Julian Stolz has resigned as a school director at East Penn in reaction to the public hue and outcry over his dating life.
Updated 7:50 PM: He has also resigned from Lehigh County's Republican Committee. In an email to GOP Chair Wayne Woodman, Stolz states that "[a]lthough I have done nothing illegal, I do not want my personal history to be a distraction for Lehigh County Republican candidates in the election coming up in just a few weeks. Therefore, I hereby tender my resignation as a member of the Lehigh County Republican Committee effective immediately."
Today's one-liner: “In a republican nation whose citizens are to be led by reason and persuasion and not by force, the art of reasoning becomes of first importance.” T Jefferson

Julian Stolz May Have More Haters Than Me
![]() |
| Stolz stalkers sneak a pic while he is at work. |
Break out the pitchforks.
Because they're cowards, most of Stolz' enemies are anonymous. They set up a hate blog called "The Stolz Report". I won't link to it, but it invades his privacy in nauseating detail. If he farts, one of them is there to smell it.
Their latest revelation is that Stolz, who was only 20 when he was first elected to the school board, dated a 15 year old girl for four months, with her parent's permission, while she was a student in his school district. They apparently ate cake and sang. There's no proof that anything inappropriate happened while she was under age. There are denials that anything inappropriate happened. Because she was a student in a district where he was on the board, Stolz thinks he should have resigned. Not me. The fact that she was a student in his school district is no more troubling to me than a school director who has children in those schools. If it's a conflict for Julian, it is a conflict for them.
Apparently, she and he are an item again. Good for them.
More disconcerting is the claim that, as recently as last year, he became "friends" with a 13 or 14 year old girl on a teen dating site that he joined when he was a teen himself. There's no evidence that he actually contacted her. As Julian explains in a way-too-detailed account of his own personal life, most of the people he met on that site are now in their 20s, like him.
So despite one pissed off school mother who condemned Stolz' "disgusting behavior" at a school board meeting last night, he appears to remain at large.
Emmaus mothers, lock up your daughters!
Stolz' love life is hardly what Lehigh County residents should be thinking about right now.

Tricia Mezzacappa Too Nutty For Julian Stolz
Tricia Mezzacappa is so nutty she's even too much for Emmaus School Board Director Julian Stolz.
Here's a nice little twitter exchange between Julian Stolz and NorCo GOP Council candidate Tricia Mezzacappa. Once again, she demonstrates an abnormal fascination with the use of deadly force over the rule of law. Incidentally, I was told last night by Matthew Dees that DA John Morganelli has approved a criminal harassment prosecution as a result of her Internet impersonations of him, which she has continued after his requests to stop.
@TheStolzReport I would say this is a civil, invasion of privacy matter, but the docket fee is $135.50. I'd rather buy the hollow point ammo

@TMezzacappa Trish, darlin', I'm friends with Bernie. If he says you're a mentally ill racist, you probably are. Get some help and meds.

Stolz Running For Emmaus Mayor To Protect America
Most people pass through life like a cloud. You don't even know they've been there until they've faded away. But every now and then, a sharp bolt of lightning livens things up for everyone. Julian Stolz is one of those lightning bolts. He's running for Mayor in Emmaus. He's also running for Borough Council. That way, he can veto his own resolutions. Though he lives in Emmaus, he still sometimes comes to Northampton County Council meetings. I met him when I first started blogging and he first became an East Penn School District Director. He's managed to piss off just about everybody over this time, so I like him. I may disagree with him on just about everything, but we bastards have to stick together.
He calls his bid for Mayor a "lifelong dream," but it hasn't been a long life. He's about 12 years old. He claims his "devotion to the cause of Liberty and the Constitution demanded that I step into the ring." He talks like that and even sleeps in a three-piece suit.
He's taking on Winnie Iobst because Hizzoner has signed onto Mayor Mike Bloomberg's Mayors Against "Illegal" Guns coalition. Now, I think Julian would shoot his eye out if he started packin', but there it is. First they take our guns, then they take our Big Gulps.
He's also concerned about drones.
Julian promises to go back to "afflicting the comfortable (Teacher's Union) in the East Penn School District" if Winnie pulls out of Bloomberg's coalition.
"Til then, I am basing my campaign on Community, the Constitution, and Capitalism.
"Community - If elected, I will strive to serve the town where I enjoyed a wonderful childhood and where I have made my home as an adult. I will listen to and use the bully pulpit of my office to give voice to all the citizens of Emmaus regardless of social standing, background, or partisan identification.
"The Constitution - This is what compelled me to run in the first place. While our rights are under assault Nationally, we must stand up for our Constitution locally.
"Capitalism - This past year, the borough passed a budget that included a tax increase. The tax increase was considered "necessary" to adequately fund our fire department. As a proud resident of the borough, I believe our firemen and police officers should receive everything they need to do their jobs and I might have been inclined to support this budget if it had not contained thousands of dollars in grants for private businesses in the Emmaus "Main Street Partnerships". At all levels, the tangled relationship between business and government is strangling our Republic and economy."
He signs his announcement
In Liberty,
Julian Stolz

