'Let the games begin!'
In line with the most hedonistic traditions of ancient Rome, President Donald Trump is planning a UFC cage match on the White House south lawn for June 14, which is both Flag Day and his 80th birthday.
"We who are about to die salute you!"
In ancient Rome, the unwashed masses at least were able to attend gladiatorial events for free at a stadium that seated 100,000 people. But if you want a ringside seat at this tacky spectacle, it will cost you between $1 and $1.5 million. The rest of you can watch via Paramount.
NorCo Exec Tara Zrinski herself alluded to this at Thursday night's County Council meeting. America 250 is "really not about, you know, concerts at the White House or, you know, boxing rings or whatever they're called. What is that, in an MA thing? Yeah. We're not putting one of those on our lawn."

13 years of free education and this is the best she can do. Shouldn't we expect a modicum of communication skills? It's no wonder she can't speak sentences without ChatGPT tutoring her. Voting for imbeciles has a cost.
But employees in the courthouse get cupcakes!!!!! " let them eat cake"
The event at the White House is free to all members of the military. It’s a once and done event not being paid for by taxpayer dollars. Calm down, everyone.
Most of the 4,000-5,000 tickets to watch the event at the White House will be given away to junior enlisted and junior officer service members. Another 85,000 will be given away to watch the event on a big screen at a nearby park.
It’s amazing how far people will go to make something out of nothing.
BTW, all our cities already have modern day Colosseums. Many poorly-run cities (mostly democrat-run) have seen their stadiums and sports teams move outside democrat-controlled limits.
So this actually seems like a nice attempt to bring such residents a taste of what the democrats have lost for them.
If only people actually cared about what Tara thinks as much as she thinks they care. No one does because there is not one bright idea that comes from her own thoughts. It didn’t take residents long to figure it out. It’s only June (sigh). Her apparent dislike of Donald Trump is disturbing.
Except for one thing. In 1976, big county parade in Easton, multi volume books on the history of the county. Major Reenactment in Easton Center Square. With rebuilt courthouse. 2026, nothing! Not even free ice cream. At least a Roman athletic event would be something.
