Bucks County Dems will rally tomorrow night for a single payer solution to our healthcare crisis. They will meet at 6 PM in downtown Quakertown, right across the street from the Upper Bucks Community Democratic Office at 328 West Broad Street. This gathering will coincide with a healthcare forum scheduled for 7:00 PM at the Quakertown Public Library, sponsored by Penn Action and Bucks County Voices for Health Reform.
These local Democrats recently adopted a resolution demanding Congress to adopt House Bill 676, although I think they mean HR 676, the single-payer option. Deputy Chair Bruce Whitesell adds, "Congress must act when they return from their summer recess. It is critical that Upper Bucks residents who support reform make their voices heard. The alternative is to continue with an expensive failing system that excludes too many for financial and existing condition reasons.”

There are a number of these planned and have been there. There is one in Northampton soon. A few weeks ago there was one outside of Specter's office in Allentown. No peopel with guns strapped to their legs advocating the abolishment of MEdicare and the US highway system while holding Nazi signs though so it doesn't get press.
Well, thanks to your Republican friends, you now know what to do.
Maybe a human sacrifice or two.
Hopefully, Dent will take time from his medical insurance sponsers to listen to the concerns of his constituents.
He did that in Lower Saucon yesterday. Last time I checked, Quakertown was Pat Murphy's district.
As far as Dent's edical insurance sponsors are concerned, I'd be careful. He did not work for Pfizer, as Callahan did.
Another shot at Callahan. You wonder why people question your integrity. You can not help yourself but tear down decent people in order to prop up your friends.
I took no shot. Dent was called a "medical insurance" sponsored candidate, which sounds very much like a shot to me, as well as a fabrication. I pointed out that if you want to play that game, be prepared to defend Callahan's very real ties to Pfizer, where he was employed. When you take a shot, you have to remember that some people can fire better.
It is funny that although these Bucks Democrats support this bill, their Democratic representative in Congress, Patrick Murphy, has not signed on as a cosponsor of this legislation.
Not all Dems are on board yet because requistie arm-twisting by the likes of Obama and Pelosi has yet to begin in earnest
yes, and charlie dent used to work for Lehigh University, the same Lehigh University where a professor just trashed the LV and her residents. You can't dispute those connections.
Are you for real? That attempted connection isn't even logical.
It is only logical if ohare says it is.
Dent does indeed approve of public health for veterns, senioprs and the poor.
He just doesn't believe poor working stiffs should have it.
The meaning of hypocrite. Callahan will hang him with it.
Actually, he doesn't believe you and I should pay the for people who don't have healthcare, don't want it or are here illegally. I believe the proposed bill is an abomination and is immoral. Maybe people are actually finally saying to the Dems..you can't buy my vote! God bless 'em.
