Zrinski is running for the state house, and has been for some time. She's clearly using her perch on County Council to run her campaign. Many of her resolutions deal with state and federal issues, and have little or nothing to do with core county functions.
This State Rep hopeful tried to explain her failure to give Council members and the public an opportunity to review her nonbinding resolutiion in advance with excuses that she had bronchitis, that she had a lot of Christmas visitors, and that they all have a responsibility to make sure food banks stay open longer. But Council finally has had enough. Instead of feel-good yes vote, her resolution has been referred to Lori Vargo-Heffner's Human Services Committee.
Council members like Ron Heckman, Kevin Lott and Bill McGee tried to tell her gently that she should give them more lead time. Vargo-Heffner was a bit more blunt.
Vargo-Heffner made clear she is concerned about food insecurity within the Lehigh Valley. But she is concerned about Zrinski's last-minute resolutions. "We have a lot of business to do in this county," she lectured Zrinski. "We are elected officials to do county work. I'd like to know what we're doing at home before we go writing letters to the Governor."
Kerry Myers, in his first business meeting as a Council member, was even more blunt. He said he comes from a family of 15, and knows what it's like to be hungry. He talked about different groups in which his father participated that raised money to feed and even bury people. "We take care of our own," he said. "We have to take care of what the hell we got going on in our county," the brand-new Council member reminded Zrinski.
Executive Lamont McClure said he had no opportunity to review Zrinski's latest missive, but added the County already funds nearly every, if not every, food bank. "We're doing really good work out there," he added.
Realizing she had no support, Zrinski back-pedaled and said she intended to invite people to speak on the matter and had no intention of seeking a vote last night. But there it was, on the agenda, clearly as part of her state house campaign.

It's a microcosm of the Democratic Part, in general. It's a hopeful sign that less wacky, lunchpail Democrats have finally had enough of the batshit crazies like Zrinski.
They also know she's going to be smoked in that district in the election, which is more red than Lamont's nose.

In my humble opinion, behavior exhibited by Zrinski is why folks are easily turned off by progressives. They tend to only consider their own agenda and crave the adulation that comes with fighting the latest cause celebre (see plastic straw resolution)

Ms Zirinski was actually given lesson in what not to do. The marginal special interests that get her to push every wild idea are using her for their own purposes. She sounds like she is either without a clue or using every cause to get votes. After a while people suspect you are all about yourself and not every new cause of the moment. Zrinski is a flawed person who has a problem with honesty. I have seen this first hand. She was sanctioned for perjury in a custody dispute. On Council, she made up whoppers about the Penn East Pipeline, trying to scare people, and then lied about what Township Commissioners did. She comes to meetings late, asks questions that have already been answered, gets angry when asked to use the microphone, talks over other Council members, has a very strange laugh at inappropriate times and claims to hate white men. I have seen real activists, and I respect them. Zrinski is a phony who is only interested in a cause if it can help her. I would hope a decent Democrat like Dean Donaher would challenge her bc he'd beat her. I'm not sure he'd beat the GOP candidate, but he'd trounce Zrinski.

She was sanctioned by Judge Emil Giordano for perjury and fined $2,700. Judge Giordano specifically found Zrinski had committed perjury in a court order dated 12/16/08 at 2007-9468.

This post just highlights why people shouldn't run for office while holding another.
Zrinski, and Brown in Lehigh County, should resign as soon as they begin to circulate their nominating petitions.
If politicians like Brown and Zrinski lack the ethics to do the right thing, resign-to-run legislation should be passed at every level of local government.
I am not sure about a resign-to-run reform. County Council is a PT job. I see no reason for compelling someone to resign from a PT position to run for office. I can see it for FT elected officials who run for other FT elected positions.
The perfect example is Zrinski.
Will she be making her decisions to benefit county residents or to boost her election chances for state rep? Many of those decisions won't be just time-wasting show resolutions, but will determine if and how county tax dollars are being spent.
Remember, although she's a part-time county legislator, her decisions will have a full-time impact on county taxpayers.
You should have to live with the decisions you make, not jump to another office.
In addition, it opens (even part-time) local politicians up to the same pressures for corruption that effected Pawlowski. It's not a stretch to think that a part-time legislator could make a decision as to how it might benefit a donor (or potential donor) to their campaign for higher office.
I don't think very many bosses in the private sector would allow you to keep access to sensitive information and continue to make important decisions for the company after you announce that your looking for another job. In fact, many would show you the door upon learning that you had such intentions. It's just not worth the risk of what COULD happen.
Only in government do we think it's acceptable to act as if nothing changes when someone announces that they want to leave.

