Bethlehem Tp Boy Scouts Learn to "Hurry Up and Wait"

Fifteen aspiring Eagle Scouts receives a valuable "Hurry Up and Wait" lesson before March 7's Bethlehem Township Commissioners' meeting. Although the meeting was scheduled to start at 7 PM, Commissioners were delayed about fifteen minutes by an executive session concerning "potential litigation matters," according to Solicitor Jim Broughal.

The scouts, who were welcomed by President Arthur Murphy, are members of Troop 317, chartered by St. John's UCC at 8065 William Penn Highway. Led by Scoutmaster Gary Volland, they've produced 3 Eagle Scouts in the last year, with a fourth on his way.

These young men all deserve our respect and admiration for their dedication to scouting and it's ideals. Unfortunately in this day and age, it's hard to find young people with any kind of goal other than the self serving. I certainly hope all these young men reach Eagle rank and continue their interest in their community.

It will be a welcome change.

Your disdain for the BSA is no excuse for slamming these young men. Anonymously, of course.
