Gracedale Under Fire As Usual

At the last Northampton County Council meeting, President Lori Vargo Heffner read into the record a letter from a Gracedale resident named Lynn Gerber.

"Gracedale is not fine. If you could come here and visit the residents, you could hear the truth. Mainly, the aides and some nurses that are staying here are disgruntled about the care given to the residents by the agency staffing from other states who get big bucks and other benefits which they don't deserve.

"I told the regular staff that they need a new union that will work for them and not against them.

"The bed baths that are given by the agency are atrocious and so is the changing of briefs. Besides, when they stay for a double shift they sleep or sit in the solarium or nurses' station or don't know what they are doing.

"They ask the residents what they need. Some of them can't even tell them.

"If someone from the courthouse would come to Gracedale unannounced and not dressed to the nines and not telling [Executive Lamont] McClure about it, would be stupendous.

"Another thing. Watch Died Suddenly by Stu Peters on rumble.com. They are showing what kind of clots you can get from the Covid injection, which the workers were told to get to keep their jobs. Unreal."

I'm sure it does bother staffers to see outside nursing agencies working at Gracedale for higher salaries. That would bother anyone. But until the employee shortage is corrected, the county has no choice but to rely on them.

Gerber's reference to Died Suddenly pretty much destroys her credibility in my eyes. That's the latest video from the anti-vax crowd. The theory is that Covid-19 and/or the vaccine are all part of a scheme by those damn global elites to rid the world of so many people. As Jonathan Swift observed, “It is a melancholy object to walk through this great town, or travel in the country, when they see the streets, the roads, and cabin doors crowded with beggars of the female sex, followed by three, four, or six children, all in rags and all importuning every passenger for an alms.” Stu Peters has also claimed, in an earlier conspiracy theory, that coronavirus is a synthetic snake venom spread via COVID-19 vaccines and drinking water.

Time for me to get my daily dose of adrenochrome.

Well I'm not saying she is wrong about the situation, however ,

Wow, synthetic snake venom— rumble.com ? References like this from a resident? Ah, how about a pass threw letter possibly sent by staff member with residents name on it? Psychopathy isn’t a diagnostic category. Before Covid I along with other veterans would stick our heads in the door. , Now, that was about 3 years ago but. I personally never observed anything that would set off an alarm. Staff was short, but it’s not Country Meadows ,it’s a facility for people that can’t afford to pay the prevailing fees of private care for rehabilitation or permanent residential care. Some of the RNs seemed stretched out ,they have responsibilities that require a lot of documentation and that takes time, I can imagine that their professional license is hanging in the background on everything. I’ll tell you what I would do,stop accepting anyone. People move here from Patterson ,N.J. and dump grandma in the place and she never lived here before. I sure games are playing out . This is for Northampton County citizens that lived here and paid taxes here when they were able to.

This letter to me shows a lack of nursing supervision. NO resident should know employees are disgruntled. Also, if a resident knows employees are sleeping so do the supervisors. If this resident knows the care is poor, so do the supervisors. These supervisors and administration need to address the disgruntled and poor care. The employees and supervisors need to keep their mouths shut about how unhappy they are around residents. The residents should not hear their complaints and the environment for the residents should be as happy and pleasant as can be during this stage in their lives. The supervisor on duty needs to address these issues as they occur. Take disciplinary action if it continues. If supervisors are also the problem administration needs to address with them. If continues, show them the door. Residents care comes first including mental health. Who wants to hear workers bitch all day. Can you picture the residents' last days hearing this instead of laughter and joy.

The administrator needs to speak to the floor employees. Tell them all what is expected. Tell supervisors any care issue must be addressed immediately with the employee. Supervisors must lead by example. If they don't, they need to go. Lack of leadership and supervision appear the most important problem. Residents come first and their happiness and care. Some staff needs a reminder it appears.

Should have gotten real of that white elephant drain on the taxpayers years ago.

Bernie, why don't you go lay in a Gracedale bed and see what kind of care or no care you get! Better yet, put McClueless and Chuckie in a bed. They wouldn't get any care because no one would deal with them. The hell with the Administration appointed raises and the healthcare center!! Take care of the elderly. That is what McClueless ran on and he LIED AGAIN. You will be there soon.

So apparently the blinders are still on here about Gracedale. Have been trying to tell all of you this forever including County Council. A disgrace to bring a former caring employee into this. Stacy cared about Gracedale, her fellow employees and the residents!

She only cared about her self , worst manager ever plus she stole from the county. Anger issues

8:14, I have asked her numerous times why she was fired, but never got an answer. So I don't know if she stole.

Gracedale administration apparently is under scrutiny. Perhaps cover that! 🤔

It is ALWAYs under scrutiny, more than any other nursing home. County Council gets a monthly report. There is a citizen advisory Council. The state DOH investigates every anonymous complaint, though nearly all are unfounded. It is going to get a performance audit. It gets more scrutiny than any place I know.

Should look into the 911 center and their critical staffing shortage. It’ll make you laugh!
