District Attorney Steve Barratta told NorCo Council's Courts and Corrections Committee last week that "it's a bit of an embarrassment" that the county has no child advocacy center. He acknowledged it's a "heavy lift" because a center for victims of child abuse needs both space and forensic interviewers. Most counties the size of NorCo do have child advocacy centers. He noted that Lehigh had a very vibrant center, but thanks to attacks by Controller Mark Pinsley, Lehigh Valley Hospital pulled out and the center was closed.
He indicated that NorCo and Lehigh might work together to establish a center .

Doubt it will mean much in Northampton. There was a panel regarding child abuse and heard the county has not even bothered to finish a memorial to a deceased victim of sexual child abuse.
it looks like every county but Northampton.

So let’s see how much this council expands government. Increase in staff and wages at the JJC. A Child advocacy center. Gracedale!! The question not if they’ll be a tax increase, but how much??
I think this is a good idea and a partnership with Lehigh County sounds even better.
According to Baratta, many smaller counties do not, but counties the size of NorCo do. We know Lehigh no longer has a CAC. Thi
Would you be kind enough to provide a little more information concerning this?
Won't Soros-light Baratta simply release the abusers with hand slaps?
Aww, remember when he used that against Houck and said he’d handle it right away?

@ 10:53. True. And Houck already did all the “heavy lifting” before Barratta took over. Then he promptly dropped the ball until now. And apparently now taking the credit. What a gem he’s turned out to be.
Wasn’t this explored before in Northampton County with little enthusiasm from the judiciary?
Houck accomplished nothing.
Okay JM
Agree with above statement. Why now and not then?
