Nancy Aaroe Running For NorCo Judge

I've previously told you that Brian Panella is running for the judicial vacancy created by the mid-term resignation of former NorCo Judge Steve Baratta. Well, Brian has company. Nancy Aaroe, a prominent Bethlehem Tp attorney who has practiced law for nearly three decades, is running as well. Her announcement just reached me last night or I would have published it sooner. She currently practices law with her husband Paul, who calls himself the DUI guy.  Her long career has also included service  as a public defender, assistant DA and conflicts counsel (these are attorneys who represent Defendants when there is a conflict of interest in the public defender's office).

From Aaroe's announcement: “I feel a strong sense of duty to fill the opening on the Northampton County bench with my decades of legal experience,” said Aaroe, “I am running because I am committed to defending our community and will stand for the rule of law. ”

Aaroe concluded, “I have seen firsthand the gravity of the decisions made by the judges and I am uniquely qualified to fill the bench because the citizens of Northampton County deserve a judge that will stand and defend them”.

Nancy Aaroe was born and raised in Bethlehem Township, attending elementary through high school in the Bethlehem Area School District. She received her undergraduate degree from The College of William & Mary and her law degree from Dickinson School of Law, where she served on Law Review and interned with Duane, Morris and Heckscher, focusing on corporate law. After law school, she returned to the Lehigh Valley to raise a family and dedicate her work to public service. For over a decade, she gained courtroom experience on both sides of the aisle, working as an Assistant Public Defender, Assistant District Attorney, and as court-appointed Conflicts Counsel. In her tenure at the Public Defenders’ Office, Nancy gained indispensable criminal trial experience, including jury and non-jury trials, and arguments before the Superior Court. While at the Northampton County District Attorney’s office in the DUI Unit, she successfully prosecuted several memorable cases, including a DUI homicide by motor vehicle jury trial. While serving as Court appointed Conflicts Counsel, she represented the interests of senior citizens and the disabled, indigent criminal defendants, and parents who were suffering the potential loss of their children. Over the more than ten years of public service, Nancy was also building a private practice. Her concentration was family and small-business-focused. She and her husband, now of 32 years, established Aaroe Law Offices. She is proud of the success she has had in the business, but even more so, of the lasting client relationships she has built. Over the years, she has had many repeat clients, some of which she has represented for over a decade. Nancy is proud to have served so many while raising 3 wonderful children, Annie, Nicholas and Paul. She recently became a grandmother, and she enjoys spending time with her children and grandson, who also reside in the Lehigh Valley.

Nancy is nice enough, but she doesn’t have the personality to run a race and connect with voters and people. She’s got a massive uphill battle.

Can the DUI Gal’s first order of business be to issue a permanent gag order against the DUI Guy???

Nancy Aaroe has been a consistent, level-headed and strong attorney throughout her career. She would make an excellent judge.

He is her weak link, lol. He has some extreme views but is a nice person and a good lawyer. The sins of the husband shall not be visited upon the wife.

The DUI guy is definitely the brains behind that picture. I bet there is an outtake photo hugging the flag as well.

This is a Lee Snover pick. No thanks.

Never did anything for anyone if there wasn't something in it for her...and maybe not then. Poor temperament for a lawyer; inconceivable as a judge.

Sorry. I have a difficult time voting for someone whose husband works to get DUI drivers a pass, or a reduced sentence.

Nancy is a hardworking and quality lawyer. We need more women on the bench.

What makes Nancy such a legitimate candidate is that she is OUTSIDE of the political drama of Northampton Co., which we can all agree is out of control at this point. She's kept her head down and done a great job for her clients on both sides of the justice system. If the biggest slam is that she's not "politician-y" enough, its almost an endorsement... better more law practice less politics that her opponent which is the anithesis of that...

Paul is a character, but anyone who knows him will tell you he's one of the kindest men out there, and defense of his clients is no sin against him. Nancy and Paul are both good, family people who help others in an unpretentious way (rather than to rack up credentials). To say Nancy has never done anything for others than herself is laughable or speaks to lack of research - she literally adopted a child from foster care and took over her family household when her mother passed. As opposed to what? Grand standing at the Key Club for a couple bake sales?! What a joke

"Paul had radical views and probably picked her photo…" lol so we are going too woke for an American flag?

"A Lee Snover Pick" - Not accurate! Nancy is an a-political figure in Nor.Co.. She was approached by both R and Ds for the job. Many members of the bar on both sides of aisle supporting her privately but have internal pressure and are nervous to support publicly. Too afraid to go against Daddy's Boy even though they all acknowledge is way too inexperienced for this position.

Nancy has gained support from both Republicans and Democrats for this campaign, mostly because she has years of experience working in multiple levels of law. It will be interesting to see how Panella spins the fact that he has so little experience. When you look at surrounding states Panella would need more years of experience to legally take the bench. In New Jersey (For Example), he would need 10 years of being a lawyer before running. His dad won't be able to bail him out of this one.

@ 8:26 PM, NJ Judges don't run for office. They are handpicked and appointed.

Pro-life or babykiller? The answer will inform my vote.

Paul is outrageously insulting to anyone that doesn’t agree with him and Nancy is as interesting as white toast with no spine or judicial temperament. These two being anywhere near the bench is bad for Northampton County.

Nancy is just the wrong choice. Ill tempered and a few family law cases that she half asses do not equate to experience. I’m voting for the guy who has actually had to make the hard decisions.

I have gotten to know both Paul and Nancy. I am relieved that there is finally a common sense and solid family based candidate. Nancy has the real world experience that Panella doesn't. Nancy and Paul are both down to earth, working class people that go above and beyond to support law enforcement and old school American values. They have been contributing time and money long before there was any thoughts of elected positions. Nancy's ability to be fair and follow the letter of the law is something you won't find in other candidates. If you aren't sure, look at her years of experience and track record. And, absolutely ask local law enforcement for their opinions... Paul is the DUI guy, but he is the first person to tell you that his job is not to get a pass for the guilty, he assists the accused through the process and makes sure all parties are following law and procedures. I've personally gone against him in court and was honestly impressed how he did not use drama nor try to dismiss the actions of his client. He shows law enforcement great respect. Nancy is no different, she definitely would look past the usual courtroom drama played so well by many attorneys, and focus on the actions of the accused and how the law applies! That's exactly what I want for a judge.

I’ll take a look at her. The Pannella kid is just trying to capitalize on his name.

Very accurate!! Lee will be working behind the scenes ("Campaign manager"), her political hack of a consultant (Tim Butler) will be on the team.

She will lose regardless of who she runs against. Mark my words.

And R and D's did not approach her. Lee Snover did.

For what it is worth, General Lee's husband was at Dickinson Law with Paul and Nancy (they were a year behind).

There is a campaign manager that has been listed for the campaign that's not in Lee's circle. Andres Weller.

She is not a “Lee Snover pick”

Contrary to popular belief, Lee Snover isn’t in a position to pick much of anything these days.

Someone else running? Are you saying Panella makes hard decisions? Lol
