Happy News From NorCo Courthouse
Courthouses are rarely happy places, especially during criminal week. But the recent sight of four young children, dressed in their Sunday best and running and laughing outside the rotunda, brought smiles to Deputy Sheriffs and courthouse visitors alike. They were at the courthouse for a good reason. They had just been adopted.
Twin bothers Jayden and Ricardo Rivera, age 6, were sporting summer hats, dress shirts and vests. After spending 1,837 days in foster care, they are now the sons of Carmen and Ricardo Rivera. They're both looking forward to first grade, and Jayden admitted he's a ball player.
Ruby Saylor, age 3, and Maya Saylor, age 5, in beautiful dresses and with their hair carefully braided and bowed, are now the daughters of Kristin and Richard Saylor. They were unable to describe their future plans because they were too busy stealing the boys' hats.
