NorCo's $800 Popcorn Machine For Sale!!

On Monday, I reported to you that someone in Bangor is selling a popcorn machine. Then I defamed former Executive John Brown and former Administrator Cathy Alan by implying that they had stolen the machine and were selling it. Hey, I'm a bottom-feeding blogger. It's what I do. Well, you'll be happy to know that Northampton County's $800 beauty is still on the county campus. Deputies found it in Controller Steve Barron's office by following little kernels. He claimed he was auditing it, as pieces of popcorn fell out of his mouth.

Executive Lamont McClure has decided to sell it at public auction. You can see it listed at the Public Auction website, where it is described as a "Great Northern Black Commercial Quality Popcorn Popper Machine with Cart." It's being sold "as is." What's more, the successful bidder will have to load it up and haul it off himself.

Retired Magisterial District Judge Jimmy Stocklas wants it, and is the current high bidder at $100.

After unloading the popcorn machine, NorCo can sell a bunch of never-used biometric punch clocks.

By the way, whoever took that picture must have cataracts.

While symbolic, I think Lamont is acting like a child now. The purchase was a little too much but I am sure it could be put to good use. Hell give it to a homeless shelter instead of actimg like a trump and unoing everything the last adiniztration did for spite.

Great start Lamont.

Clean out the vestiges of the Brown Administration. They were a bunch of clowns who embraced non-transparency and ran afoul over the workforce. They indulged themselves in alleged lavish work travel, bought toys on taxpayers money, and helped themselves to gift cards. They deserve to be unemployed!

On the auction site the details of this machine pops right out at you!!

13 percent tax on the final bill is out rages.

In all fairness, the money used for the popcorn machine was from the wellness fund and approved by the wellness committee primarily for use at the annual wellness fair. In the past, popcorn was provided by a vendor which was no longer providing it. Employees always enjoyed the popcorn, which was a draw for attendance purposes, and had some minor nutritional value for it's fiber. The county should have kept the machine to get use of it over time. They will be practically giving it away at surplus sale.

I said it yesterday that it should be sold at auction. Nailed that one !

Now the platic silicone prosthesises bought and paid for with tax dollars should be deflated. I am very sure that a northampton county family of five could eat for a year on the SNAP benefits perpetrated and allocated supposedly for this popKoRn machine!

Wrong! It was in the wellness fund, but but it was PUBLIC money that actually came from the employees. The wellness committee was Amy Trapp.

It's stuff like this that's going to make me regret my vote.

Had you just reimbursed the county with donations or from campaign funds and kept the machine you'd appear an adult in control. Now you look asinine.

I think it's great. It's something that should never have been allowed in he first place.

The popcorn machine was comparable to other popcorn machines purchased in similar counties across the region by county funded wellness programs.

This metric seems to apply to employee wages and other expenses why not popcorn machines?

I agree it should have been privately purchased, but then I'd outsource everything and have no problem with the whole county being run from a call center in India.

Thank God people like you are gone.

Shows how ignorant you are O'Hare. Wellness money comes from the county's health insurance plan to promote wellness. And it was the committee that approved the purchase.

A wellness benefit from a popcorn machine? Fix the dam insurance so workers can use it without going broke!

This was a decision made by VOLUNTEER EMPLOYEES. So bitch on the committee that made the decision, not the past administration.

Bernie O'Hare said...

Wrong. It was made by Amy Trapp, who got rid of the volunteer employees.

Wait a minute, didn’t Bernie report on this trash blog that the popcorn machine was bought with taxpayer money? Looks like he lied once again. How unusual.

Now That's Not fake news. Why would employees want this? If it doesn't make sense it's or probably not true.

I reported correctly that it was paid for with public funds. It actually comes from the he employees‘ own health insurance contributions. Amy Trapp decided to buy a popcorn machine with it and roasted popcorn every afternoon for her office until what was going on came to the attention of this blog. There was a wellness committee, but trapp dumped them all .

Anonymous said...

Really? Who was on that committee that was “dumped”?

Bernie is just farting in the wind. Trapp did not disband the Wellness Committee. Show proof rather than your convenient lies, Bernie. The committee approved this purchase and was funded by the insurance company. Period.

"Really? Who was on that committee that was “dumped”?"

A judicial secretary, for one. In fact, I was tipped to this story by a judge, many moons ago. But I was under instruction to verify it independently. I did.

Ahh... a committee of one? You’re a moron.

There's still a wellness committee. There were Yoga classes held at DHS building until December 2017 sponsored by wellness. Your information is wrong BO.

Bernie O'Hare said...

The wellness committee was eventually formed again. At the time of the popcorn machine purchase, it was all Trapp. But it is just like her to blame others for her own errors.

Keep pushing your agenda O’Hare. I hope Trapp is printing out all of these lies. Maybe there’s a defamation case in your future.

I liked the popcorn machine. I just didn't like smelling it on the 3rd floor while going for the mail. Air of superiority. "Let them have cake".

But just because one person villianized the cake... erm popcorn doesn't mean we cant still use it for events. I like popcorn!!!

Makes me sad because as an employee I helped pay for it and now they will lose money by selling it.

Bernie You are such an ass.......Stocklas never bid on the machine at all..he could buy the entire company if He wanted too..stop all this fake reporting....
