Is this a mock-up you created, Bernie? If so, well done. I believe one prominent name is missing: William Reynolds. It isn’t unusual for party bigwigs to support candidates, but perhaps this is a cautionary tale that when a loon is the candidate, it is best to remain neutral. Shame on Uncle Phil because he certainly knew her character.

Bernie, I didn't see his name on the list of endorsements that you published, ergo my thoughts. I apologize if the info was published elsewhere and I didn't see it. As for the "nice lady" remark, I don't recall that, but it sounds like what I might say about a lot of people whom I don't know well, but have had a friendly experience with.
You can find examples of this where both parties rally around grossly unqualified applicants. There is a Republican judge who also came out of Lehigh County who does not have a legal background. No legal. No law enforcement. Just.... good politics I guess?
Of all the areas the parties are charged with recruiting, cultivating, and electing candidates, judicial races in one party strongholds demonstrate we don't always get the best people. The parties need to own this. Zanelli was supported cause she was a good "politcians" and Republicans are not viable in that district. So there wasn't a check. Literally everything coming out now reflects behavior that most people knew about for years. So shame on some people on this list in particular who absolutely knew better.
Again to your point Bernie, party establishments are very quick to close ranks around these bad candidates mostly because of politics. They treat judicial races like any other partisan contest. These unqualified candidates tend to be good politicians. Good politicians do not make good judges. The bar should be higher for judges.
These positions shouldn't be successful "politicians" with no relevant experience or background. The worse of the bunch are the politicians unemployable in the real world just looking for a job. That's probably a good description of Zanelli.
