Have You Received Your Mail-in Ballot (MIB)? Part 2

In my story yesterday about MIBs, I told you they just started going out late last week. I received my MIB on Monday and have voted. Some of you jumped on to complain that, though you received emails telling you that your ballot was in the mail, you still have not received it. One of you actually blamed the county because you are still waiting for your mail.

Last time I checked, Northampton County delivers no mail. That's the postal service.

At the end of the day yesterday, I was informed that the county has received 46,201 MIB applications. All but 2,400 have gone out. If you received an email informing you that your MIB is on its way, and you don't receive it, call the elections office at 610-829-6260.

If you never get your ballot, you can cast a provisional ballot at your voting precinct on election day. Elections officials will check during the official canvass to make sure you have not already voted by mail. If you have not, your provisional vote will be counted.

Got mine on Monday. Filled it out and put it in the drop box yesterday. I actually received two emails saying my ballot was on the way, one from the county and one from the PA Dept of State.

I also received an email stating my ballot was sent seven days ago. That was yesterday. I'm aware of six others who received a similar email. Those who've reached out to NorCo elections have yet to receive a response. I'll give it a couple of days. But it's difficult to believe this isn't orchestrated to make voting more difficult.

10:36, This is bullshit. The elections office answers calls. I called after receiving your comment and someone answered almost immediately after the recording. The elections office began mailing 10/2. On Friday and Saturday, most of the ballots went out. The suggestion this was orchestrated to make voting more difficult is outrageous and I believe you are attempting to undermine public confidence in our elections. It's also incredibly stupid. Why on earth would a Democratic Exec try to make it more difficult to cast a mail-in ballot when he knows that most applicants are Democrats?

The ballots could not go out with the military ballots, which are approved separately and under different law. The MIBs cannot go out until the Department of State approves the ballots and it is unable to do that until all the lawsuits filed are finished. As soon as the DOS gave the green light, the ballots started going out.

It is entirely reasonable to expect that a ballot mailed on Saturday might take a few days. Stop being absurd.

Another day; mail came; no ballot. And yes, the county is dragging anchor. It's not the post office. They can't process what they've yet to receive.

"We started mailing ballots last Wednesday afternoon, and we have been doing so every day since. I would expect you would see your ballot shortly.
