Portland Pair Sends Valentine's Day Greetings
Aren't they a cute couple?
Birdman Paul took this picture a few weeks ago. It's the "Portland Pair," two bald eagles who have been returning to their nesting site near the Portland Power Plant for the past five years. This mom and pop have raised two broods over the last two years.
They'll probably celebrate Valentine's Day with sushi, fresh from the nearby Delaware River.
I'll have more about the fascinating Birdman Paul next week.

Way cool. Sometimes we forget about the natural treasures we have in our own back yard. One may see more raptors in five minutes in northern Northampton County than in two hours at Hawk Mountain. Looking forward to the photos.

Dear Birdman Paul,
Never reveal your friends location.
Someone once did that in an Allentown park and the city's special guests were tormented.
Anon 8:00 AM,
That location originally was kept secret, but people could see these birds 5 tears ago bc their perch is very close to that walking trail at Portland's Power Plant. Thousands of people have visited these birds, and they have become imprinted to humans, according to Birdman Paul. In fact they've returned every year for the past five years. I'll be out there today.
Anon 7:31,
Birdman Paul told me one of them is at Lake Minsi on the first day of fishing season. An eagle grabs a rainbow trout from the air as stunned fisherman watch.
Anon 7:56, Thanks very much for the nice words.
I think they prefer sashimi. Hope they find some.
Incredible birds.
Thanks for the photo.
Catharine, You are right. It's actually sashimi. Sushi is the rice, right? I hope the lovebirds have a pleasant day.
