On Sunday, Bangor's pee wee football players hosted Allentown's east side youth center. At their refreshment stand, Bangor offers a very unusual snack - their famous pickle on a stick. Allentown's east enders gobbled them down. I even ate the stick!
Do you notice any other unusual snacks offered at local sporting events?

Are you sure they were pickles?
I believe this was started at Palmer little league events at the Palmer elementary school athletic fields. Years ago. They also ring a bell every time someone buys a pickle on a stick. It's fun!
Cool. Love that bell.
At some Allentown games, you can get rice and beans. I'm not sure if it's every game or if it depends on who's running the snack stand.
You can get Lebense food at the Shad tournament
Lebanese food at the shad tourny? Now that's something different, eh? I love spinach pie, hummus and stuffed grape leaves.
I believe the greeks will take credit for stuffed grape leaves (dolmathes) and spinach pie (spanicopetta) or something like that. The Lebenese do hummus.... And other good stuff, of course.
There was hot chicken soup at East Side on Sunday a week ago. Too bad it wasn't a cold day!
Hot chicken soup? When it gets cold, they'll serve gazpaccho.
That's the only game I missed and the only one I'll miss until the end of the season. I understand the Palmer crowd thought they were walking into a crime scene. In fact, I think there was a crime scene nearby. I'm also told the Palmer kids are very good football players.
In Virgina a racetrack with Weekly amature NASCAR has Freid Bolna Sandwhichs.
They just slice it thick like a burger and cook it on a griddle. Kinda like a Hot Dog Burger
I like Shwarma myself. Love lamb.
Lamb Tacos are awsome as well.
Palmer Kids are good since they are in the Easton district.
I just wish Palmer and Forks parents could park better on city streets for HS home games.
I live an earshot from the stadium.
lots of bad parking jobs.
easton high school home games. tomato pie.
Thanks. Didn't know that.
Tomato pie from Schuberts in Nazareth used to be fantastic. I don't think they are there anymore. Just like Beth's Sandwich shop in Main street. They had the deli pickles in a real barrel. Beth had the best hoagies and sandwiches ANYWHERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
IT's no PICKLE.
It's a JALAPENO...
....on a STEEEK.