Prinzinger's Gorr & Severson Connection
In August '06, Upper Macungie Township Supervisor Tom Gorr sent shockwaves through the Lehigh Valley blogosphere when he suddenly resigned under a cloud of suspicion. It was rumored he was abusing township credit cards. A few months later, the state ethics commission ruled that, in addition to this playing with township plastic, Gorr failed to file the appropriate ethics statements. He was fined $4,000. Without authorization, he even charged the township for the cost of two laptops as well as some college classes. He's b-a-a-a-c-k.
Behind the scenes, he's attempting to steer Lehigh County in the wrong direction. Who knows? Maybe he could use a few county credit cards.
His Lehigh County protege, at least for a time, was Commissioner candidate Mark Prinzinger. Yeah, Mark is the dude who hates the nonpartisan stance that incumbent Percy Dougherty takes on most county issues. He'd like him to be more partisan and divisive, just like Northampton County Council.
Whoopee!
And now he has just the outfit he needs to run a sleaze campaign directed at Percy. Who might that be, pray tell? Why it's none other than Precision Marketing, which just happens to be owned by Scissorhands Severson, King of Sleazeball Politics. Amazing! Mark and his campaign manager are quite indignant about Julian Stolz' sloppy campaign finance reports. But they have absolutely no problem using a political consultant whose campaign antics are under a very real investigation by the state AG.
Gorr & Severson. Yeah, Prinzinger must really be interested in good government.
Don't believe me? Here's an excerpt from an email that Prinzinger himself sent to potential donor Bob Guzzardi on January 27.
"Lastly I have been in talks with Tom Gorr. He was Jim Lansceks campaign manager for the last primary race that Percy Dougherty was in 4 years ago. Tom has run a number of campaigns and has agreed to come on board with the Prinzinger camp. With that being said Tom has spoken highly of Precision Marketing out of Easton. They are the firm that help Jim Lanscek with his race and they produced some very high quality mailers as well as walking lit. I have set up a meeting with them next Tuesday at 10:30 am. I was wondering 2 things, 1 if you would be interested in coming to the meeting to see what they have to say about a plan and 2 how you feel about going down the road with a consulting firm instead of the original game plan we discussed at your office. I would also like you to meet Tom Gorr sometime. He seems to have a vast knowledge of campaigning as well as the make-up of the district."
The Prinzinger camp may deny any Gorr connection. But their decision to use Precision Marketing indicates they are listening to him, no matter what they say.
Sometimes irony has a way of being pretty damn ironic, eh?

