Feds May Be Looking at Multi-Defendant Indictment

As regular readers know, I usually take off on weekends. People may love to read the Sunday newspaper, but my experience is that this blog's readership really plummets between Friday and Monday. But on Friday night, I reported that Allentown Attorney Scott Allinson, also known as Donor No. 4, has emailed his friends to say he expects to be indicted. He predicts that the Grand Jury could charge him as soon as this week. If they do, I expect we are going to see a multi-Defendant indictment and possibly a RICO prosecution with Mayor Edwin "Fed Ed" Pawlowski at the center. My guess (and I stress this is just a guess) is that, in addition to Allinson, a local developer will be charged.

I also expect to see Feds wrap up their case in Reading. Vaughn Spencer, Sam Ruchlewicz and Rebecca Acosta are loose ends that likely need to be tied up.

There's little reason to delay. An weekend op-ed by Fed Ed makes quite clear that he's in complete denial. Whether he is guilty or innocent is one thing. But even he has to see that his continued presence in Allentown government has placed it in a stranglehold. Yet he's so arrogant he has scheduled a party at Cedar Beach for his campaign workers. That's the same venue where a swimming pool contract is completely out of control, thanks to him. That's also where Allentown kids play basketball while he removes the hoops.

If the feds act now, a federal judge could conceivably require Pawlowski's resignation as a condition of bail It could require him to withdraw as a candidate. But after August 14, it will be too late

They have a short window in which to act. Let's hope they do.

Updated 3:30 pm: Allinson's law firm has been contacting colleagues and clients to advise that an indictment will be sought tomorrow morning, and it will involve more than one Defendant.

Keep lighting those torches and sharpening those pitchforks. Mayor Ed is going nowhere. You will need to find another dog to kick post election.

Bernie when u say loose ends in reading do you mean Ruchlewicz and Acosta are going to be charged?

Bernie O'Hare said...

I think so.

Anonymous said...

Bernie how about donor #1 Rosen? And the northeast guys?

Anonymous said...

What happens aug 14?

Bernie O'Hare said...

That is the last date upon which a candidate can voluntarily withdraw.

Anonymous said...

Pawlowski is so arrogant he will never withdraw.

Bernie O'Hare said...

Agreed, but if charged, a federal judge could insist he resign as a condition of bail or schedule a trial very promptly,as happened to Seth Williams. It is not likely, but possible.

What did Acosta do? I thought the husband took the Bribe and went to jail?

Bernie O'Hare said...

We will have to wait and see. The bribe in question was for his wife's MDJ campaign. I think they already have her wrapped up.

Anonymous said...

You think Pawlowski's wife will be indicted?

Anonymous said...

Who is Sam Ruchlewliz?

Bernie O'Hare said...

Sam R is a consultant who worked with Fleck. He was wearing a wire, too.

Anonymous said...

Of course Mrs. Pawlowski will be charged.
She handled the $$$ and is a co-conspirator by any definition.

It's time to end this farce.

Bernie, you've done it again. I hope you're right.

The mayor is scheduled to join a guided tour of quality of life issues in Allentown's Tenth Ward Tuesday night. If he shows,it wood be the perfect time for the Feds to pick them up.

Also, I know that no matter how big a person thinks he is there is always someone higher on the totem pole that one fears. I've been asking around to see who that person might be in Pawlowski's case. It's been suggested that he might fear people in the trade unions. Do you think Johnny Doc might induce him to rresign? (Meant tongue in cheek, but only partly.)

I'm gonna' be at the Tenth Ward walk.
I have a few choice words for the man.
Should be lots of fun.

Bernie, any rumor of anymore City employees being indicted?

THE BONEHEAD MAYOR IS FROM CHICAGO, NEED YOU SAY ANYMORE.

Bernie, an astute prediction. Sam R. was the driver for Pawlowski's campaign trips and was Fleck's bag man on many errands. When Fleck went down and started to cooperate, Sam R. also did. RICO is most likely on the menu and "Fed Ed" is the ring master! "Fed Ed's" mobbed-up attorney, the erstwhile Jack McMahon, has him believing he can con a jury like the citizens of Allentown or a cooperative guilty plea will result in only a stiff probation. This will hopefully wrap up shortly.

Will Lisa take a fall?
Who is her attorney?

The more complex, the easier it is to stop up the process

Anonymous said...

So what did Rebecca Acosta do?

Anonymous said...

There is a four year statute of limitations on RICO cases which starts as soon as the plaintiff (USA in this case) discovers their injury/fraud. This would mean, according to the criminal complaints, that the statute for RICO in this case is almost up as it began in December of 2013 with the Issuance of an RFP for Tax Collection services.

