Hearing on Easton Commuter Tax Tonight

Easton Eccentric reports that there will be a hearing at 6 PM tonight for public input concerning Easton's proposed commuter tax.  A vote is scheduled for July 25.

Updated 11:00 AM: I've was informed via comment that the hearing is actually next Monday, July 16. This has been confirmed by the City Clerk.

Do "We The People" really have a voice in this matter?

The Fleck-Panto Commuter Tax is a done deal. A resolution will be offered to rename the city's sewage treatment facility after these irresponsible fiscal stewards.

The Eccentric is incorrect - the hearing is next Monday, July 16 at 6 PM.

Are you sure that you weren't speaking to the Fleckster on the phone? He might be giving you a smoke screen ...

Gee Anon 8:23 still a coward huh? If the Wastewater Treatment Plant was named after me it would be a compliment you moron. WWTP clean the water that goes back into our streams. They are environmentally friendly and recycle water needed by all living things. For you the naming would be for toilets. Now that's not a compliment.

Wish they had a hearing on the Bethlehem Parking Authortiy parking meter,"great gouge". Clowns will screw up the downtown.

Of course this is all to funnel more money into the city coffers like the Admin has done for years.

At least Easton does thinhs in the open.

They should name an addiction center for the spend-crazy mayor. Any paperboys been beaten in broad daylight, today, Sal? What a walking mess.

Bernie -

Please tell me the comment at 3:57 is NOT the Mayor of Easton. I hate to think that the top elected official in Easton has time to personally attack critics, especially during what are supposed to be normal work hours.

Maybe he transferred to LVEDC and is already on summer hours?

Sal does not like anonymous personal attacks. I share that view with him. I am also glad he takes the time to reach out and speak to the people. That is part of his job, too.
