Embattled NorCo Court Administrator Now Faces Felony Charge

In September, Lehigh Valley Live reported that Northampton County's Court Administrator Jermaine Greene was the subject of a temporary Protection from Abuse Order (PFA) based on allegations by his wife that he soaked his wife's clothing in gasoline, broke her rib and threatened to kill her.

A temporary PFA is based on allegations alone. But Greene was charged by Pennsylvania State Police with criminal mischief as a summary offense based on his wife's allegation that he soaked her clothing in gasoline on August 22, I posted a story.  Now it's time for another.

Greene has been charged again by Pennsylvania State Police, but now it's a felony. He's been charged both with burglary, a second-degree felony, and harassment as a summary offence based on a new incident occurring on September 4.

Under Pennsylvania law, "A person commits the offense of burglary if, with the intent to commit a crime therein, the person: ... enters a building or occupied structure, or separately secured or occupied portion thereof that is adapted for overnight accommodations in which at the time of the offense any person is present."

In addition, the temporary PFA is now permanent, meaning he's barred from contacting his wife for three years.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for November 18, 10 am, before Magisterial District Judge Jamie Levy in Monroe County.

A second-degree felony charge is a serious accusation in Pa. It carries a maximum sentence of up to 10 years and a fine of up to $25,000.

The courts have previously declined comment but it's abundantly clear that Greene's career is over. Judges are reportedly looking for a new court administrator.

  1. Lowest of the low. Hope he reaps the max of what he has sowed.

  2. Damn. The Greene machine was the train wreck y'all was sayn' he was. I didn't know him at all, but followed his story here. Enjoyed reading the comments about him from coworkers and others.

  3. To have coddled a domestic abuser is a stain on Judge Dally’s reputation that will not wash away.

  4. Let the excuses begin!

  5. Craig Dally should be ashamed of himself for protecting this guy- what a legacy!

    1. Judge Dally is not protecting Jermaine Greene. He is following the rules that employers must use for personnel matters.

    2. If he wasn’t protecting him, why are the rules different for each employee? Greene is out on paid leave, but he fired a probation officer for allegations last week. Like I said Dally should be ashamed of himself, Murray too.

    3. Lets also not forget big bully Greene is still on a PAID suspension. Gina Gibbs and Greene dismantled the probation officers life due to temporary PFAs and another incident which has not even been seen in the court room. So much for due process, unless you have power

    4. And for the record ask around, the probation officers in question was BELOVED by his coworkers

    5. Greene and Gibbs started dismantling the probation officers life long before that. They got involved in his PERSONAL life. Inserted themselves into his divorce. What they did to him was EGREGIOUS!

    6. That probation officer is irreplaceable! Murray and Dally are a disgrace for supporting the corrupt court administration. Absolutely disgusted by the bench.

    7. This monster shouldn't even be out on the streets! He was terrible at his position; I know a really good employee in C & Y that he fired a few years ago for bogus allegations- no wonder the morale can't be any lower in the department.

    8. Jermaine has no authority over CYF staff. Not sure who you mean

    9. He serves at the pleasure of the court. If he were a county employee, he could be dismissed tomorrow by the county bench. No one else who has had their livelihood, salary, and or pension impacted by this bully, and there were many, was given any type of due process or the ability to defend their case so why is the AOPC giving him due process or that chance?

    10. He fired a really good employee w/o any due process!

    11. He has fired many people who were good employees. At least one was a county employee for decades who was close to retirement. He also hired his family and put them into positions of power just because of who they were and they got away with stuff other people would have been fired for.(Driving to Monroe county on work time for personal reasons, missing work without calling but still having a job, it goes on and on) The nepotism runs deep with Greene. Also very suspicious how many flower arrangements he sent to his wife's offices over the years . Obviously there was something he was trying to make up for. Typical abuser behaviors.

    1. Agreed. But he will still collect his vested county pension, and the State probably will make a deal with him so he quietly goes away. He will be treated with much more dignity and respect than he ever treated the employees who were subject to his tyrannical behavior.

  7. My goodness! Prayers for his wife! Prayers for Norco to pull it together! Sheesh!

  8. What got him to the point that he wanted to burn her clothing? That's some serious anger that rarely comes out of nowhere. I don't know either party but something tells me there may be a compatibility issue. It will be interesting to learn the events that led up to all of this.

    1. What did the wife do? I'm sure there is more to the story than just his actions.

    2. There's no mention of him trying to burn her clothing. Just taking it all and soaking it in gasoline. Either way, her things were ruined, and it's a bizarre way to behave.

      Delete
    3. 9:15- What got him to that point? He got himself to that point. It was his choice. It is extremely controlling, vindictive and abusive.

We've all had brutal arguments with our significant others, but who among us has ever taken our partners wardrobe and doused it in gasoline? Mr. Greene owns this behavior 100%, He'll probably use the excuse, "But I didn't light the fuse" as if to lessen and mitigate his culpability, but his damage has been done. Don't condone, excuse or blame his behavior. His wife got a 3 year order of protection- not simply a mutual agreement of "no contact" for 90 days.

Yes, there is a lot more going on here, but it lies squarely on Mr. Greene. He was handed a golden opportunity (many, in fact), and he chose to throw it all away because of 'his' behavior.

    4. @915 you really are blaming the wife by saying she provoked him to get that mad and behave like that?! The red pill bros and the manosphere is bigger than anyone realizes. Just like this country is way more racist than it was thought to be.