Bernie O'Hare said...

Your statement of the law is incorrect.

Anonymous said...

"In a significant U.S. Supreme Court decision regarding the statute of limitations in civil RICO actions, the Court in 2000 held in Rotella v. Wood that the four-year statute of limitations period begins as soon as a plaintiff discovers his injury, regardless of when the fraud causing that injury is discovered"

Anonymous said...

@11:39... Rotella is a Civil case that limits the time a person has to sue for civil damages when someone is
convicted under RICO. It does not limit the governments time to bring charges against someone who commits the crime. You need to read the case and stop drinking the koolaid!

It appears as if the Fed's are perhaps getting some heat to wrap this up but I wouldn't say they are close to charging the Mayor. What they have appears to be light. Perhaps dragging him into a RICO conspiracy is their only move. There have been a considerable amount of people hurt by all of this but I don't see this wrapping up any time soon....

People are being hurt every day by this criminal.

Why are you protecting the Fleck political consultants? How can you slam this stinking mess including Fleck, Sam R, while ignoring his entire operation? Are you covering for people? Did someone get to you? Are there other politicians you are protecting involved?

Anonymous said...

@3:45PM You're full of questions. I have one for you - what are you talking about? Have you been following along? This has been going on for two years. You sound woefully uninformed. Perhaps you should read the indictments previously issued, and some news articles or Bernie's posts on what has already occurred. Or... wait until tomorrow morning, and your ? may be answered.

Bernie O'Hare said...

I have been deleting attempts to slur some of the good people who worked for Fleck and were victims as well. This person is attempting to make cheap political points against whom ever is using these former Fleck workers. That is not even remotely the story here.

Anonymous said...

Who is the developer that fits this ticket?

Anonymous said...

We have been reading for years about how Pawlowski and Fleck are going to jail. Pawlowski has not even been charged with any crime. Mr. O'Hare continues to throw out names and charges, even implicating his wife. Your hate is obvious. People then ask about others involved or possibly involved and that becomes taboo. For a blog that throws around names and charges it seems somewhat suspicious when so much time is spent suppressing any discussion of others involved with these people. There must be more of a back story as to why you are so protective. Are these possible blog sources and if so are the Feds aware of that information? No one has asked for names but you are very secretive. Are they working in some fashion for politicians you support? All fair points.

Anonymous said...

@4:53PM Bernie is not the story. The story is Pawlowski's involvement in a scheme that has already seen multiple indictments and guilty pleas. Are you following along? An attorney implicated in a related scheme has stated he will be indicted tomorrow, and there will be multiple parties in it.

Why are you attempting to cast aspersions on Bernie? He's just reporting here. You appear to have a hard on for Bernie. Maybe waiting until tomorrow is a good idea so you don't have crow for brunch. Or not. Only time will tell.

Anonymous said...

I think everyone is shooting into the sky hoping to hit something. This is what happens when you have a major issue like this. I think we need to wait for the Federal prosecutors to finish their work. Neither Bernie nor anyone else out there has the entire story. Despite the alleged leaks, the Feds know things neither Bernie nor his sources know. The Feds also know the sources and their sources.

People throwing stones at some people, protecting other is just silly. So far no one has been completely accurate on this and you can be assured the Feds will have a few surprises even for those who think they know everything.

Check out the mayors FB page.
He's a sick, twisted goon.

Ed can look the whole world dead in the eyes and lie (while Lisa looks on, beaming).
It's a talent.

Who is the local developer?

Anonymous said...

"Who is the local developer"? That is the right question. The rest of this is a smokescreen. This probe is going deeper... There are bigger fish.

Anonymous said...

Mayor Pawlowski has not been charged with anything.

Anonymous said...

Yet. The keyword is yet. After he is charged you will say that he has not been convicted. Once he is convicted you will say he was wrongly convicted.

Anonymous said...

BO is the developer reilly?

Bernie O'Hare said...

No. Not even close. And as I told you, my belief that a developer is being charged is just a guess.

Anonymous said...

How about AA?

Bernie O'Hare said...

Did you read what I wrote? It is purely a hunch that a developer is being charged. I could be completely wrong.

Anonymous said...

The mayor haven't been charged, so as of now he's just a lying, grinning, bible thumping, sleazy, incompetent, self agrandizing, egotistical, vindictive, beady eyed little tyrant, motherfucker.'
Fair enough?

Anonymous said...

Bernie, If your guess is correct AA would appear to be the most likely developer because of his deals with Fed-Ed. If that would happen, the local municipalities would rejoice because of the way he attempts to bully them.
