Embattled Norco Dem Boss Joe Long Steps Down

Chargrined by a symphony of complaints from fellow committeemen and local politicians, Northampton County Democratic Chair Joe Long stepped down late yesterday. "I think it's time I start listening. After all, I don't have all the answers. Maybe someone else can do better."

Long has been stung by recent criticisms over his reelection, the way he handles party endorsements, his attempted control of Northampton County Council, and most recently, his attempt to decide the next Democratic congressional candidate.

"This is still a democracy," said selected Councilman Lamont McClure. Council candidate John Maher agreed. "The people should decide candidates, not some group of guys in a Nazareth bar." Update: Some people ask whether this is just some April Fool's spoof, like those posted by Chris Casey, Addicted and P.O'd Naked Blogger. Actually, it's a Christmas wish. You can never start too early.

Keystone Politics reported yesterday that Rick Santorum just endorsed HIllary Clinton. Somebody actually got believed it and went on an anti-Rick rant.
