Will Dean Browning Chair LC Board of Comm'rs?

A few weeks ago, some Lehigh County Democrats were sure that Dean Browning was positioning himself up as the new Strongman on the Board of Commissioners. But Dean believes the Board needs a "Chairman who has substantially more time to devote to the position than I do. As a result, I’m not interested in the position of Chair for 2010."

Can you say Percy Dougherty? Browning will continue in his current role as Arch-Villain.

percy is a pleasure to work with on any front. He is, without a doubt, the kind of person who should be in elected office and leading. He listens, he seeks common ground and he avoids the partisan crap.

I believe he is key to the success of LC's B/C, a truly outstanding group. Percy and I disagreed over webcasting, but he managed to get minutes online all the way back to the 80s, and in the best format I've ever seen.

Percy Dougherty, spends more time working in the county office than any other commissioner on a part-time salary. It could be said that Percy spends more time with Don Cunningham than with his wife. The snake spends his nights in a Sand Trap but prefers to spend his days in the Lube pit of downtown Allentown.

Roman, Eckhart, or Browning for chairman. New conservative leadership is good for the Board of Commissioners to keep a check on Cunningham and make County government less costly. It's time a Republican majority acted like one.
