Drosnock's carefully landscaped home. |
That owner, Mike Drosnock, was in his Kesslersville Road home, sound asleep, at the time of Miller's visit. He tells me he's a sound sleeper. He awoke on January 6, day of the Epiphany, to see that a pilgrimage had arrived at his residence, not from the Three Magi, but Washington Tp police chief Scott Miller and a towing service.
"It looked like a tank came through my landscaping!" he told me. Whatever had hit him scraped the side of his house, taking out a window and bending a very important pipe leading to his pellet stove, which had been running. It completely destroyed the landscaping he had carefully planted, shearing off three trees. It tore apart stones embedded into his landscaping. It ripped a pump away from its cistern. Flying debris even damaged some of the shingles on his roof.
In my Thursday story, I said Miller had rolled his truck. Drosnock believes the truck never actually tipped over.
Some of the damage done |
Why does this matter? Drosnock can tell you why. One of the items that Chief Miller hit was a pipe from Drosnock's pellet stove. It bent the pipe and actually moved the stove, which was in operation. Hot ashes. Had the stove gone over, Drosnock would be dead today. A repairman who later visited the scene told Drosnock that, had the pipe been bent in a different way, it would have fed noxious fumes into the home, killing him.
Scott Miller |
Drosnock called 911.
Two Slate Belt Regional Police (SBRP) officers came to his home. They could see what had happened.
"We don't have any report about this," they told him.
By this point, Drosnock had his suspicions. He was looking at the debris littered all over his lawn. They included a lot of construction tools, golfing equipment and certain items that could only belong to a police officer. (I have been asked not to identify the objects found. ) In addition, Drosnock found one or more receipts issues to a Scott E Miller.
When Drosnock called the SBRP later, their tune had changed.
"We got it all figured out," they assured him.
"Everything's been taken care of."
At this point, Drosnock disclosed his suspicion that a police officer had hit his home.
"We'll call back."
Drosnock decided to visit SBRP in person. He knew by this time exactly who Scott Miller was, and wanted to know what police were doing about it.
"Did you give him a field sobriety test?" Drosnock asked.
"No, the officer at the scene determined it wasn't necessary," he was told.
This is contrary to my information, gathered from two police officers who have been talking to other police officers. According to them, SGT Andrew Daly and another officer met with Miller. There is bodycam footage creating grounds to believe Miller had been drinking. One officer tells another that he detected the odor of alcohol on Miller's breath. I was informed that Miller was requested to submit to a blood test. If that is true, and the BAC (blood alcohol content) is below the legal limit, then Chief Miller has no reason to worry. On the other hand, if this was omitted, then there definitely is a coverup.
Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?
Right before he left SBRP, Drosnock received a call or text from a neighbor who noticed someone on his property, picking up items from the accident. Drosnock returned to find Chief Miller, collecting his stuff. He never bothered to ask for permission to go onto Drosnock's property, but was apologetic.
Miller had come in a black and unmarked police vehicle
I have called Miller about this matter, but he has declined to speak to me. Where was he coming from? Had he been drinking?
I do know that Miller was charged on 4/14/10 in Ocean City MD with driving under the influence. At that time, he as a police officer in Washington Tp, Wilson Borough and for the Bangor Area School District.
In Maryland, when someone is charged with DUI, the arresting officer hands him an Order of Suspension, which becomes effective on the 45th day after arrest. I do not know whether these Orders are handed to out-of-state drivers. If so, Miller's license would have been suspended in early June of that year.
On June 28, 2010, Miller pleaded guilty, but the judge placed him on a program called "probation before judgment." After successfully completing probation, the charges are dismissed but they stay on your record forever. It appears Miller successfully completed this program because the charges were dismissed. There was no suspension.
The following year, in 2011, Miller was charged with assault, terroristic threats and harassment following a domestic dispute with his then wife. According to a criminal complaint, he had grabbed his wife by the hair several times, choked her, pushed her to the ground, into kitchen cabinets and across a table. She filed for protection from abuse, and Miller was ordered to give up his firearms.
