With the experience of over 50 years of outstanding public service, Bill was an incredible source of knowledge and guidance and was singularly focused on doing what was best for the citizens of each government entity he managed. Bill clearly had his favored political views and would relish a lively discussion with those of differing opinions, but was always the consummate gentleman, committed to working differences out in favor of the citizens he served.
Bill was also a loving husband, father and grandfather and our deepest sympathies go out to his wife, Connie, and his entire family for the deep loss that they are experiencing and we all share.

RIP as well. A good man, he will be missed both by the public and his family/friends.

Bill had to know how fragile his health was when he accepted the CE job following Cunningham's departure. Yet he dedicated the final months of his life to the citizens of Lehigh County. He exemplified the true meaning of public service. God bless Bill and his family.
good riddance, guy always walked into a an elected position without running for office, always got appointed. he should have never been allowed to be county executive. A person in that position should have atleast been elected once or even ran for office in some form. To be vetted by the voters is the American ideal, Hansell skirted that in his goal for multiple pensions at taxpayer expense....well now he can enjoy those pensions...good riddance,
If you really are Abe's guy, you are an idiot either way. Bill was a gentlemen and always had the best interest of the community at heart. In his over 60 year career he always pushed for good government and to remove as much political crap from government as possible. This sometimes annoyed me but usually because he was right and I needed to come to terms with it. I am sure that Bill is now trying to explain to St. Peter how to run a more effective government in heaven. Rest in peace my friend you will be missed.

Bill Hansell was a good man and a giant in the field of public management. While we did not always agree on public policy issues, I always respected him. He will be missed. RIP Bill and may God bless you and your family.

A most honorable man. GOD bless
Bill Hansell was everything an elected official should be and nothing it shouldn't. Agree or disagree, the man had no ambition, no grand political scheme, other than what was in the best interests of the people that he served. Anyone in public service can and should look at him as a role model - he spent 50 years until his last days on Earth trying to make his community a better place. And these aren't just platitudes...they are facts. His legacy will live on through his decades of service. We're better because of Bill.
