Becky Bartlett publishes a blog called Upper Nazareth Township Meetings. My previous attempts to link to it failed, but I was finally able to install one last night. If you live in Upper Nazareth or the Nazareth School District, it is an excellent resource. She "covers these meetings because citizens have the right to know what their government is doing."
Unlike me, she is succinct.
Erratum: As regular readers of this blog know, I am an idiot. I know both Becky Bradley and Becky Bartlett. For reasons only my psychiatrist can tell you, I referred to Becky Bartlett as Becky Bradley in my original post. I apologize to both Beckys.
In any event, I want to recommend the Becky Bartlett blog as a great resource for Upper Nazareth and Nazareth School District news and the other Becky for a great understanding of demographic trendsin the Lehigh Valley. .
Today's one-liner: "The shortest way to the distinguishing excellence of any writer is through his hostile critics." Richard LeGallienne

Morningstar to Float $34 MM GPA Bond for 48 Residences
Morningstar Senior Living, once known as Moravian Hall Square, received permission from Northampton County Council last night to float a bond for as much as $34 million through the County's General Purpose Authority (GPA). The proceeds will be used to construct 48 independent living residences at its Upper Nazareth Township campus. These will be tax exempt, but the County shall in no way be liable for repayment in the event of default.
Ken Kraft was dubious. He questioned spending as much as $34 million for 48 residences. But his real concern was whether it would be built using local labor and at prevailing wages. Though he received that assurance, he was still unconvinced and was the sole Council member to vote No.