The charges were ultimately withdrawn.

From other incidents easily found on YouTube, (corrupt) men in blue will often look the other way as part of a "code" - meaning there are different laws for citizens and LE officers. Total bull sh**.
The new Da was a Philly cop so the Northampton County cops may all get a break.
He is white, not guilty !!!!
Once again, Bernie, you provide outstanding and timely reporting of local news. If only the Morning Call was willing and capable of this type service to readers. Crimes were obviously committed with this incident and violators punished . . . no matter what the violator’s employment.
I suggest the Police Chief resign with public apologies to everyone affected.
Reads like SBRP needed serious nudging to do their jobs. SBRP should be investigated. Who knew what and when did they know it. If they tried to protect a dangerous drunk who shares the roads with me and my loved ones, I want them fired and criminally charged.
You are taking big risks here
I think you are better off If you never drive in that area again,
I am sure they are looking for you to harass or arrest for some fake charge.
Thank you for covering this. I'm glad the homeowner is okay.
all animals are equal, but some are more equal...
Milleransky may have been visiting his mentor in NJ. He should resign in the middle of the night under a moon of suspicion like him too!
4:39, The new DA has no qualms about prosecuting cops and has done so. Thank God he is our DA as opposed to the racist who tried to inject partisan politics into everything.
7:05, I will have to use different roads to visit my buddy in the Slate Belt lol.
6:54, my hope is they did the right thing. If they failed to seek a blood test, it is a cover up
if he hit an occupied building and left the scene thats a misdemeanor, and along with alcohol also more criminal charges , and the stove could of killed the sleeping resident so that be another criminal charge for reckless endangering a person
Sometimes an individual, even a Police Chief, does something to the eyes of citizens that tarnishes his/her character in a lasting manner. That behavior causes the offender to work under a cloud of suspicion, lose full public trust. Damaged goods. To maintain respect for the position, and his own personal integrity, this man really should offer his resignation. Immediately!
I know that it's a minor bone of contention, but Scott Miller didn't "choke" his wife. He f'ing strangled her. A person chokes on food. A domestic violent perpetrator strangles his victim.
Not only is the Chief trying to cover this up, he now corrupted the entire police department. Charges should be filed and must be filed against anyone assisting the Chief in this arrogant abuse of the laws. These cops assisting him should have a conscience and do the right thing. Not to do so is only further corruption of the vows they swore to uphold when they took the oath to uphold the law.
Hitting an occupied building is a misdemeanor, the District Attorney needs to open an investigation or forward a request to the State Attorney General Office to do so if he feels there is a conflict. He placed this man and his family in immediate danger not to mention the damage to his property. What if it was not a pellet stove but a gas line? or a pipe for a furnace? This is just so wrong from so many aspects. How does anyone do this type of damage and fails to report it and gets away with it? How do you be a decent human AND EVEN KNOCK ON THE MANS DOOR IF YOUR SO INNOCENT? How did he NOT tell his employers that he was arrested for DUI in Maryland? If the DA fails to look into this the corruption just goes up the ladder. Where are the traffic and criminal charges? Morganelli would have been on this and done the right thing. Let's see what this new DA does. Also interesting did anyone also contact the Municipal Police Training and Education Commission-MPOTEC in regard to the Maryland DUI and how did he fill out his paperwork? Did he state he was never arrested? Police officers must disclose arrests. Did he plead guilty? All I can say is what a low life and to think this scum has a badge is scary. The man should immediately go to the PA State Police Barracks and file a complaint.
And we wonder why police officers are disrespected and looked upon as lawbreakers with a badge and a get out of free jail card in their wallets. This guy is a fine example of that conclusion. He needs to be drummed out at the least. Talk about entitlement!
Welcome to the Slate Belt. No press coverage and no way to hold local government responsible or accountable. Corruption reigns and it is propped up by the local elected yokels. The silence is deafening.
Bernie, please submit this to the Papers, the DA, hell, even his Masonic Lodge. This man needs to be exposed, and the corruption that coincides with it. Just because he is the Law, does not mean He is above the law!
