If Jeb Bush Can Release His Emails, Why Not John Brown?

Jeb Bush, widely believed to have the inside track to the GOP Presidential nomination, has recently released a treasure trove of hundreds of thousands of emails during his time as Florida Governor. Believe it or not, the released emails paint a flattering picture. So why can't Northampton County Executive John Brown do that as well?. Here's an email I sent to him.

Dear Mr. Brown, With the exception of personnel matters and legal issues, Jeb Bush has decided to release his email correspondence during his tenure as Florida Governor. I am asking you to do the same thing. In your first year, you established yourself as secretive and remote. If that perception is inaccurate, disclosure of your emails can only help you. So why not release them all? This is not a formal Right-to-Know request, but an appeal for transparent government.

John Brown is the WORST, most inept, non-caring worthless piece of crooked politician we have seen in quite some time. His record in little bangor is so bad, NO one wanted to be mayor and the old mayor won by ONE vote.

How he screwedup that place and then won election to county executive, is a case study in Stupid voters. How did he fool the voters? What magic did he sprinkle into their ears? Was John Callahan, and his $$$,$$$, a terrible candidate? How much did OHare play in his loss? (You know the flip flop-hated him when he ran against man crush DEnt).

The voters have a little over 2 years to pull our heads out of our asses and elect someone who knows what the hell is going on. And if he doesnt, then hire the right people, not lackeys and cronies from Bangor. Please

Bad precedent for whomever is the exec. I'm more interested in politicians' deeds than their words. Politicians lie and say stupid things all the time. It's their deeds that should should be carefully monitored (i.e. Barron says he's a full time controller until his daytime teaching deed was discovered by this blog author).

Callahan was damaged goods after Dent exposed his sham budgeting practices in Bethlehem. Brown merely had to present himself as an acceptable alternative. Aside from a few folks in Bangor, he was an unknown. That will not be the case in 2017. If he doesn't start turning things around in 2015, then he's a goner.

Hold Your breath getting those emails--Probably wouldn't even get them with a RTN request.

I'm a republican and with Brown in office, that is a very embarrassing admission. But I did NOT vote for him. I don't vote for idiots. I knew how bad Brown was because I live in Washington Township, Northampton county and I saw the court jester's many fleeting attempts to govern Bangor.

I am convinced that the GOP leadership will either try to talk him out of a second term or will convince a competent individual to run against him in the next election for executive.

Or else he will receive a magical and wonderful business opportunity outside of government from a wealthy GOP benefactor that he cannot possibly turn down and will slink away from county government. We can only hope at this point.

Pffft. Brown has made it crystal clear he wants nobody at all to know what he is doing - including keeping council in the dark.

All you will do is succeed in verifying that pattern will continue.

9:34,

The worst lies always start with, "I'm a (fill in the blank), but ..."

7:46 Sham budgeting? Bethlehem ran deficit for 3yrs during the recession and before the casino money ramped up. So did most other governments during that period. Bethlehem has no surplus or reserve to draw from. {the county has been running deficits and drawing down its surplus for yrs by the way} When Callahan left office he had erased the deficit and Bethlehem had 3 staights years of surpluses and over $1 illion in reserves. I will take that sham any day.

Fuck the tea party, Fuck Fox news, Fuck John Brown and Fuck his administration........oh and happy new year!

Well I see the attacks on Brown continue unabated. Of course the comparison to John Stofffa not releasing his emails is somehow not allowed. Oh the hypocrisy.

I guess you people want one of the Democrat clowns on county council to be executive. How about old bullshit McClure. No thinks I'll take Brown.

Specifically when did Stoffa refuse to release emails and under what circumstances?

Bernie O'Hare said...

That's just another Mezzacrappy lie. Stoffa released emails even when he hey would be taken out of context. The fact that Mezzacuckoo is anonymously defending Brown tells me Brown's support among mainstream Rs is evaporating, if not already gone.

The emails to a certain lady also during the Gracedale scandal would be a good start.

Don't make me laugh.

@12:03/12:04

I didn't like Glenn Reibman much either and I AM a Republican. Brown ran unopposed in the primaries, so instead of not voting for him, I wrote in the name of "Pee Wee Herman" who would have been a better choice.

Check the voting records....you will find that I am NOT lying. In PA, you must vote your party in the primaries. This is proof that I am not a liar. I would never make baseless accusations such as yours. That would make me look like an idiot.

The people of Northampton County deserve to see what is going on behind closed doors. What possible reason would Brown have not to be transparent unless there is something he does not want getting out?

Agreed,

I didn't like Glenn Reibman or John Stofffa so I wrote in Dick Cheney.