Tara Zrinski, recently stated in an article announcing her state house run, she raised her three sons in the Bethlehem area. This statement is false, her first two sons, from one father, were raised with shared custody. She threw the youngest son out of her house when he was in 7th grade and stated she didn’t want him there. Why? He wanted to spend additional time with his father.
You have no idea of the problems of a single father when the mother of their children will lie directly to a judge and then blame her attorney. Challenge yourself, read the court records and transcripts.
The single-father raised him alone from that point forward and that son is now a United States Marine, receiving a meritorious promotion on graduation day, August 30th from Parris Island.
Why is this information important? (Character!!!!!) Bernie is correct, public records will show she was held in contempt of court for perjury by Judge Emil Giordano during child custody hearings; yet she still continues to lie. Integrity matters, something Ms. Zrinski is deficient in spades.
Ms. Zirinski was not even into voting before she ran for office. She told people the party approached he to run? She publicly stated she didn't know what to run for and finally decided to run for county council even though she don't now what a county did. She had to pick what was best for her. She lacks even a basic sense of personal responsibility.

1) Fake news: Mr. O'Hare is correct in quoting Giordano's court order dated 12/16/2008 2007-9468.
2) Not convicted: She was ordered to pay $2700 for services proving her perjury. Therefore as Mr. O'Hare denoted, she was sanctioned. The only reason she was not convicted of a felony is due to Morganelli refusing to prosecute the felony despite having a court order determining and proving perjury.
3) Single mother: Ask yourself about the issues of a single father. Are they any less of a struggle? The answer is NO!
4) Juggling: I am reminded of a proved: "if you lie, you always have to remember what lie you told last" Besides: as adults with family, work, children, interests and other life events, we all have ISSUES TO JUGGLE.
5) Men can be cruel. Zrinski kicked her second son out of her house the day after Mother's Day in 2014 stating she did not want him there. WOMEN CAN BE CRUEL.
I dare anyone to challenge Zrinski and ask her what type of relationship she has with her second son. Whatever Zrinski tells you, (as President Reagan said: Trust but verify), follow it up by asking her son what relationship they have and why. Then follow it up by that sons father.
anon 7:50, Ms. Zirinski has been touting her "Marine son" story to everyone. She loves to talk about how she attended his graduation. Unaware of the whole story. She has claimed the boys father created a toxic situation between she and her son. In her world the fathers of her kids are the villains. Apparently there is much more to her back story tan she talks about. She loves to portray herself as a fighting victim of just about everything. The far left local democrats love her since they are extremists. Some are using her to carry out their anger at other democrats they don't like.
I would ordinarily delete comments like these, but she does use her children as campaign props.

As one who also attended that graduation along with other family and personal friend, said Marine was informed by his father that his mother was in attendance and would he like her to be included in pictures. Said Marine stated I don’t want her anywhere near me !!! Why; explains much to the back story, or as Bernie once stated, Tara has a problem with the truth.
As I read through these messages, I found that it was time to say something. I encourage others to read transcripts from 2006 on Zrinski. During this particular hearing, Zrinski was being called into question on physical aggression towards her eldest son when he was 7. A bystander to this physical aggression gave testimony to what was witnessed and confirmed he witnessed physical aggression, hitting from Zrinski against her son. Giordano stated, "I find this witness credible!"
Yet again a demonstration of complete disdain for men. So, I encourage anyone to do some research and reading as the paperwork demonstrates and displays her true character.
Additionally, that Marine she is touting about is the very individual she proclaimed "I wish he would strive to be something better than that!" Therefore leaving anyone to question the true integrity of her touting to being nothing modem than self serving for her own political gain.
Again, I encourage others to dig deeper and ask more poignant questions as if she is willing to LIE to a judge for her own gains, LYING to the general public is just as simple and easy.