The Board of Supervisors of Washington Township.
Mr.Robert Smith
Chairman
Mr. David Hess
Vice Chairman
Mr. Carl Tolino
Supervisor
Let the area see what kind of men these guys are. Any man with worth anything would do the right thing and terminate this guy. What was Miller doing? His badge left and uniform at a hit and ran accident? Coming back in a taxpayer owned, Washington Township unmarked police
car? Any responsible elected government official would have this "Police Chief" terminated anywhere else in a heart beat. So Board of Supervisors, if the wife beating and DUI are not enough? Now he crashes and almost kills an innocent family right in their own home-beds and ran away. That is not enough to rid the Township of this loser and scum of the earth? This is a pattern of a derelict that obviously has some serious mental issues and is a psychopath and able to buffalo shit you all into believing its everyone else at fault? Imagine the man who has his house hit and could have killed his family by a drunken police chief to ever complain or speak out?> Imagine the horror of that? Supervisors- ENOUGH- MAN UP AND TERMINATE THIS LOSER
Supervisor's Smith, Hess and Tolino.... the entire region is watching if you will do what is right or be as corrupt as the rest. SHOW YOU have integrity, ethics, a moral compass and values. This man is a train wreck headed for a nuclear disaster. No public official should be above the law. Remember you three men- Ethics, integrity, morals and values. Don';t place your good name and families name in the same low level this man is at.
Supervisors Smith, Hess and Tolino. This must be addressed head on. All eyes are upon our township and how this is and will be handled. Do the right thing. We have a problem that needs to be addressed immediately. If he doesn't resign he needs to be removed.
This message is to Dave Hess, Carl Tolino and Mr. Smith. I know two of you your whole lives. Do not place or allow your integrity and families good name be brought down by Millers behavior. The facts are the facts and the result is obvious. This is the man- Miller that is suppose to "protect" us. You three need to protect the township and region from HIM. This has been a long time coming. This man is mentally unstable and before he hurts someone else he need to be gone.
Bernie, Were is the NEW District Attorney? You and I know he and his peeps read your paper everyday. Why the silence? A corrupt unstable cop who has infected not his own but another Police department and Chief with his actions? The DA needs to man up! JM would have been on this turd named Miller like stink on hidi ho- I would think the Chief Law enforcement Officer of the County of Northampton would be investigating this Chiefs actions and the officers involved behavior and handling of the debacle. The public demand NOTHING LESS then a system without police corruption. Here on MLK day- We want justice! what is next on Miller's path to destruction and who gets hurt next?
To the Washington Township Supervisors,
Please take this situation seriously. You can see from all of the posts that this new blog has received that there is an outcrying coming from our community. All of us who have left a post are sitting here without a voice. That is where you come to our rescue and be our voice. We need the 3 of you to be strong and address this professionally and ethically.
Dear Washington Township Supervisors
Take a look at the damage that was done to the house. And read what could have happened it the pipe to the pellet stove was damaged any more severely than it was. Mr. Miller would be looking at manslaughter charges. This is ridiculous that this situation is being addressed under such tight wraps. Wfmz is working on breaking the story with the possibility of it being on their news as early as this evening. Mr. Miller's reign is over. It would be in the township's best interest to get ahead of this before it breaks through on news media.
Nails, homemade explosives, drones and now this. This is not the type of representation we want connected to our township. The FBI had to come in last time to clean up what the local police department could not. Supervisors - let's show everyone that this situation will be handled correctly inside of our township. Do the right thing.
We need answers! If any one of us local citizens would have done this we would have thought of nothing else then to knock on the door of the house and report the damage . This stinks of a cover up. If he hadn't been drinking he would have done just that and this blog wouldn't even exist. All information points to him drinking and driving. Can't wait to see this on the local news because I'm sure there are many people out there unaware of LV Ramblings. I was one of them until this story broke and I was notified by a friend to reference the website. Great job Mr. Bernie! You did the right thing. Now let's hope the township follows your lead!
Is this the kind of men that are members of Portland Masonic Lodge 311?