      Delete
    5. Not blaming anyone, but you did jump to that conclusion. It takes two to tango, rarely is either party blameless. I'm not sure what a "red pilled bro" is but it seems as though you have a deep hatred for those with whom you don't share the echo chamber of tribalism. Domestic violence is not defined or limited to a single party or team. It's a plague incubated by anger. My query is I would like to know what got him (perceived or real) to the point that he doused clothing in gasoline which leads one to believe that lighting it all on fire was a next logical step. As I said, I don't know either party and have no concern for his employment. Hopefully he gets the help he needs and his wife gets help as well for the trauma she has suffered by his hand.

    6. Though nobody knows what goes on in a home, he would not be anywhere nearly as successful as he is if not for his wife. She was the typical "every successful man has a strong woman behind him" woman. Stop the victim blaming. He would have been content to drink in a bar all day and his wife only tried helping him be the best he could be for them and their kids. Also, she has been through traumas that most of you asshats would not survive so.stop.making assumptions.

  9. Wasn’t it Barrata who hired Jerrmaine Greene to be Court Administrator ?

  10. Bernie, a wise man once told me that you should really wait for this to resolve before writing about it.

    1. It has resolved. The PFA is permanent. He has had due process. I was reluctant to write about it when it was temporary until he was charged criminally.

  11. Baratta hired him. I hope not one of Baratta's ADA's do not get the position. JG was a minority. Position should be filled with a minority, possibly one of the qualified women that are the deputies in Court Admin?

    2. First of all, Greene Was hired by the then President Judge to be the first black court administrator in the state of Pennsylvania. Who cares whether the next court administrator is black, white, purple, male, or female? Just make sure it is someone who is qualified for the job and neither of the two current female deputies are nearly qualified for the jobs they have now and definitely not for the court administrator position.

    3. Neither is the unknown perspective from the DA's office.

    4. For the same reason the President Judge at the time made such a big production out of JG and skin tone. There were definitely more qualified candidates. And that should reflect on that former (President) Judge. And if the current deputies aren't qualified, then what position do you hold?

  12. Jermaine Greene is an At-Will employee. He could and should be fired today.

    1. AOPC is who Greene actually works for and controls his employment. Judge Dally has nothing to do with final say of Greene's job.

  16. The sad part is that it had to come down to having criminal charges levied against him for Greene to be dismissed. Not because of his poor job performance, not because of his treatment of staff, not because of complaints from staff who were willing to speak out. It had to come to this for him to be dismissed. But this is the state of the county. Gracedale is a mess yet Morton and Wandalowski continue to keep their positions. The jail has had three suicides in less than three months, poor staff retention and poor morale, yet that director keeps her position. TZ will fault McClure for his major tax increase, but keeps him on staff. Why? Yes I know TZ can't dismiss Greene, but the point is why does this county continue to let departments be run by ineffective department heads. Why must it always be an extreme situation before someone is let go?

    1. So true! The morale at cyf and human services as a whole has been brought down by Wandolowski. She hides it but it is really mean. Everyone afraid to speak up. She said she had too much on her plate but has assistants to do the work one person always did. Allowed the opioid monies to be spent on billboards. She will not work with the courtz & has bad relationship with them. Behind the scenes everyone knows shes the bully. She didnt handle the crises at gracedale and let Carson take the fall. She send John Mehler into retirement prematurely. He ran Aging and had so much knowledge he couldy pass down. She worked with HR to demean people. Tara says shes giving her a chance but the chances are blown. She puts people she likes in positions and doesn't give many a fair chance. Courts and probation dont seem to like her curt approach.
She gave raises to her friends then told othrr managers sorry its not innthe budget. There is no team Sue! at dhs.

    2. Totally agree. Zrinski said she would go shake up the DHS building but did nothing. More lies by another politician. Kept them all in their respective roles, and nothing has changed. Morale continues to plummet in that building. They promote who they like and the effective, caring workers get more work piled on them. They need to start gauging work performance and promotions differently over there. Anyway, caseworkers get paid more than supervisors, so.why bother being a supervisor, esp with no union to protect the sup?

  18. Man. This couldn’t have happen to a better guy. I have seen this man bully employees. Treat ppl like absolute garbage. Harass workers you name it. Fire ppl at will like he thoroughly enjoyed it. Karma is a real thing. And I’m glad this man got his dose of it.

  19. The omnibus offense gravity score (11) for his F2 burglary offense calls for a minimum of 7-10 months in the county jail.

He should lose his pension too. In 2019, Pennsylvania significantly strengthened its pension forfeiture laws. The act was expanded to include any state or federal felony or any crime that carries a maximum prison sentence of five or more years (in this case, he's looking at 10 years), as long as the offense is connected to the individual's public office or employment (the victim is a court employee, co-worker and subordinate). AOPC, are you reading this?

  20. Seriously, that he’s still on PAID suspension is absolutely nuts!!! What the hell?

  21. Being charged is different from being convicted. Just sayin'. Not defending.
Back in my day, Wandalowski and Greene were very decent people. Haven't interacted with them lately.

  22. Jermaine has been stealing time from his position for years! Comes to work when he feels like it, some days not at all. He goes on more vacations with what seems an endless supply of vacation days. “Working from home” so not in the building at all. Hes a bully and is the ABSOLUTE WORST court administrator in NC history.hes abused his power, and no one kept him in check.as a former employee, Greene was a big part on my decision to retire as soon as i was eligible.ive been waiting six years for karma to get him. Im so relieved that FINALLY hes out.
