The proposed contracts are with the following bargaining units:
Court-Related Non-professional
Court-Appointed Non-professional
Gracedale Union
Residual Non-professional
Youth Detention Center
Human Services PSSU
All of these unions, with the exception of Gracedale, have contracts that expired at the end of last year. Gracedale's contract expires at the end of this year, but began negotiations early. These are all AFSCME-affiliated unions. Gracedale's contract has no application to Registered Nurses, who are represented by the Steelworkers.
McClure is currently negotiating with the following unions:
Corrections officers union
Deputy Sheriff Association.
About 70% of Northampton County's workforce is represented by a union.
On Friday, I will provide the details, assuming the contracts are approved.
In addition, Council VP Ron Heckman has directed that a resolution approving a Director of Treatment at the Juvenile Justice Center be placed on the agenda despite the myriad of picayune objections from Heffner, aka Super Shrink.

The Human Services PSSU contract expired 12/31/14.
Payback comes quickly.
It should be noted that AFSCME contributed to the McClure campaign.
They did. I noted it during the race. The corrections officer union is an AFSCME union, too, and that contract has not settled. i would completely support local campaign finance reform. In the form of an ordinance. Setting limits and barring contributions from entities that do business with the county. I have pushed them myself as long as 18 years ago. My only success was getting John Stoffa to agree to post campaign finance reports online, but that stopped bc elections officials complained that it was time consuming and taking them away from other duties.
The prison union was unable to settle and is now going to arbitration
So far as I know, it is still in negotiations. Neither side wants arbitration.
Arbitration is in March.
There was a vote with the C.Os on excepting what was offered or arbitration and it was a landslide on going to arbitration. The offer was ok but not for us. Our pay scale would only get worse and we would lose more officers. There also wasn't much of a negotiation they started at one spot and stayed. Basically we were told take it or leave it .
From my understanding Mr Mclure was not budging the sheriff dept and correction deserve more we earned we work for we have no life and yet we are not appreciated