Here are the officers and phone numbers. Give them a call and ask them why do they allow such shame brought upon Masonic Order, the work of masonic lodge in Portland and the members? This "brother" and behavior is shameful to the Lodge. How can you belong with such shady actions with a track record?

These types of attacks on private citizens and there homes are acts of domestic terrorism carried out by representatives of the state. This putrid pos probably had a grip with the people he rammed his car into there home while claiming his drunken fit was an act of GOD and he slipped on the ice. This is total bullshit making up a story line after the fact, pitchforks and torches are needed for this cross burning of public figures at the stake.
Why hasn't this hit the news? This is a major failing of a police chief, department, town,......
How about as a chief, promoting your son to sergeant, only a couple days before the sergeant promotional eligibility list expires, after having just fired a sergeant mere days before, who was on a paid suspension for quite awhile? Why rush the termination now? Hmm? Help run a campaign, donate to campaign, make chief...
Certain circle of friends.
We need to come out in numbers for the next supervisors meeting. Scheduled for Wednesday February 12th 7 pm and held at the township building. Let's go get some answers.
Wait. What? I haven't missed a public meeting. No one has been sworn in before the board. Behind which closed door did this occur?
"I would think the Chief Law enforcement Officer of the County of Northampton would be investigating this Chiefs actions and the officers involved behavior and handling of the debacle."
There is no doubt in my mind that Terry Houck is looking into this matter. He is a prosecutor, not a persecutor, and has an obligation to be fair. His office does investigations, but primarily is a prosecuting office. I believe the failure to notify the homeowner could have resulted in that person's death. Moreover, the accident by itself is probable cause for a blood test.
Bernie,
You mentioned the homeowner is a sound sleeper...so he didn’t hear a truck hit his home but you expect him to hear a knock on his door?
Can you say with 100% certainty neither the officers that responded or Miller didn’t try to knock on the door to contact the homeowner? You also say Miller returned the next day to the scene to gather his belongings...doesn’t sound like someone trying to hide or flee a scene. Just trying to look at both sides.
The homeowner reported seeing footprints "walking in a circle" and also reported no trace of footprints coming to or up on his porch
We'll soon get breaking news that Chief Miller has retained John Waldron as Counsel. When you're innocent, hire any competent attorney to represent you. When you're guilty, hire John.
10:54am:. Care to respond to 11am?
Don't reveal what debris was left behind, service revolver? This should be looked into by the state police
"You mentioned the homeowner is a sound sleeper...so he didn’t hear a truck hit his home but you expect him to hear a knock on his door?

Drosnock tells me he is a sound sleeper. He tells me there were footprints in the light snow that had fallen, but none of them lead to either of his porches. He is certain no effort was made to contact him or to leave a note as required by the Pa. Vehicle Code. This failure could have had deadly consequences. That pellet stove could have gone over. There could have been noxious fumes. Drosnock might have been sleeping in an area where he could have been injured. As a police officer, Miller should have made every effort to notify him, even if it meant breaking down the door. After all, he had already done quite a bit of damage.
This was an emergency. Miller had no way of knowing whether Drosnock was in danger and had an obligation to use every effoirt to notify him. I am 100% sure that did not happen. More importantly, Drosnock is 100% sure that did not happen.
I never accused Miller of fleeing. I accused him, and correctly, of leaving the scene without making an attempt to notify the damaged homeowner. Frankly, this conduct was reckless and endangered someone's life.
As for the SBRP, if they failed as well, that is simply outrageous. Their first priority should have been the safety of the homeowner. If they were at the scene, as you have stated as some supposed neutral observer, why is it that SBRP officers who responded the next day knew nothing about the accident? Cover up?
An accident by itself is probable cause for a blood test. Was there a blood test? I have two stories. Perhaps you can tell me bc I am sure you are Miller or one of the cops who failed to do his job.
Also, Miller's return the next day in an unmarked police vehicle to trample all over this guy's property at a crime scene, and without permission, is the height of arrogance. It's another indication he thinks he is above the law he is paid to enforce. That alone tells me all I need to know.
