Cozze Receives Late Contribution From Warehouse Developer

According to 24-hour reporting, NorCo Exec candidate Amy Cozze has added $1,000 to her coffers in the form of a donation from Jack Muschlitz. In addition to being an excavator, Muschlitz is planning two industrial warehouses in Moore Tp.

Although Moore Tp's zoners rejected Muschlitz' appeal for relief from the zoning ordinance, the Commonwealth Court has ordered an evidentiary hearing.

Cozze has also accepted $4,000 from the Pektor family, which has built numerous warehouses in the county. He also took in $1,000 from a luxury apartment developer.

In a debate, Cozze scoffed that "conserving open space as a way to combat warehouse development is just lazy policy."

I must agree that open space conservation is not a real solution to warehouse proliferation. It’s easy to spend taxpayer money to.buy developments rights to a few private properties - to say you are doing something. It really does little to address the issue at large.

Muschlitz is fighting to destroy Moore Township and the 512 corridor through Bath and Bushkill. I wouldn't do business with his shitty company if there were no other options. He is a scar on the northern tier of the county. But we figured Cozze and Zrinski hated us already. Choose neither and vote Republican.

Preserving open space by acquiring environmentally sensitive land, adding to our parks and trails and by buying agricultural conservation easements is a goal in and of itself. It enhances our quality of life. There is very little a county government can do to prevent warehouse proliferation bc county government has no zoning power. But one thing it can do is purchase open space and add its dollars to other municipalities and the state to preserve our land with a goal of preserving about 25% of the open space. That is far from "lazy policy". In fact, the county did purchase some lands from developers. Cozze's slur on open space is an attack on one of the things county government does well. Since John Stoffa's election in 2006, the county has set aside $3 million a year precisely for this purpose. County government is quite limited when it comes to land use. That is the province of smaller governments. But the county has also worked to encourage that there be more multimunicipal agreements to assess impact fees on proposed warehouse development. Its policy is far from lazy, and that was perhaps the most stupid comment she made during the debate. It highlights the starkest difference between Cozze and Zrinski.

He sold out to the Goffredo family

I'm all for preserving open space, but there have been many questionable County purchases over the years with politically connected people. Example: about 10 years ago, the County purchased land that was both wet & very hilly in UMBT, and paid an exorbitant amount for basically useless/ worthless land.

The biggest issues:

Zrinski has more experience in office. That may be good or bad depending on viewpoint.

Cozze has more federal experience. Just not a lot.

Zrinski’s earlier pledge not to run for another office during this term.

Cozze’s damaging and unnecessary comment about land preservation.

This is why I voted for Zrinski. We don't need to return to the John Brown days, when he reduced funding for Farmland Preservation.

That's basically all Lamont himself has done. Throw money at it. The parks and land preservation programs have done good work, but that credit goes to the staff. Everything else, from trying to strong arm the sludge issue, picking a fight with LVPC, kicking out the conservation district, has made the county more fragile. If the next admin comes in and reduces open space funding, what is left? Just reduced capacity and a whole lot of rebuilding.

It’s a primary. You dosnt “go republican” Stop the Bullshit

Easy win for zrinksy don’t think it will be close but for sure we don’t need anymore warehouses. If Lamont did one thing good he def gave it his all trying to buy and save open space.

Politicians taking money that the answer to all our problems.

@11:44 AM - Cozze has some fancy ads out, well produced. I haven't found myself thinking Zrinski could win easily - I hope she just wins.

"An exorbitant amount?" Bullshit. The county can't pay more than market value for land.

Tara is a hard worker. Fancy ads won’t combat that. I mean she drug Lori across the finish line the last two times they ran together.

yeah its a wonder what Washington money will do for a shitty candidate to make them look presentable.

It was worthless land- the owner was an insider and got rich off of shit land!

Zrinski is unqualified to be dog catcher- she's propped up by McClueless & Barron. Her staff does all the work, and they prep her before council meeting. Her next gig will be running for Boscola's office, once she retires!

Zrinski is just an opportunist, I just can't support her.

Who cares? These developers contribute to everyone. After watching the debate, I switched to Cozze- she had command of the issues, and destroyed Zrinski.

Cozze got smoked. Vote Giovanni in the general!

@6:30PM You may be of the opinion that Cozze won the debate, but voters had the opinion that Zrinski was the better candidate. On to the general election.