The Passion of the Stolz
OK, he's not exactly Jesus Christ, but he sure as hell is getting crucufied.Julian Stolz is 21 year-old conservative political activist, college student and blogger who managed to get himself elected to the East Penn School Board. Like most kids, he tends to speak first and think later. This gets him in trouble as a blogger and clearly drives his fellow elected officials cRaZy. To be fair, Julian has been an effective open government advocate. Twice, he's persuaded peers to reverse course over arguable Sunshine Act violations. But Julian is learning the hard way that politics is a dirty business. He's being crucified over at Pennsylvania Progressive by another youthful political wannabe, Joe Haas.
I first met Joe this summer at the Slate Belt Farm Show. He was working for then congressional candidate Sam Bennett, and his job was apparently to make sure she didn't step into pig shit. I say this because Joe tends to look at the ground when he speaks to people. I noticed that again when I met with him a few weeks ago for 3 1/2 hours.
Joe, who refers to himself as "SherlockJr," must think he's something of a detective. But this confused conservative turned Obamaphile is actually more like Judas Iscariot. This is where things get weird. Let me tell you the story.
Young Sherlock, Stolz, and Mark Prinzinger, yet another school board member, were at one time buddy buddy, three conservative peas in a pod. Mark's main claim to fame is his brilliant affirmative action bake sale at Kutztown University, designed to let Kutztown's three black students know they did not belong there. Those must have been the good ol' days.
Naturally, when Prinzinger decided to run for East Penn School Board, Stolz supported him, even to the point of publishing a favorable SherlockJr LTE that failed to make it into The Morning Call. Little Sherlock, by then a little Democrat, served as Prinzinger's treasurer.
But then something happened. Sherlock was annoyed that conservative Julian had no use for Obama. Prinzinger began to resent Julian's grandstanding and taking credit for things that both had worked on together.
You see, a mere school board seat is not enough for this recent Kutztown University grad. Prinzinger also has his eyes on the seat currently held by Lehigh County Comm'r Percy Dougherty. So he's running for that seat as well as his school board seat. Whee!
Sherlock the Obamaphile and former Bennett campaign worker is Prinzinger's campaign manager in a battle to paint Percy Dougherty as too damn liberal. You see, Dr. Dougherty actually listens from time to time to Democratic arguments. He tends to approach county issues in a fairly nonpartisan manner. That's not conservative enough for Prinzinger, who is using a Democratic campaign manager to ... well, that beats the hell out of me.
Then there's that school board race. Julian is getting in the way. He's doing all those things conservatives love - burning ants with magnifying glasses, alienating school board members, promoting charter schools and Stop Teachers' Strikes movements. He wears double breasted suits with elephant boxers to bed.
Well, there's only enough room in the East Penn School District for one right wing ideologue. So Prinzinger and Young Sherlock started looking for dirt. Fortunately, they never found out about that night I spent with ... never mind.
As Sherlock, aka Joe Haas, puts it, "I did some digging. ... [T]here would be delicious irony if evidence showed that this supposed fiscal conservative and transparency watchdog was as corrupt as he had so frequently and recklessly accused others of being. While at Lehigh County Voter Registration a few weeks back, Prinzinger and I requested to see Stolz's finance reports. We were shocked by their incompleteness, shoddiness, lack of coherence, and general sloppiness. Frankly, they demonstrated a reckless disregard for the law."
I met young Sherlock a few weeks ago and looked over those ancient campaign finance reports from 2006 and 2007 for an unpaid state committee seat and the school board. Shocking! What they reveal is that Julian is an idiot who does not know how to add. They also reveal who contributed to him and how he spent his money, so he always kept the public in the loop. His violations are de minimis.
After a 183 comment war between Julian and Sherlock, Jr on Topix, Julian called me and told me he was amending his reports. Good for him. He asked to meet with me to go over things, but I decided to ask Sherlock to join us, too. That way I could see if Julian really was a "corrupt" politician. Intense cross-examination would probably crack him. And 27 year-old Sherlock brags he'll be graduating any day now, summa cum laude, from KU. But Sherlock refused, even though I offered to buy his brunch. That tells me a lot. He has no interest in seeing that the right thing is done, but is just focused on smearing Stolz.
There are now no less than three blogs penned by Sherlock at Pa Pro nailing Julian to the cross as "corrupt." A ridiculous StolzWatch blog has suddenly appeared, too. All over a school board and state committee seat, neither of which pays a dime.
This story tells me much more about Julian's enemies than Julian himself. They're vicious people who even slammed community colleges in their effort to take out Julian. "It is disconcerting that a community college student is in the position to affect the education of the children of the EPSD. Julian's educational status reflects poorly on his aptitude and work ethic, and gives some explanation for his ignorant and erratic behavior as a school board member."
Well, la de da. Pardon me, do you have any gray poupon.

East Penn School Board: We Don't Need No Steenkin' Sunshine Act!
East Penn School Board, located in the Emmaus area, had a school board meeting last night. It even posted an agenda on its web page. Isn't that nice? But according to school board member Julian Stolz, it will also be conducting another, four hour, get together this evening at Emmaus High School's cafeteria. After a nice little dinner, the board will set its long-range goals. You won't see this on the school board's web page because you're not welcome. This "retreat" is private, baby. No plebeians allowed.
Whether you call it meeting or retreat, this little soiree is also a violation of the Sunshine Act. A meeting at which school district goals are determined is an establishment of policy. I can think of few things less important to any governing body than the establishment of its long range goals.
You'd think the school board might be just a little interested in what the public considers important, but it apparently is just there to pay taxes.

Bloggin' on WGPA 1100 AM With Young Republican Julian Stolz
Chris "Blue Collar" Casey, founder of TrueDems, is an exception. He's no creampuff. He wants to come on the air, dressed like a leprechaun in spandex, and do some goofy step dancing. I'm sorry but Riverdance is the best proof yet that we Irish are idiots. It might interfere with all the chickendancers at WGPA. Also, I just can't seem to get through to Chris that no one will actually see his step dancing on the radio. They'll just hear some clicking noise and the sound of splitting pants.
So my guest is Republican Julian Stolz, a fellow blogger who publishes Right from Lehigh County. Julian represents the future of Lehigh Valley politics. He's a co-founder of the last remaining Young Republicans chapter in Lehigh County. He interned for State Senator Rob Wonderling in 2005 and was Desales University's Campus Chair for Santorum's failed reelection bid.
Now he's in the running for the East Penn School Board. But most important, today is his birthday!
I'd like to ask him how local Republicans have managed to keep a stranglehold in western Lehigh Valley while losing everywhere else. Maybe we can pick up a pointer or two.
Feel free to call in with your insults on Thursday between 8 and 10AM. You can livestream, and your calls are welcome at 610-866-8074. You can even post your comments here and I'll read them on the air.
