Northampton County, Slate Belt Rising and East Bangor Municipal Authority (EBMA) have formed a partnership to offer free safety assessments of the interior water lines of any EBMA customers. According to Executive Lamont McClure,"[L]ead exposure has been shown harmful to very young children and has been linked to affect brain development, contribute to learning-behavioral problems and lower IQs."
If lead is detected in any homes, a licensed plumber will be hired to replace fixtures at no cost to the owner.
A notice of eligibility letter will be sent directly to the homes of residents in the East Bangor Municipal Authority service area. Walk-in application assistance is available on Wednesday – Friday from 8 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the Bangor Borough Building (197 Pennsylvania Avenue, Bangor, PA 18013).
According to a Northampton County statement, it plans to expand this program to other areas in the County.

In children, symptoms include Developmental delay, Learning difficulties, Irritability, Loss of appetite, Weight loss, Sluggishness and fatigue, Abdominal pain, Vomiting, Constipation, Hearing loss, Seizures and Eating things, such as paint chips, that aren't food. In adults, symptoms include High blood pressure, Joint and muscle pain, Difficulties with memory or concentration, Headache, Abdominal pain, Mood disorders, Reduced sperm count and abnormal sperm and Miscarriage, stillbirth or premature birth in pregnant women.
I havemost of those symptoms myself right now. There must have been lead in my Thanksgiving dinner.

Did he bother to discuss the program before making another I am the emperor public speech? He wings things and then wants to guilt council into agreeing with him. How much will it cost? What is the Norco share?
This is what we have been told how he operates. No ability to work with people, just about his publicity. How about serious consideration of all the REAL vacancies in th county.
McClure is th reason county council will vote for a Home Rule Study commission.
Yes, County Council has received several presentations, supports lead remediation and has appropriated money for it. It does want to remove some $ appropriated in next year's budget bc it may exceed what is in the pipeline, so to speak.
Could this be why there seems to be a disproportionate amount of auto accidents in the Bangor area?
