Who's Running For Judge?

For reasons that mystify me, NorCo Judge Steve Baratta will be descending from the judicial heavens at year's end to resume his place among us mere mortals. I thought he was an excellent judge, and he proved it by ruling against me a few times. But enough about that. The question now is who will replace him? What do you hear?  I'll tell you what I hear on Monday.

Brian Panella announced today. Campaign being run by Theresa Hogan, who ran the successful campaign for Abe Kassis.

Panella has worked to clear the field of any real contenders. It will be so nice to have a judge with so many years of experience on the bench again. I mean he's been an attorney for at least 5 or 6 years now.

Give me a judge that will be fair. I'm not worried about how many years he's an attorney. With some of these clowns we now have in Northampton County, Brian Panella sounds like he would be a breath of fresh air that is poorly needed on our Northampton County Bench. We have Judges that hate each other, We have Judges that don't talk to each other. We have Judges who can't get along with each other and they are resigning their position to run for District Attorney. These adult judges are acting like infantile brats and they are making decisions that affect your and my everyday lives. Let's hope we get more idealistic young attorneys running for this most important office.

6:20 pm: Which Panella is “clearing the field?” If the father, then that seems unethical by a judge who is supposed to be held to a higher standard, and should be known to voters. If the son is as inexperienced as you state, then I’m looking at this as nepotism and a bench-grab by the kid.

12:48: Experience should count for something. It is at least equal to fairness. If I am before a judge, I want know they have years of experience. This kid graduated law school in 2017, which means he got into the bar in late 2017.

6:20: I agree if it is Jack Panella clearing the field, then that would be a serious ethics violation.
