Pokemon, move over! Confidence man Donald Trump is taking some time from his busy schedule with federal prosecutors to announce that he's selling his own trading cards. Just $99 a pop! He modestly claims he's "better than Lincoln, better than Washington." Most ex-Presidents write books, but as I can attest, most of his base lacks basic reading skills.

The company who produced and sells the cards, NFT.INT. has provided a statement its company is not owned, managed, or controlled by Trump. Further, the funds do not go to any political campaign. Evidently, NFT.INT. purchased a license to use Trump’s Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) on a novelty product for sale to the public.
I was disappointed to learn of these cards, and believe this careless arrangement between people of his management team should lead to a few employment terminations. I doubt Trump was fully aware of the scope of all this, but he sure did promote the card’s release date. NOT a good look, and Trump will be criticized, nonetheless. He’s criticized for just about anything, so what’s new?
What a waste of energy, when will this disease be evisceraced.

FWIW, I voted for him, and I liked his policies, AND I read lots of books, the Bible, history, all 14 Mitford novels, stuff about gardening....Had not known anything at all about these trading cards, because I sort of ignore the television.

Yes, Bernie. I mentioned the licensing deal that was stuck before ANY cards were sold. Happens all the time. Some entrepreneurs succeed, some do not. That’s on them. Trump’s a businessman. He does licensing agreements all the time and has done so for many years.
By the way, the cards sold out in 12 hours! 45,000 @$99 each. How is this businessman any different than say, Michael Jordan, or even the recent high school football player NIL deal from Western Pennsylvania?
