To Catch a Predator - Lehigh Valley Style!

Most of you probably remember To Catch a Predator, a television series that ran sting operations on pedophiles, using adults who pose as minors. Well, a Facebook page called Chris-Hensen Valley Leigh, using the same MO, is stinging local child predators left and right.  He poses as a minor, schedules meets with would be predators and then ambushes them on video.

The fellow on the right, Kyle Gardner, age 33, was actually caught on video after arranging to meet a boy for sex whom he thought was 15. He lives in the Nazareth area.. He admitted "this is my first time," but lied about who he is. Amazingly, he came in his employer's truck, but tried to hide the name as he left the scene.

Whoever runs this page has already snared predators from Easton and Bethlehem,

I believe police could use this evidence to launch a prosecution and could avoid the issue of entrapment. But the fellow running this sting is risking his life.

"I'm the black Chis Hansen, baby!" he concludes.

Seems noteworthy to add that the show To Catch a Predator ran for four consecutive seasons and not ONCE was a drag Queen ever caught in the act of attempting to have sex with a minor. But yet Faux News has convinced stupid conservatives that the LGBTQ community is the enemy. Nope, YOU’RE the problem.

Most of the men attempting to have sex with minors are presumingly white males with families and even kids of their own.

Looks like a lot of projecting to me.

Your neighbor ?.

Man boy love was widely accepted in ancient Greek and Roman times, these practices fell out of favor because of puritanical hetero normative morays.
Yet the evangelical set keeps getting disgraced by cucks like Jerry Falwell Jr and foot tapping closet cases like Larry " wide stance" Craig.

Sex Ed should be hands on!

Woke Bloke

"Your neighbor ?."

As near as I can tell, he is about 7 or 8 miles from me, so I think I'm safe.

Is this "Lehigh Valley with Love"?

From some cursory research, I tend to agree that a majority of sex offenders are white. I have read of a few drag queens who have records for sexual offenses, but am unable to find statistics.

D.A. Houck hates these catchers.

I doubt either he or Baratta have given the matter much thought bc it is unusual.

I respect what this guy is doing, but feel he is endangering himself. That is my concern.

Good punishment would be for the Chris Hansen wannabe to wield the B.B.C on the perps, tuccus to mouth on film

I agree, Bernie, about the danger. But, similar Hansen-style captures have happened in the L.V., and the cops in NorCo tell them the DA won't even look into it; they've been told to say this. SO, indeed, he hasn't given it much thought. Barrata doesn't know what YouTube nor Facebook is.

I'll set aside your implication that you've spoken to cops about using private citizens to snare pedophiles, although that on its face sound very unlikely. Assuming you are being truthful, what some unidentified cop(s) tell you about what the DA says is absolutely zero proof of what the DA would do. Those cops might be using the DA as an excuse, just as reporters use editors as an excuse for not reporting a story. It's best to talk to the source. I will, and I doubt he has ever considered it. What you are saying, which is hearsay on hearsay, strains credulity.

The cops are saying this in the videos, and could be lying. You are correct in that I, save for my neighbor, have not personally spoken to cops. The videos are, perhaps, edited, or the police may even be in costume. Lc Predator Catchers has stated many times about the NorCo D.A. [nota bene: I am a Democratic supporter and voted for him]. He may be lying or even meaning someone else entirely bc he pronounces it "Hawk." This all, of course, could be created by AI apps or Julian Assange or Edward Snowden or Anonymous. We could all be living in The Matrix. (Can we hack that?). Some other solid points there. And, always love the weblogging you do. I look forward to what Houck says.

Law enforcement needs to do a more proactive job in getting these people off the streets and getting them help, but I am conflicted about these videos. There's a danger to them. The guy doing them discloses who he is and his intentions, but there's an air of danger surrounding the whole thing. It has a vigilante edge. We have police and courts for a reason. They are professionals that can protect themselves and those around them. They also provide due process.

I am the father of a 15-year-old. He's doing a good thing by confronting them. If these videos stop one creep from courting kids online or get the molesters prosecuted, mission accomplished. I suspect that law enforcement does too little to stop these monsters, and there should be a discussion about that.

My concern echos what you say at the end of your post: He can get himself (and others) hurt. These people can react like caged animals. Remember that "To Catch a Predator" worked with trained individuals (Perverted Justice) that confronted the person in coordination with law enforcement. Maybe this guy has that training. The original show ended because one of the predators took his own life during a takedown by police (off-air and just a regular warrant). It will also be unpopular, but I am also concerned for the perps. They are a danger to themselves and they have rights. The one with the autistic guy was hard to watch. He was mentally ill. That doesn't excuse his actions (especially because he was a repeat offender), but someone like that should be left to a system equipped to handle them.

I would also be lying if I didn't say I am also concerned about the mob justice aspect of it. At the end of the videos, when it's: "you guys know what to do". It creates mob justice like in the old west. Eventually the mob will act. Catch them, call law enforcement and leave it to the system.

One more time, I don't think he's doing anything illegal and I'm really conflicted about it. Get them off the streets. This feels wrong.
