Sam Bennett, now's your chance to pull off an upset!
Congressman Charlie Dent will bowl at Jordan Lanes this weekend in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Bowl For Kids Sake Tournament. He will be deploy the 2008 version of the Dent Alley Cats, and they're all pretty vicious. Dent's political consultant, Shawn Millan, is actually sharpening his old baseball spikes for some reason. He plans on rolling himself down the lanes. So far, sixty-one teams are in contention, including those little brats that Mayor Pawlowski visited on Monday. I'm going to bring my grandson, but he's a frontrunner, and he tells me he'll be rooting for the Union Thugs.
This event is being chaired by local celebrity Ken Matthews, and it's for the best cause we have - our children. Here's the details.
When: Sunday, March 2, 1 PM
Where: Jordan Lanes, 731 Jordan Pkwy, Whitehall, PA 18052 (610) 437-2695. (You can get directions here.)
You can visit or make a donation to your favorite team here.

I wanted to do this but I work at 2:00.
I hope all goes well!
This used to be Bobby Guber Walsh's gig until he wacked his daughter. After that I heard the group thought having him as a spokesman wasn't such a good idea.
Nice event. Ken Matthews seems like a nice fit.
The nice thing about this event is that it's already a success!
re: gutless 2:06 AM
Walsh has and still does a bowling event that raises a lot of money for an animal shelter. The guy is a fund raising dynamo who gives countless hours to support local charities. His work with the Children's Home of Easton is extraordinary. Just ask any of the hundreds of kids who's Christmases have been made brighter because if Walsh.
It's nice to occasionally get a recalibration of liberal sensitivity, though, via an inaccurate snipe from a compassionate anal pore - likely a waste of skin who's never lifted a finger to help man or beast.
The remark about Walsk is both untrue and, as Anon 7:46 points out, gutless.
Bernie, providing aid and comfort to the Republicans again. Angle must be so proud of you.
No, I'm actually providing aid and comfort to kids. I even mention Bennett's name in a positive way, although she has nothing to do with this.
Sam Bennett can't pull an upset even in bowling, even if they let her use the kiddie bumpers to stop gutter balls.
Let see what Charlie voted against this week. He voted "no" to raising taxes on the five largest oil companies by 13.6 billion over 10 years and use the revenue to fund tax breaks that would spur the development of renewable fuels. The bill would have rescinded tax breaks that Exxon Mobil, Royal Dutch Shell, BP, Chevron and ConocoPhillips received in 2004. Source: The Morning Call
Charlie fights for oil companies while we are heading toward four dollar a gallon gas. That's who Charlie really is.
Charlie sucks. Sam sucks worse. End of story.
"Charlie fights for oil companies while we are heading toward four dollar a gallon gas. That's who Charlie really is.
11:05 AM" Keep crying. The oil companies can easily shut down here and open up a refinery in China where they will be wecomed with open arms. Then you will be paying $20 a gallon!!!
This shouldn't be turned into a political event. Try and keep it about the kids.
something has got to be wrong when th US is paying to rebuild Iraq and securing their freedom and they have all that oil. Is the barter system too old fashion ? seems like the american taxpayers are getting the shaft. Wheres Charlie ?

A snipe is an inaccurate low blow. If the other posters comments regarding Walsh was a snipe then everything Bernie write's about Pawlowski is a snipe.
Frankly, whatever I think of the poster or their motives the post was accurate. The MC covered up the story until the Easton Excess ran it , than the MC(protective as always about those they like) were forced to run with the story.
Feel free to do the Walsh commercial but the fact the the charges after quite a while were dropped doesn't invalidate the posters comments.
Gutless, waste of skin, possiblly; acurate ??.
Bernie and Angle are thick as thieves. This is a partisian Republican website and should viewed as nothing other than that. This post should be all the evidence needed of that. Bernie, talking about being a Democrat is mere subterfuge.
Anon 5:58. It was inaccurate. The charges against Walsh were dismissed.
Anon 9:11,
No this is not a Democratic or Republican site. It is my site. I like some Rs and some Ds.
Same old tired line. Anonymous must be from Allentown. When someone disagreed with Mayor Afflerbach about anything you were labeled "partisan". Now when you disagree with Mayor Ed you are called "partisan" and worse.
Bernie, now that you dare to question a fellow Democrat, you are evil incarnate to some here in Allentown.
Such responses are from small minded people. They never deal with the specifics of what has been raised, they just start calling people names.
What the politicians don't realize yet is that many citizens of all parties are joining together for a simple reason. We have some bad government locally and in Harrisburg. We need to expose what is really going on.
"Gutless, waste of skin, possiblly; acurate ??."
Why does this blog's easily navigable, and very handy spell check continue to confound some? Or is it simply laziness, like so many other things these days? Good grief.
It's reassuring that another humanitarian piles on a partisan issue spun out of a post intended to publicize an event to help kids. I'll bet the kids will appreciate the charity and not really care about Bobby Walsh's, Charlie Dent's, or Bernie O'Hare's party affiliations and political positions.
Hey A.J., how about them kids that this event is all about?
Ain't it nice when others turn an innocuous event into a political rant? You got love these guys! The kids thank you all! You should be ashamed of yourselves.
I'm really concerned about the fact that Charlie Dent has accepted campaign donations from the Stabler folks and has earmarked federal funds for unneeded road improvements down there.
I think we should connect the dots here also. How about it Bernie?
To Anon 1:38 PM
As Jeff Foxworthy would say, "Here's your sign."
As someone who has been willing to call Bernie to task when I feel he has been unfair or inaccurate, I must say that I appreciate his blogging about this event. I also think, that while I disagree with just about everything Bobby Walsh says, that he has been good to a number of local philanthropies. Let's leave politics out of some things and appreciate them for what they are -- good for the community. Can we do that in the Valley? Thanks for giving the bowl-a-thon some free PR, Bernie. It's a great event. I participated last year but was unable to do so this year for a variety of personal reasons, but I still support it.
I would have attended but was drawn intoi a "championship" basketball game for third and fourth graders. Sadly, we went down in flames, but were beat by a very good and well-disciplined team from Salavation Army. Those little brats kept sinking three-pointers all day. Obviously, they're juicing.
This is a wonderful event and Ken Matthews did a great job. I don't understand Gunther Walsh's problems as being a political attack. He was been very open in past years attacking and making fun of people in the public eye. When he stumbled in his life it was inevitable someone would get the word out. You want to protect the guy tell him to sell shoes, otherwise I don't understand the reaction.
Who cares about Walsh, this was a great event and hats off to Matthews and the kids.
Hmm, the real power comes from outside the area. All these Republican have slaughtered
there stock and are wearing
there skins for the hunt.
Beware, none of them are what
they seem. I warn of you to
reject their advances and you
may save your life.
