Denmarkification. That's how a group of Denmark citizens are describing a movement to purchase California from the United States. They believe it's time to "Måke Califørnia Great Ægain." Why, for one thing, they want to trade in rain boots for 300 days of sun in flip flops. They think Donald Trump might sell, too, since he has called it the "most ruined state in the union."
If successful, initial plans include re-naming Disneyland to Hans Christian Andersonland. They need just 200,000 kroner from every Dane.

Something's rotten in Denmark! Sorry- couldn't resist. LOL
Could be the best deal Trump could ever make getting rid of California Just think Denmark gets Pelosi, Schiff, Newsum Waters, and many others.,
Sell it as soon as possible Will be great move for the United states.
Sell it get rid of a lot of left wing lunatics.
We should trade them California for Greenland. Win! Win!
No one wants it after newsom and his ilk ruined the place
What an excellent idea. Jettisoning a deep blue political sewer is great for the United States. We don't need the deep blue sewer that is Canada, either. Actual Americans are leaving California for Texas and Florida. That's a good thing.
They would all have to wear masks and be supplied with barf bags because of the liberal stench.
The Danes were offered Norco but they said nej helvede, we are not that skor
If Denmark buys California, I'm moving there! I'd love universal healthcare, a focus on work/ life balance, a strong sense of equality and being part of a place that's marked the happiest countries on earth. The US is moving backward towards racism and hate, and it's definitely NOT the happiest place on Earth with our new dictator Elon and First Lady Trump.
They want to buy a left wing sanctuary state? I'll donate!
Are you not saying California is ruined? They are in debt and people are fleeing in droves. If liberalism is so great why are these two things happening? Receipts below

Sounds like a good idea to me. Then the rest of the country would not have to deal with the financial/social craziness of that state. How can I support Denmark in this endeavor? Did anyone say, "pig in a poke?"
And throw in Oregon & Washington for free!
The reality is Denmark and all its assets does not have enough money to buy anything.

Anyway, to be fair, we should only include the coastal areas. We'll keep the sane parts. Maybe to sweeten the offer (art of the deal), we'd throw in the coastal areas of OR & WA. I'd be tempted to throw in NYC, but the financial district is too valuable.
It’s always fun to read comments from the locals, who have never been to California, criticizing it from their darkened room where only the light from Fox tv news brightens their day. Really, get out and see the world.
They dropped the plan when they heard BO was moving there.
8:51 You know what happens when we ASSume. Of course in this case, only the first part of the next part applies.
It may surprise you to learn that California pays $83B more in taxes to the federal government than it receives. It's not a net drain on the country, unlike certain other states.
California is an economic juggernaut in technology, finance, agriculture, defense, aerospace, et al. Yeah, it's got lots of loonies, but it's really the backbone of the U.S. economy and, at that, one of the most important and powerful economies on the planet; GDP bigger than all but about five countries. People who think we should ditch it are idiots.
Not a good idea. There's a reason that Harry Bōlz relocated his business to Texas. Walmart should buy Denmark and rename it Denmarkdown.
Maybe you want to do more research before you get rid of it.
Great, California is the 5th largest economy in the world and you all want to give (sell) it away. Brainless!
California has the highest poverty rate in the country;

I have family there. I visit every year. Liberals have literally ruined paradise there.
Is this going to be a daily anti Trump blog now? Local politics please.
Why are liberals such snobs? How do you know where us unwashed locals have been?
So much for being better, which lasted only 1 day for you. What a silly post- par for the course for you. As far as an important foreign policy issue, Trump is getting hostages released- the latest being teacher Marc Fogel, who was captured around the same time as Brittney Granier- and on the same charges. But he's not a DEI hostage, so he languished in a prison for 4 years. Every world leader is at attention now- no more abusing the U.S.
California, the most beautiful state in the Union, has unfortunately been destroyed by failed, horrific, politicians. That said, please keep it local, rather than a bashing Trump blog.
The democrats do not want to stop the fraud and foolish spending anybody who votes for any democrats has mental issues and hates the American people GO TRUMP MUSK AND THE WHOLE DOGE TEAM INCLUDING BIG BALLS
2:38 - California's $4T GSP is more than Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Florida COMBINED and almost as much as Texas and New York COMBINED. 15% of the US GDP is California and as was pointed out earlier, the essential industries like aerospace, defense, technology, agriculture abound in the state. California is as vital to the US as the blood in your body. You are correct; some people are brainless.
If they wait long enough, it will slide off into the ocean.
He didn't check all the boxes- the basketball player did!
Stop watching MSDNC, and you might learn something.
Trump got 10 hostages released in 3 weeks, more to come!
And we didn't give anything up for his relief. Unlike when Brittney Graneir was released, we had to give back the "Merchant of Death."
Liberals literally ruined paradise. Sad.
Citation?
Get to work, you greedy, lazy bum!
The TDS drumbeat worked so well last year. I enjoy the crying. It reads like a resounding victory.
PA used to be an important state. Now, it's a model of decline. Times change. CA's major exports are industries and people. It's big. But it's also a big mess. I used to live in Sacramento and San Diego. I still travel there when forced by my job. The geography and climate are great. Nothing else is, though.
My favorite state, but I don't recognize it anymore- its been ruined after years of incompetent leaders.
Actually you are right. Dems don’t want the MAGAS to stop lying and stealing, the over sprayed man’s followers are setting themselves up for failure.
coastal areas ... so you're going to give up the ports? might want to do a little more homework
8:51 you're absolutely correct.
2:49 keep blaming everything on one side... do you really think the conservatives have done nothing wrong? The world is not black & white... a lot of grey in between, the media and social media's algorithms have siloed us which is why things are so artificially divided.

California is the second least reliant on federal money on a percentage basis.
If you like fresh fruits & vegetables --- good luck without California, Mexico, Central America & Florida.
AND if you like your computer or other electronic devices, clothing & most of the cheap stuff we consume from Asia --- good luck without California's ports.
If you want to live in the past --- buy a large tract of land somewhere and become a homesteader, but in reality you will need goods, services & medical care from outside your "bubble" in that scenario as well.
your depth of knowledge is very shallow
Your federal taxes and costs of living (especially food) would go up if California was no longer part of the US. Isolationism = Russia or N Korea -- visit those places and tell me what you think.
you'll be crying when costs continue to rise, there's no rule of law, your retirement vanishes, we're living under a dictatorship & the top .01% control everything because the Rs have rolled over!
Thanks Republican Supreme Court and the Citizens United vs FEC ruling