"Don't reveal what debris was left behind, service revolver? This should be looked into by the state police"
I have no information that a service revolver or gun of any kind was found at the scene.
What a coincidence. Same attorney as Muzzicato aka Slate Belt Unibomber.
Show of hands. How many readers have attended a Washington Twp. supervisors meeting? I attended one a few years back and Miller and Zoning king Scott egos took up much of the room. Only 4 other folks in attendance. One was reporter John Best and myself. That left the elderly couple as the only two residents in attendance. What an ego stroke fest of the highest order. I will have to say that Scott and Miller were neck and neck for I'm in charge here folks. Scott got his, now its Miller time! To be honest I wasn't impressed with the whole bunch, including Ceraul.
Double order of sunshine please.
Living The Dream?..... What a bozo.... He should not be wearing a uniform. How does someone get to be Chief with this track record? HE NEVER DATED A GIRL THAT COULD NOT TAKE A PUNCH......Sure take the Township police car back to your crime scene to look for more evidence.
How long was he at a bar drinking? Surely the evidence will be on video and it can be used against him says 1 Adam12...
Wow, I've never seen so many "jump to conclusions" since the Russian collusion hoax. Nowhere does it say SBRPD is covering anything up. Its a police matter and that always requires an investigation to ensure it is done by the book. Its great to anonymously call names and puff out your chest, but how many of you will attend the next meeting and PUBLICALLY call this guy the names you are calling him. My bet, less than one.
Besides, its all going to end up with a resignation, the guy will keep his taxpayer pension and his record expunged. We've seen it all before and no one can change it when arbitration is led by former police.
“Perhaps you can tell me bc I am sure you are Miller or one of the cops who failed to do his job”
Unfortunately, you’re incorrect which makes me question the validity of all the assumptions that you are making. I think the title of your blog maybe correct “Fake News” you seem to have a lot of information which could be true or not but there is one thing we all can be certain of...there was an accident, a tow truck recovered the vehicle, the police arrived and made decisions on what they believe to be the case. I wasn’t there, you weren’t there, the homeowner was home but didn’t even realize his home was hit so maybe we will never know what really happened!!!
I never miss a meeting. I contacted wfmz who said they were able to check the public record and there is nothing filed in regards to any occurence on January 5th regarding Miller or in regards to property damage on Kesslervilke Road. Lift rug. Sweep under. And I will be at the February meeting to see if this subject is discussed.
Wfmz is aware that he was there prior to the incident. Supposedly they are checking their sources and Woody's is one of those sources.
"Unfortunately, you’re incorrect which makes me question the validity of all the assumptions that you are making. "
You were already questioning them. Listen, I've been around a long time, and know when people like you are playing games.
Honestly, I’m not a cop, lawyer, Chief Miller or anyone involved with this case. I’m just a person like you, that has a right to their opinion.
The only fact I’m sure of is that I was not there nor were you. So like me, you are hearing things 2nd hand & making your assumptions and “reporting” them as your truth.
Just think back to the time someone made accusations about you (which were false) and you sued her for defamation of character and won a hefty settlement. I can’t imagine what you felt when those things were said about you...I just think we all can have our opinions but that doesn’t make them true.
11:55 I agree- no one ever impressed me either- especially Ceraul. All big fish in a small pond!
Barney Fife AKA Chief Miller should resign. How do you hit a house and not make sure the homeowner is contacted? Whats on the body camera's for when they interviewed Miller by SBRPD? The tow truck driver? The bar he was at? Was or wasn't a .BAC taken? He is an appointed public department head and yes he is made accountable for his actions. Beating your wife, driving DUI now a second time? This man should only be in a uniform of a crossing guard or mall security.
Maybe the Board of Supervisors can explain why this goof when arrested for DUI in Maryland was not suspended nor an investigation concluded? I know why because he was on his knees and also kissing Renaldo's butt and that is the reason why he lost the election for supervisor. Why did they not step back and call PSP? This smells worse then a tune in the sun on a hot day. The boys think they have pulled a fast one? Wait till the FBI is knocking on the door with a RICO complaint. Laws broken, this man's property damaged and his civil rights to his domicile violated by a law enforcment officer- TWO days in a row. One during the accident and the second when he returned to hide what he could.
