The three names mentioned most often for Northampton County Executive are incumbent John Stoffa, County Council Prez Ann McHale and former Director of Human Services Ron Heckman. Their year-end campaign finance reports, however, reveal their cupboards are bare. None has raised any money. All report a campaign debt.
Ron Heckman started and ended 2008 with $2,011.47 and reports a campaign debt of $1,000. Ann McHale started the year with $1,262.13, raised no money, and spent $729 on contributions to different groups. She contributed to no candidates. She ended the year with $533.13 in the bank and a campaign debt of $1,000.
Incumbent John Stoffa, as I've already told you, has a whopping $65.63. His campaign debt to himself is $14,500.

Don't the Express-Times and Morning Call have to be listed as in-kind contributions for their fawning softball coverage.
They do for Stoffa.
Hey geniuses, controversy and political dirt sells papers. Stoffa is clean as the falling snow. Get over it!
I love the pic. Even now that I am living on almost nothing, I still make sure I have a few leftover scraps for the old possums that visit during the night. It is a pleasure to see them. I can't say the same for most other people.
The MSM love Stoffa. It is nice for him, they are completely in the tank and wouldn't look under his rocks to save their souls.
Please, keep it up. Every time you post one of your hate-filled attacks, you just make Stoffa look better.
The County employees are hungering for a change and can't wait to get rid of Stoffa.
Your rants have made Stoffa look a lot better to them, as I've been told the past few days, so thanks.
Bernie, this is off topic, but was that you in the courthouse cafeteria today with Vic? I saw the two of you walking out.
Jazza
Yep. I saw Vic in the cafeteria and we exchanged pleasantries as I deftly stole his wallet.
"Stoffa is clean as the falling snow", haha!!
You mean as clean as the yellow snow. The guy has a closet full of secrets. The papers have rolled over for him. But his mancrush friend O'Hare is deluded if he thinks the employees have forgot the lies and broken promises of the campaign Stoffa over the elected Stoffa.
Stoffa nad Falk will be long gone by this time next year, Thank the Lord, if you are so inclined.
I am not so inclined.
I would like to see the amounts spent during the campaign remain at the level in their campaign chests at this time. However, that cannot happen if you are Ron Heckman. Stoffa is the incumbant and McHale has (thanks to Paul (no relation) a lot of name recognition. McHale and Heckman could split much of the Bethlehem vote which might tip the scales to Stoffa. However, the party structure hates Stoffa, so that can be a problem for him in a low turnout election. To win he might need to become a Republican..As much as you think he'll win easily, he won't win if he doesn't raise and spend money. Heckman always pulled well county wide in primaries so his Bethlehem loss means nothing. The county and Bethlehem races are two distinct and different animals. SHOULD BE FUN...
That is a possible sceanario. However another is that McHale swamps Heckman and Stoffa in Bethlehem and Stoffa and Heckman split north of Rt.22.
Remember in his last County election Heckman came in second to Wayne Grube, no mean feat. He has a great up County name and Stoffa would be foolish to take him for granted in the Northlands. Checkout all the Heckmans in the phonebook plus I saw him at a couple fairs once during a campaign and the guy is related to everybody up there.
So if all three are in it, could make for an interesting race. Actually, I would be interested in what their platforms would be and how it would all play out.
