In response to a Request For Proposals and Qualifications, (RFPQ), Northampton County has received bids for both a pay study and Gracedale performance review. So you should expect to see an up or down vote on contracts for these services next month.
Although Northampton County Council voted to seek a pay study for all positions, both union and nonunion, the RFPQ it approved was for nonunion positions only.

Wonder how the McClure gang will try to screw this up. Like they did with th first one in procurement.
That's because Lamont and chucky are to chicken SH-T to do a full study and let the public actually see the true numbers of how union employees are paid. And get a look at how we actually are treated. Maybe some people who comment here opinions would change. Spineless people.
If council approves this with out the union jobs they are just as spineless.
If the Union bosses would better utilize the monies from local workers, they could have done their own darn pay studies to help. No, they use those monies for grants to their favored buddies on state and national level for things like "equity". How about equity here in Northampton County for all workers? I am tired of every study including the words, "equity," "diversity" and "inclusiveness."

The study is useless if they don't take into consideration our benefit packages and what we must pay towards our medical including co-pays. Our pleas haven't fallen on deaf ears. Thank you County Council for doing the administrations job. We eagerly await the results.

In my view, it's useless bc council decided to cofver only nonunion, 1/3 of the workforce. They were incorrectly advised that doing a pay study on union salaries might violate collective bargaining. That is nonsense.
Should the admin have done this? Absolutely. But County Council has mucked it up.
You pay your union to fight for you and a correct salary. But fact is unions don't do that anymore. They take your money get rich and laugh all the way to the bank. That's why the percentage of unions is so low. Speak for yourself. Save your money
Then why don't the unions earn their money and do a pay study?
Start with non-union because it's easier, with less red-tape and organized opposition/scrutiny. In the meantime, have the solicitor and union reps weigh-in on the effect of such a study on collective bargaining agreements. Union vs non-union shouldn't be a thing, we're all working towards the same goals. A win for union workers should be a win for all workers.
Let's not let "perfect" be the enemy of "good".

Sounds nice. Not my experience with unions however.
The unions do. And the only thing that happens is the executive just says our studies are fake and misconstrued.
The union bosses tell their members whatever McClure wants them to. The union members should demand to be included in an unbiased pay study.
The union staff rep don’t tell us how to vote on our contracts , we the union members decide , the contract was voted on 3 times till it was approved . Some union members don’t even know how much they make a hour till they come in the vote , then complain the union does nothing for them . Most of the bloggers on here probably have never been members of a union . Gracedale compares to Ceder Brook with their pay .
If they compare to cedarbrook then a study is not needed as cedarbrook pays the best. Problem solved for Gracedale.

Hey 644 AM. I never said the job was bad. The job is excellent, that's why I am still there after 25 years! I said the UNION is bad. They don't go to bat for you when talks come up for raises and other matters un-related to job description. Read my post more carefully next time before you misjudge!
Try getting elected to the executive board and negotiate your own contract , that’s how a union works , or just keep complaining
