The following application will be reviewed by the Allentown City Planning Commission at its meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at 12:15 p.m. in Council Chambers, Room #118, City Hall, 435 Hamilton Street, Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Allentown Arena and Events Center, located in the downtown city block generally bounded on the north by W. Linden Street, on the south by W. Hamilton Street, on the east by N. 7th Street, and on the west by N. 8th Street (excluding 739-741 Hamilton Street) 12-2(LD) Preliminary/Final Plan approval requested by Allentown Commercial and Industrial Development Authority.
The application proposes to construct an arena, hotel, office and commercial space, and parking garages.

So Abe has it correct, the cart before the horse?
Amazing isn't it. The NIZ gets passed without a single Municipality aware that this is getting voted on. Then the Arena Project gets on the fast track and people are not concerned about how/whom is driving the train on this. Just makes you want to know who's palms are being greased and how many are in the pot!!
Are you telling me this arena is being built with-out being approved? Are these the same folks that won't Rite Aid to build?
A plan was approved in January. This is a new one.
A lot of smoke and mirrors with this whole thing. As much as most of the folks don't like Abe, they have made a lot of good points regarding this whole mess.
