As election day draws closer, mailboxes are getting more and more mailers every day. Today I got two. One was from Jeremy Clark, who is running a positive campaign for judge. The other is from Amy Cozze's campaign, which has been a bit more negative.
The mailer from Cozze arrived in an envelope and is actually a letter from former US Senator Bob Casey along with a nice little palm card containing on one side "NORCO." That's actually the abbreviation I started using years ago for Northampton County because I got tired of writing Northampton County. NorCo is much easier and is kind of neat. So Cozze is actually using my abbreviation. Don't tell her or she'll stop.
Some of those who received this mailer, which was paid for by the Pa Dems, believe it means that they've endorsed her. Let me clear that up. They've endorsed no one in the Exec race. What the Pa Dems did do is allow her to use their postal permit so that the letter costs a little less than it would have had she done it herself. Zrinski did the same thing in a colorful flyer she sent out just as Mail-in-Ballots started to go out. It was "paid for and authorized" by the Pa. Dems.
The letter from Casey was a nice gesture, but as one of my friends noted, many recipients will never see it. They don't like opening political letters, and many probably have landed unopened in the recycle bin, assuming they actually recycle. Sadly, they will never see the word "NorCo." This letter certainly helps her campaign, but not as much as it could have.
A better move would have been a splashy post card that included a picture of Cozze, who like Zrinski is rather photogenic.
Both of them look a helluva' lot better than Lamont McClure or Tom Giovanni. Even Bob Casey is prettier than those two, and he looks like he's been embalmed. I realize this is very sexist on my part, but if you are an attractive person, let people see it.

If only you had trademarked "NorCo" you could be raking in some dough for its use.
Which leaves me at a loss as to why you insist on posting your mug on this blog....
Why bother posting anything that is neutral?
Bernie will go with the Czarinski and keep trashing Cozzi to help his McClure choice win….now this triggers responses and makes him a few dollars on the side.
I think Hanover Twp, Northampton County got there a long time ago, no? HaNorCo vs HanLeCo?
I agree- even though he'll deny it, he's supporting the worst candidate possible- Bullhorn Zrinski, a political lightweight, and a McClueless puppet.
I don't know how you can even compare those two women. Amy a women who worked hard and made herself something and is proud of it . Compared to Tara who just made it sound like she was a victim her whole life. Oh I had to do this I went through this. Could only buy a house at 50. We don't need Lamont 2.0
And to say they are both pleasing to look at???? Now I can tell 100% you'll do anything for Tara which is actually for Lamont
Be careful what you wish for.
ok amy's wife, thanks for chiming in with your drivel again
Zrinski is a terrible choice!
Amy’s drivel is far better than the Czar’s screaming and chanting!
It wasn't Amy's wife who wrote that. It was a county employee who just listened to both of them speak. And it was obvious who is the better candidate all around. Tara had no idea what she was talking about weather it was the jail or gracedale. How are your kids enjoying that daycare gracedale nurse's??? Lol. Tara actually admitted she was getting handed a pile of sh-t from Lamont. But she will be able to keep the secrets going. This county is on a collision course for a big crash. Lamont is getting out because he knows it's coming. Will just be able to blame it on someone else.
If you want to vote for the best person for the county, the best person for your tax base, the best person for county services vote for Amy.
And said writer is a male not a woman
Probably a CO who is a Republican and can’t vote for either. And I still find it funny how people say Amy worked harder. Again what makes her qualified? She was having issues running elections which she admitted when she demanded a raise. If she had that stress in elections what will happen if she has to manage and entire County? Let’s face it there were others more qualified for the Casey job but she got it because of her wife.
LOWV Guide (printed in MCall) today. Lots of 'no response' from candidates. Word around the water cooler is that many candidates never received a request to fill out the candidate form. Do some digging. Bernie.