1:31, like I said, you are either Miller, SBRP or one of their flunkies. As I also said, I have been doing this a long time and know when someone is playing games. That is you. Based on your idiotic logic, no one bit Miller would have the right to say anything.
Sounds like your defense strategy, chief Miller.
Well... look at the bright side of this... Chief (Barney Fife) Miller can take up a new career besides mall security or marriage counselor.
I can see it now...."Miller's Home Repair/Renovation & Landscaping". Call about our January Special for Drunk drivers who bounce off the road into someone's house. If you have hit a house in your DUI accident call Scott Miller, proven loser. Reasonable rates that will make it easier along with your fines levied by your DUI /traffic fines or the ex wife domestics. Call ask for the Drunken Bozo at 610-588-1524. Tell em Gwozdz sent you.
I am very sure that there was remnants of the rainbow unikorns this guy had shooting from his anus as he waddled around in the yard left on the grass. There no denighing from the pic that he prefers to be flipped over and taken from behind.
Sometimes you feel like a douche loser and sometimes your just born that way... Cheer up Scott it is not so bad.... everyone knew you were a douche loser before the first DUI or wife beating. Just think of your resume. Look what you have done for law enforcement on the local level. Your NO leader, mentor or respectable man. You have NO integrity.
@3:07 - just because he's gay should not be brought to light.
An off-duty Roselle Park, N.J. police officer fatally shot himself after crashing his car into two parked vehicles in Matawan on Sunday.
4:31, actually, the failure to use all means to notify the homeowner tells me who should be ashamed. The homeowner could have died!
Miller also got a girl drunk in his home and tried to force her into a sex act. she passed out and didn't remember if anything happen. He was investigated for that too, but again got off. when she complained he told her, "you don't know who you're f-----g with". Well Mr. Miller, we Do. A real nut case!
There you have it. At 5:10, the anonymous poster stoops to a comment suggesting suicide. And the admin, now 4 hours later still has it up. THAT is shameful. Anyway you look at it. I hope the police officer gets help. And I hope the assinine comments on this post are proof to everyone that freedom and responsibility go hand in hand, for a police officer and a anonymous blogger.
The Washington Twsp. police dept. reminds me of the now defunct Upper Mt. Bethel Twsp. police dept. No leadership, rogue cops- you see how that ended.
9:17, I did not read this as a suggestion that anyone commit suicide or I would have deleted it. I read it as an indication of the stressful nature of police work, a comment with which I agree. Suicide rates among law enforcement are very high. I also understand no one is perfect. I am a perfect example. I could understand sliding off a road. I could understand being embarrassed about it. I do not understand the failure to notify the homeowner immediately. This could have been a real tragedy.
5:10 wasn't suggesting suicide. They were simply commenting about an unfortunate situation where someone took their life. If you Google Matawan police officer you will find the article. Sadly, this officer chose a very drastic measure.
Washington Township should consider state police coverage. It would be at a huge savings of over $600,000 per year! The Express Times published an article showing what PSP coverage would cost a township or borough. That's a large savings and possibly a very easy solution to avoid future "good old boy" antics from our police.
Are you daft? Since when can't one person choke another? Hence, the term "chokehold."
Thank heavens they didn't taint the International Order of the Friendly Sons of the Raccoons!
what about Millers part time officer arrested by SBRPD for starting a fight in a garage while wearing his bade and gun, you must have an OTN before the Twp PD will hire or promte you, and the other part time officer i heard was fired from lehigh county for hacking into a computer
Can you name this officer? I will check it out.
