Late Friday afternoon, Executive Lamont McClure announced the appointment of Nicole Pietrzak as the county's Acting Director of Administration. She replaces Charles Dertinger, who resigned following a disastrous election. She has only been employed by the county since May 2022 as the Deputy Director of Human Resources. She has a BA from Kutztown in Political Science.
Pietrzak has zero experience providing direct management oversight of Administrative Services, Emergency Management Services (EM & 911), Weights and Measures, Agricultural Extension, Farmland Preservation, Conduct of Elections, or the Conservation District. She does have experience in negotiating collective bargaining agreements.

She sounds like a cabinet candidate for the unfortunate possibility of another Trump administration
He picks people that will do what he wants. No competition. Back to his insecurities. What he misses is that as a leader pick amazing motivated people who will add to your team and challenge the status quo
For all his faults, Charles Dertinger knew how to manage people and had an in-depth knowledge of construction and building maintenance.
I find this choice of candidate confusing.
An acting administrator can serve for six months. I personally think an Exec is entitled to his own people because they are exempt (political) appointments and he should have people in his inner circle with whom he can be himself. I opposed Brown's Director of Admin bc she was woefully underqualified and was subject to several liens. I opposed a Stoffa pick for fiscal be he had a history of financial irresponsibility. But I see nothing disqualifying in this person's background. I do think she is inexperienced except in HR and labor negotiation. But this is not, in my view, disqualifying.
