Bethlehem Schools Will Negotiate ArtsQuest TIF

... according to Northampton County Council Prez Ron Angle. He claimed, at the end of a Finance Committee meeting yesterday, that Bethlehem School Board President Loretta Leeson had called and is willing to talk, but not until next week.

I wonder if she'll be limited to three minutes.

The folks Leeson orderd to speak only 3 minutes at recent school board meeting should attend this meeting and sit there with stop watches, glaring.

It occured to me that if BASD hadn't been so hot to trot on their own "Swaptions" mayne they wouldn't be in such a financial pickle.

Eh, the nonsense about Leeson just takes away from the fact that TIFs shouldn't be financing non-profit ventures.

In these financial times, it's hard to argue for the school district or any taxing body to do so.

11:34 is spot on.

I find it utterly amazing how NON qualified neophytes like Leeson and Angle sit on these Boards and have the power to make decisions that impact the taxpayers coffers by millions. It is scary that someone can put a sign up in their yard and go knock door to door and be voted in to make these decisions. Anyway, I guess I should look toward Washington DC and that will answer my question.

Nothing is stopping "qualified" people from running for these offices. The thing that does stop them is doing something for nothing and taking an awful lot of crap. You should be thankful someone is willing to do it at all.

Everybody is an expert from afar...why would anyone want to be in office and take the abuse that Angle and Leeson take ? They are only doing what they think is right..gimme a break!
