informed about an account on Twitter pretending to be me. Sharing inappropriate content I had nothing to do with account and it was reported to Twitter and Deactivated. I apologize for any confusion but I had nothing to do with it."
From what I was able to see before the account was deleted, I know it was his account, and not someone pretending to be him. I know this because the tweets did deal with coaching and Easton High School. So I believe that what Myers meant to say is that someone hacked into his account. If someone was masquerading as him, Myers would be unable to seek a password reset or provide an email address to delete the account.
The account was his, and has the same "44" following his name as appears on his Facebook page.
I was prepared to accept Myers' explanation (with suspicion) until I received the email below from "Go Rovers.' It includes screenshots of exchanges that Myers may have had with seven different women. This is credible evidence that the NorCo Council President engaged with women on social media inappropriately, and in doing so he demeaned all NorCo elected officials.
He should step down as NorCo Council President. If he refuses, he should be removed. Frankly, he should resign from County Council.
First, we know this was his account, not someone else's. That's the only way he could delete it so quickly.
Second, when an account is hacked, you see a spike in followers. That was not the case with Myers' account. From what I remember before he deleted his account, he has at most 50 or 60 followers.
Third, his response to a woman who said she wanted an old man? "I like your thinking lol." Who but an old man like Myers would post an answer like that?
So do I think this was him? Absolutely. This is not proof beyond a reasonable doubt, but Caesar's wife (or in this case, husband), should be beyond reproach.
The real fault here lies with Council Democrats. They let partisan politics trump good government.

I recently saw the comments about Kerry Myer’s twitter account. In his comments on Facebook he mentioned the account pretended to be him and he had nothing to do with it.
Funny that the account disappeared soon after that comment was posted on your blog.
You can see below that the account is definitely his and even commented on an Easton football post.
Then comments on the photos appeared. They appeared for months.
He is a coach and a community leader. This is not the behavior we should have in our coaches and leaders.
His Facebook explanation is a lie. I hope you and the community don’t fall for it.
He was commenting on these pictures. They can be found by digging though the archives of the internet.

It is not him or Cusick. Heckman or Heffner would be very capable, but the Dems exalted partisan politics over good government. As for hating this man, I hate no one. He's just a very bad representative of the people and his poor judgment is reflected by his Twitter account. I am not destroying his marriage and family. He is doing that to himself. What I am doing is making the public aware that the person chosen by Democrats to lead NorCo Council has disgraced his office and his fellow Council members. He would be acquitted if this was a criminal matter bc there is no proof beyond a reasonable doubt, but I am persuaded that it is more likely than not that Myers was using his public twitter account to do things he should have known would catch up to him.
So, who exactly is "Go Rovers" that we should believe him or her? I thought that you insisted on a name before giving credence to such personal accusations.
Poor judgement, but it's really pretty minor compared to the scandals coming out about Hasshan Batts's organization and Matt Tuerk's close relationship to him. No one but perhaps you will ever cover that.

First, these young women put themselves out there for the likes and comments, probably hoping to jumpstart their Only Fans “careers.” Second, there is much to dislike about Meyers, but using “accost” could cause him a lot of problems. The guy is a jerk, but those women are no prizes, either. Class and dignity are foreign to many these days.

I cannot believe that the Dems voted Kerry in. He was the worst possible choice and Lori pushed it. It is truly embarrassing. Kerry can't even get the agenda up in time. He pretty much has been an utter disaster since the very start of his presidency.

Lets focus on something you can prove. Kerry's son walked out of a Northampton Co courtroom with four months of work release (transferred to Monroe Co) after raping an inmate four times in the Department of Corrections of Northampton County on video, while supervisors watched and did nothing. The Co gives him a sweetheart deal and no further action is taken against supervisors? Can you tell me how any of this makes sense? Does Kerry have friends?

He pushes people around and got a good deal for his son when he was charged with raping an inmate and the son was a Corrections officer at the prison. I am wondering what you can find out. His son who was a Gaurd at the prison, raped an inmate, was charged for it and then got Immediate work release.The newspaper wrote that there were even others watching it at the prison. I remember reading that the Prosecutor who has handling the case said that he was a dangerous person but he still got immediate work release anyway. The papers say the victim sued and the county. That the county quietly settled the case in a few months. Victim sues in April of 2022 and the case is settled on November in the same year. It look like the victim sued the county, Myers, and a few others for 1,000,000. Taxpayers were never told about a settlement. Doesn’t the council have to approve settlements like this? I have not heard Lamont say anything about the settlement and there has been nothing said about the immediate work release an accused rapist gets. It’s not fair. Rape and he gets immediate work release and we are stuck with the settlement of the civil case and a predator on the streets. I’m baffled about how this works out and a rapist who is the son of the council president and was a corrections officers gets off with immediate work release and the civil case is settled so fast and quietly, like everything is swept under the rug. I guess it’s good to have your dad as council president. Like father, like son.

He was nominated by Heckman and seconded by Heffner. Lott and Zrinski voted for him on the second round and Myers voted for himself, of course. It was a poor choice that exalted party politics over good government. This was all about giving Myers an edge in his re-election.
Among the Dems. Heffner and Heckman would be infinitely preferable. Lott would not be good bc he misses so many meetings. Zrinski would be no good bc she is running for another office. No one should preside if they are running for another office, and that takes Cusick out. Giovanni would be good. Brown misses too many meetings. Goffredo might need more seasoning.
This is terrible. Kerry holds himself out as a leader in the our African American community but is only an embarrassment.

The LV Chris Hansen poses as a child to snare pedophiles. I did not make him out as a hero and am actually concerned he could end up getting hurt. No. The county has a liability policy through CCAP. The only say it has is in selecting CCAP as its liability insurer. It has no say in individual cases, which sometimes are settled even though the county would prefer to fight.
As for Myers' nephew, he was made eligible for immediate work release so he could support his family. You might disagree with the judge on that one, but that was his reasoning.
Unless he somehow involved the government, it's his business. It's clear you didn't like him before this arose, but this is beneath you.

I worked for Pennsylvania government, and about 20 years ago they discovered actual pornagraphy in large amounts on some peoples state issued laptops. They were reprimanded, not fired. Interesting points. Agree that Myers comes off as a demagogue and a bully but then so does McClure and Dertinger. McClure abuses his privilege to speak at council meetings and uses it to promote himself and his projects. So, Myers as council president is not as important or influential as a county executive.
Also, the comments about the candidates running is worrying to me. Word is that McClure handpicked all the dems running except for Myers. For that fact alone I would vote for Myers. Too bad a republican isn't running in this area. Keegan's husband is president of Easton School District (ROVER?) and he and Myers do not get along. Myers was once the President of the Easton School Board. Myers now is head of th Boosters and in conflict with the district, So the Keegan candidacy is troubling.

To some extent, you are correct. I made no issue about Peg Ferraro, despite complaints from many readers, because she was on her way out after decades of real public service in many capacities. If she intended to run again, I would have blasted her. I am taking the same approach with Kevin Lott, who is often absent but has no intention of running again. Myers has missed several meetings, not just one, and wants to get re-elected. .
