NorCo Elections Offices on Live Dashboard For Results AND

Northampton County's Elections Office has provided two notices concerning the upcoming election on Tuesday. The first advises of a live dashboard from which you can follow results on election night. (It is my experience that the county website is the fastest and most accurate way to view results on election night). The second advises of the pre-canvass, which starts at 7 am election day, and the actual canvass (official count), which starts November 8.

Live Dashboard: The Northampton County Elections Office announces that unofficial election results will be available on a Live Dashboard on the county website after 8:00 PM on Election night, November 5, 2024. The Dashboard will reflect the unofficial results in real-time starting at 8:00 PM and will continue to be updated until every eligible ballot has been processed and counted.

Ballots cast by voters, either in-person or by Mail-In or Absentee ballot, are processed at varying times according to what is permitted by Pennsylvania Law. During higher turnout elections, this process may take longer to complete.

The unofficial results will not include write-in candidates’ results. Those will be reported when the canvass is finished.

The pre-canvass will begin at 7:00 AM on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. The official computation and canvass of the votes cast from the November 5, 2024 election will begin at 9:00 AM on Friday, November 8, 2024.

General Election results will not be official until they are certified by the Northampton County Election Commission.

Pre-canvass and canvass: Due Public Notice is hereby given that Northampton County Elections Office will convene at 7:00 AM on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, on the Lower Level of the Northampton County Government Center for the purpose of pre-canvassing the Mail-In and Absentee Ballots. The Northampton County Elections Office will meet in the Cafeteria on the Lower Level of the Northampton County Government Center, 669 Washington St. Easton, PA, at 9:00 AM, on Friday, November 8, 2024, to begin the official computation and canvass of the votes cast from the November 5, 2024 General Election.

Both pre-canvassing and canvassing are open to the public and media.

What about all the news about Northampton County and the ballots carried into the courthouse? Did McClure really go after the guy reporting it?

I would prefer live cameras in the counting facilities.

They were carried in by a postal worker doing his job delivering ballots to the courthouse. McClure said to the guy who recorded it (who is running a write-in campaign according to his profile) that he should not spread disinformation. You can mail your ballot to the courthouse and several bins like the one in the video come in daily. McClure was right to call this guy out on his BS.

Really? I would have thought that this blog entry would have brought out more of the Trumpers protesting. They usually don’t like reality getting in the way of conspiracy falsehoods. Kudos to Northampton County.

Secure elections in this nation are a long way off. Still too many ways cheat at every step along the way. It’s a huge country. Naturally, every community thinks IT’S own system is bullet proof. It ain’t!

watch out, the MAILMAN might deliver the mail WTF is wrong with you people?

We could have that but the do Nothing LVH and republicans on council will block the building and the parking garage. I bet they finish the yer by not getting 1 thing accomplished, not one, oh and wait till you see the amendments to the budget that LVH is crafting with Giovanni and Brown.

SHUT UP already! It was a mail man. You should not be voting, for anything!

lol ok. Who is running around the country trying to get ballots tossed for unreal reasons? The republicans.

What party has a cult following of individuals purposely lying to media about untrue voting issues to try to cause confusion and issues with ballots? Republicans

Who is already filing lawsuits across the county for frivolous reasons? Republicans… sure the dems are doing “whatever they can”! lol stop drinking the kool aid, Trump has great concern of losing therefore he will start the “it was rigged” chatter now to get people like you all worked up.

We people mostly didn't say a thing about this issue

Looks impressive. So, why are we being told the final results may not be available for days in PA? Sounds really fishy, especially with election-denier Trump in court every five minutes. Florida goes faster in a state with 10 million more people. What gives with the anticipated delay statements coming out of PA?

No one has yet to prove any election has been compromised in any significant way. The only cheating is by candidates lying to voters. Yes the lying is the cheating. Let's fix that.

Good question why can't pa get it's act together. Early voting mail in ballots and still we look like idiots! Is it beci pa reps want us to look like the deciding factor in this election. Frankly it's embarrassing

It seems like every county in the great state of penna, is investigating something to do with the Election Bernie will you explain ti us what is going on?

The reason most votes will be unavailable for a few days in many counties is bc they are unable to start counting mail-ins until 7 am on election day, and the scanners used in many counties are slower than they are in come other counties. NorCo has several high speed scanners so its results will be up by 2 am. Philly invested in high speed scanners recently so its results should be available more quickly than four years ago.

Elections officials have urged the state legislature to allow them to begin the count sooner, but I think there is concern that early results could leak out.

I accidentally allowed a few comments that pushed some candidates. This post is about the election mechanics and I deleted the politics. I will allow everyone to weigh in on Monday.

Florida law streamlines the process, allowing ballots to be processed as soon as they are received and counted as soon as the county has completed public testing of the automatic tabulating equipment, which starts at least 25 days before early voting begins. The results are kept secret and releasing them early is a felony.

Pennsylvania, by contrast, only allows local election officials to start counting on election day. This causes delay.
