Northampton County Child Placement Increasing

Last year, Northampton County budgeted for the placement of 220-225 children. But according to CYF Director Kevin Dolan, 239 children were under the county's care by November, when budget hearings started. According to Dolan, the bad economy and drugs are the main reason. In some cases, both parents are imprisoned and children are left with friends who themselves are drug dealers. Dolan also made clear it is impossible to refer these children to some other agency. Without CYF, these children would be on the street.

Throw those kids in the street! Taxes need to be down! Mama needs an inground pool!

And I thought addiction was a victimless crime??

The County is pumping millions in money the State doesn't require. Human Service spending is out of control in the County.

There is no oversight of the Division heads and that is obvious at the staff level. They pretty much spend on whatever they want and it doesn't appear anyone at the Administration level is asking any questions.

Yet you failed to appear at a single budget hearing to voice this concern, proving you are full of shit and will snipe only if you can remain anonymous.

Yeah, right. An employee is going to go public. In a month you will find yourself sorting papers in the basement of the Wolf Building and you would defend the Administration for doing it.

It is a shame that at one time you cared about what employees said but now it is only important if it is kissing the Administrations ass.

I don't care for people who lie, whether they work for the county or not. if you truly area county worker, you know there are several council members who hate Stoffa and would only be too happy to spew your venom if it had any validity. The fact that they have been silent tells me you are full of shit.

Anon 12:22 AM,

Whatever.

And innocent children are dying by the truckload every minute because there is no universal health care, right?

Why don't you wail about the children in Afghanistan?

Why are the parents in jail? Was that the best solution? Or are they just more meat for the prison system/law enforcement jobs program grinder. F the kids. Lock up everybody and call it a drug war. No layoffs for judges, cops, COs, POs.

Mom and dad get hammered on martinis each night: no problem; kid may get into Harvard with judge's kid.

Mom and dad smoke weed: lock 'em up; set an example; take away the kids; celebrate with several martinis and demand increased funding for the war on drugs.

OPnce again Ohare throws the employees who do not drink the Administration kool-aide to the wolves.

County Council members that care are aware and they tried to help and you attacked them too.

You are a hypocrite.

The Office of Children and Youth is out of control. They are way over budget, so much so that Stoffa funneled a few extra million in County dolaars to get them through the year.

Time to start managing the crises instead of just mindlessly throwing money at it.

The above comment is posted by former Reibman hallwalker Bob Daday, who lost his marbles when Stoffa stopped him from soaking the taxpayers with unemployment.
