Washington's Journalists Think They Are Hollywood Stars

On Friday night, I sallied forth from the foothills of Nazareth to the Slate Belt highlands to hear all kinds of people driving big-ass SUVs and trucks complain that a possible data center proposed in Upper Bethel Tp will ruin the environment. I'll have more about that later but wanted to write about something else first. Before leaving, I watched the beginning moments of the White House Correspondents' Dinner and saw numerous people who I had supposed were journalists posing for photos in tuxedos and fancy gowns on some makeshift red carpet as though they were Hollywood stars. Women's Wear Daily actually had photos of people who certainly seem to be a more than a bit out of touch with the real world.

Since that time, I've seen numerous stories poking President Trump because he insulted the press, which presidents are expected to do when they attend these fancy galas. I've seen others claiming that his jokes fell flat during his rambling and lengthy exhortation. I don't know how they could stay awake.

The whole thing disgusts me. It's a given that I find Trump is a boor, and that's putting it gently. But what really offends me is that the reporters who supposedly exist to speak truth to power instead cozy up to and are in an incestuous relationship with it.

You want to have a dinner to pat yourselves on the back? Knock yourselves out. But drop the tuxes and gowns. Stop acting like celebrities with agents who negotiate your contracts and start acting like reporters. Instead of braying about Epstein every five seconds, start covering the very obvious corruption going on inside the Beltway cesspool.

I think Trump's disastrous presidency is a big story. But the incompetence of the Washington press establishment appears to be a bigger story. Instead of covering the actual stories, they are too busy playing tit for tat with Trump.

Freedom of the press? What press?

You waited until now to gripe about this? You could have started with any President since the dinner was initiated. Good observations; you are absolutely correct about their failures as “reporters.” They wouldn’t know what a follow-up question was if it bit them in the arse.

What do you expect from the fake news.

It's all fun and games until a Republican is cracking the jokes. That's when it's time to be an old scold.

“Instead of covering the actual stories…”

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! That’s a good one.

The list of Democrat hoaxes created and amplified by the main stream ”press” is too long to print, as are the stories they ignore because it might harm the democrats.

I’d love to have had them skip the dinner to honestly cover stories like the fraud in Minnesota and California, or the growing evidence of illegals on our voting rolls. For just ONE day.

But the only thing they seem to understand about covering those type of stories is that they need to keep covering them up.

The President should have trolled MSM with the Thursday night speech MSM chose to not air!

Ah, I see you woke up all the Lehigh Valley ignorant, knuckle-dragging, MAGA trolls, Bernie. Well done!

Anymore, these folks have to feed the clickbait monster. I've found you can simply write an article about your issue and there are "journalists" that will be happy to publish it almost verbatim.
I've also seen plenty of recycling of content with a bit of local color sprinkled in to make it applicable for the area. This is the most concerning part where misinformation is recycled and is finally picked up by executive agencies and politicians. I met with a deputy secretary of an executive agency in the mid-Atlantic. She was repeating almost word for word the misinformation that was placed in the press by a Non-Government Organization (NGO). When pressed for her source she couldn't provide one. Had to literally show her the data from her own department to correct her belief.
Just remember the source and how those folks make a living. If you're an NGO relying on 80%+ of your revenue coming in from donations, never let a good crisis go to waste! Get people scared and get them to open their wallets, facts be damned.

Who needs reporters when all you need to do is read and watch the 1,000 posts on Truth Social from Trump starting yesterday morning. 🙄🙄🙄

These are the same correspondents that for 4 years, told us that Biden "was on top of his game." Anyone with 2 eyes and a brain could see that they were lying to us!

The most tragic loss of our lifetimes is the loss of a sense of humor by social democrats. Just sit there and scowl through your double paper mask, skippy. Put down the EBT card. I'm giving you 15 days to flatten your belly.

Read the Fauci diary. He was wining and dining with all of them and bragging about how popular he was. The clown is a regular clown.

I don't know, the story of the our current president raping a 13 yr. old girl when he was 48 yrs old seems like something to "bray" about, especially when we still haven't access to the files which the court's already agreed we should've had access to. Although I do think that the more they bray about the Epstein files the crazier we can expect our very nervous prez to divert the news to more wars, tariffs, DEI bs, etc, etc so he isn't removed from office and jailed in disgrace.