@ 6:58 Daniel DIETER, just Google tyrannical cop Northampton County, Lehigh Valley live. Covered the story
Daniel Dieter was charged in that incident with disorderly conduct and harassment. The case was transferred to Magisterial District Judge Robert Hawke, who conducted a trial on 8/7/17, and acquitted Dieter on both charges. Dieter was represented by a very capable MARK Minotti.
https://ujsportal.pacourts.us/DocketSheets/MDJReport.ashx?docketNumber=MJ-03301-NT-0000334-2017&dnh=KZM%2fnD7qB64asw97Q5hjfg%3d%3d
Hey Bernie, I may be mistaken but wasn't the judge a retired cop?
I found the article and read it. How he was ever acquitted with witnesses to such an immature act by a police officer is way beyond me. But at the same time, I'm glad it's been aired here to remind us all of the incompetence that has been going on and ignored for years. All of these antics will hopefully remind Washington Township residents to come out to not only the Feb 12th supervisors meeting but all future township meetings. We need to join together to let them know we know all of their past and current antics and we want answers from the supervisors as to where we go from here.
The article on lehigh valley live, dated 2017, shows a 2019 update. Do we know what was updated?
i believe the one fired from Leigh county is officer leadbetter
Unofficial update: tyrannical Dan is still on the streets terrorizing and extorting the taxpayers of Washington Township under Millers command at least the airport and Wilson Borough had enough sense to get rid of him.
Who is responsible for overseeing local police, they should be notified of this departments ways before it get the twp sued or worse.
Wow! What a drama queen Tyrannical Dan is! Over a scratch on his pickup truck. And they say women are the emotional ones! Of course, it's the likes of Dan and Co. Who say that. Wow.
WTPD has completed a thorough and transparent investigation concerning the allegations against Chief Miller and the department and determined no wrongdoing. Now sit down, shut up, and pay your taxes. Forever Yours, Chief Miller
A Twp cannot do their own investigation, that's corruption and will set them up for liability, they have to request an outside agency, PSP to do one, or the DA who will either do their own or refer it to the AGs Office, or depending on the issues at hand the FBI, with that Mr. Miller has brought all his officers under the scope and they should look at him, also his masonic ties, I'm no cop, but I can tell you the Masonic Fraternity will dump this guy no matter the out come with his Twp. Bernie may not have all the facts, but he has brought to light enough that the residents/tax payers of the Twp should demand an unbias investigation into his misconduct. A giant black eye on Washington Twp. PA , Police Chiefs, Police Officer, Free Masons, and every citizen who abides by the law and pays taxes. Now im going to watch Steven Seagal's movie, Above the Law, seems fitting.
Well said.
Good luck plumstead twsp! Chief cover up Mettin made your number 1 pick!
To be fair, Chief Mettin is a class act. I think his officers let him down.
The chief is ultimately responsible.
The DA's office.
To that I say that he should call in his boys and get to the bottom of the cover up. As someone said earlier, who knew what and when. The Chief will ultimately be held accountable if his boys failed to uphold their oaths as officers.
If Chief Miller really did write this....Mr. Miller, thank you for another smug, arrogant and cocky stance on this entire situation. Oh and see you February 12th. Let's find out if WTPD truly did do their due diligence. Your reign as Chief is about over. Now you sit down and shut up.
It's time to bring in the real professionals, Pennsylvania State Police. Upstanding police protection and a savings to the taxpayers. Winning and winning.
Bernie, just so we have this correct... your saying there is body cam footage of one officer to another that alcohol was involved? If miller refused to give blood, wouldn’t he be charged with general impairment? Are you able to get the video?
At Bernie 6:51
Mettin is an act, no class. Apparently he’s got you fooled too!
Waiting on the edge of my chair for some feedback on this posting. Would be interested on who the 2 SBRP officers were. Who said they smelled alcohol and who was told that the other officer smelled alcohol? If Miller refused to take a breathalyzer and/or a blood test, wouldn't the next step be for the SBRP to take him to the hospital and get the test done?
I trust that our county's DA will get to the bottom of this for better or for worse.
With extreme caution, Lehigh Valley Live has finally picked up the story. DA is now involved.
