Journalist Dan Merica, a co-anchor of the Early Brief at The Washington Post, has picked up on some of the more outrageous and Trumpesque social media posts that Pa. 07 Congressional candidate Bob Brooks posted before he announced his candidacy for the Democratic nomination. Of course, before Brooks announced, he gave his Facebook page a good scrubbing.
Although WaPo is kind enough to credit this blog for at least some of what I found, I got a lot of my material from Rich Wilkins' Apocalypse Vibes. He has a pretty good summary of his and my previous stories, which are now being picked up by more mainstream outlets after months of hesitation.
They didn't want to piss off Governor Josh Shapiro, who handpicked Brooks so he could get his hands on firefighter union campaign donations.
I don't know about you, but I tend to resent it when a Governor or the DCCC powerbrokers attempt to inject themselves in a primary.
Let us make our own mistakes.

Even with this he might still win. The other Ryan is also a Republican and worked for a union busting law firm. He also isn’t from here. Lamont seems to have given up and only raised twenty thousand dollars the past quarter. Did he give up or is he arrogant. Carol seems aimless and most voters have no idea who she is. What a disaster

I think that weirdo Crosswell bears more scrutiny. Not married. No kids. Rents an apartment. He has no connections to this community and he won’t stay if he loses.
I think most firefighters hate Democrats and think Brooks is a scummy failure who ripped off his own family. Firefighters are decent people. Shapiro and Brooks are not.
I've written seven stories critical of a person who wants to represent us in the US Congress because of his refusal to pay a judgment to his own family despite having the wherewithal, a shady property transfer, a shady financial disclosure, his refusal to meet with a local media outlet and MAGA Facebook posts that he has now scrubbed. He's a shady dude, and I believe people should know that before they vote. I also resent the idea of a Governor telling us how we should vote. All of the candidates have flaws, but he is by far the most flawed of them all.
Please don't try to make Lamont out to be this big union guy. He screwed over the unions in the county and all the residents loved it because taxes didn't go up. Know why taxes didn't go up?? Because he did on the backs of county employees. Union employees.... so sit there thinking Lamont is some pro union guy your crazy. He put this county in such a financial hole because of his actions. And ran when he saw the writing on the wall. The well has run dry on taking it from the employees and he doesn't have to pay the consequences, he pushed Tara into that spot. Not even going to wish you good luck. Because the only luck your wishing for is a a way to screw the employees again.
What happened to all you folks who love a centrist? Crosswell is just that. And, oh no, a single man, what's wrong with him? Grow up, there are plenty of married people with kids who are scum.
Why would most firefighters hate Democrats? Dems are more likely to approve infracture money which includes firetrucks, etc. I don't get that.
Yeah he’s not blemish free either and I find his issue to at least be as concerning maybe more so than Brooks. One of those two will win and likely be swept to Congress on a blue wave.
Brooks is so full of shit. Another do nothing establishment democrat, backed by the establishment democrats in Harrisburg and DC. He'll fit right in. To bad there's no actual progressive in this race. Just four candidates all trying to show how moderate they are so they can line up behind Hakeem Jeffries, Chuck Schumer and the rest of the useless democrats that stand for nothing other than being "Anti-Trump". Brooks will end up being just like John Fetterman.

LOL I was being tongue in cheek, but 7 stories is starting to get a little obsessive. Brooks was against Colin Kap kneeling, apparently you can’t run as a democrat if you were against the kneeling so that’s what they’re hitting him with now. He’s also some what pro gun so that’s a big no no with Dems.