After reading Lehigh Valley Live it is apparent with evidence that Miller crashed a car into an occupied residence and left the scene, DUI or not a crime was committed, and the resident could have been seriously injured of worse, How can the Twp he works for at this time allow him to work and lead officers, his past clearly shows bad charater and a criminal history, he brings shame on his fellow Masons , officers and Chiefs, The DA has more than enough to bar Miller from ever filing criminal charges agin which would force the Twp to release him, or pay him a a civilian to run the police, which would again hurt tax payers more, what is it going to take to remove this guy, a dead body, the FBI, this guy is a menace
In the LVL article, photo #1, that is no plastic rim...that is a broken aluminum wheel. Geez, imagine the force it takes to break a wheel.
If I am not mistaken the house is or was on his left hand side if he was traveling home. With that being said he had to cross the yellow line and traveled into oncoming traffic and possibly hitting another vehicle before leaving the roadway and crashing into the house.
I hope the DA gets all the Police officers texta between each other since this occurred. Further the tapes and witnesses from the bar he was driving that night. Obviously this my turn out with bad cop behavior taking badges off of not just Miller. Everyone that was involved is suspect. This could turn out that the coverup by others is as bad as the initial crime itself. The SBPD has tarnished it's credibility badly. Some resignations are in order.
He is cocky as ever folks and says they have nothing and cannot do anything so those writing can kiss his ass.
To 8:48...He can be as cocky as he wants to be. He's going down. There is tons of evidence and if it's true that he made that comment to you it was made out of complete fear. He is about to lose his job and hopefully his pension.
LVL article..left the scene? I don't see that.
"Bernie, just so we have this correct... your saying there is body cam footage of one officer to another that alcohol was involved? If miller refused to give blood, wouldn’t he be charged with general impairment? Are you able to get the video?"
I am reliably informed there is body cam video and it does indicate one officer telling another he detects alcohol. But we now know that SBRP determined there was no need for a blood test, in spite of the accident. It is clear to me they were helping a brother officer cover his tracks.
5:10 Your inference is not appropriate nor appreciated.
9:03 there is tons of evidence...let that determination to someone else...
It will be determined by someone else. The DA's office. You know, the office that Miller never thought would find out about his little accident.
Makes Trethaway seem like a boyscout!
I hope the DA goes and takes pictures of his vehicle. That wheel is busted in half. Why is Miller hiding thw car at the tow company. I am sure the bar he was at will show how many he had. The SBPD officers should be terminated as well.
Hey Bernie Did you ever ask Mr.Class Chief Mettin what happend to his Lt. And Sgt who were fired for stalking and harrassment against the female officer in the Department?? Yup that happened and not a word about it anywhere.

Bernie, This is worth some follow up too. As I understand, it just occurred in the City of Bethlehem not very long ago...
Slate belt PD and Washington Township are both Corrupt
It is my understanding that a petition will soon be circulating to switch to PA State Police protection. I myself will be signing said petition.
From what i hear, this is going to get pushed under the rug and miller will get off and the supervisors will give him a raise. I'm sure that if one of the officers under him did this he would have had them fired. First duty at accident. call the police not a tow truck. that the law. He should be fired or demoted.
The new DA is not going to do anything. He's not JM
I realize its well after the fact, but maybe since it has been reported in the newspaper that an attempt was made to notify the heavy sleeper homeowner and confirmed by the homeowner that he regularly sleeps with earplugs and could have slept through it all, maybe, just maybe you could retract the accusation that Chief Miller left the scene and maybe, just maybe, apologize for suggesting he should be charged with attempted negligent homicide.
I'll wait.
Two Slate Belt Regional Police (SBRP) officers came to his home. They could see what had happened.
"We don't have any report about this," they told him.
This statement was directly from the homeowner. After he got up the next morning and called 911. The officers that responded stated there was no report. The homeowner also reported seeing footprints going in circles BUT none leading to or on his porch. Miller clearly left the scene. He also failed to report the accident to 911/police. The tow truck driver called. He took every possible step to make this go away.
Why the hell is Miller still working. He should be off without pay till the DA finishes his investigation. "Oh" I forgot, he is above the law. Just ask him!
