The turnout in this year's municipal race is expected to be light. This post exists so that you can report any problems you experience when voting in person. If you have any problems with the machines, or notice that machines are not operating properly, please share that information, stating both the location and time of your problem. If you experience improper influence inside the polling place, please share. Hopefully, all goes well.
1:20 PM UPDATE: So far, reports have been positive. One Easton voter called me to state that she used the machine to select 4 of the 5 Democrats running for County Council, excepting Nadeem Qayyum. But when she prepared to cast her ballot, she noticed the light for the Republican candidate (Juan Martinez) on the opposite side of Nadeem was lit up. She went back and eventually got it right but is concerned that other voters may not notice this issue. She wonders if the machine gets glitchy when it gets moved. She contacted the elections office.
4:30 PM UPDATE: I have visited five precincts in my area and have been told turnout is good for an off-year election. Nobody reported any trouble with the machines. Moreover, there have been no complaints in court of which I am aware.

we already know some of the Northampton County ballots are confusing.
Yes. But just remember, this ballot issue is just one TINY example of problems with our expanded mail-in voting system. Included are the machines, out of date voter roll books, ballot designs, and drop-off ballot options. Not to mention, a seriously under-trained and under-manned processing staff.
Yes, despite seemingly minor incidents in little Northampton County, PA, a similar list of problems is found in thousands of other voting districts nationwide. Also remember, some races will be decided by a very small number of votes. Often less than 100 votes between the winner and loser.
So, when you hear someone claim our American elections are subject to error and FRAUD . . . . believe them, they ARE !
Our expanded American voting system was rushed unto place and in some aspects is still not ready for primetime, unfortunately.
I agree- King Tom Wolf, aided by Covid & stupid Republicans created this mess we're in. Voter I.D. & paper ballots only will stop this mess.
Got a call this morning from a friend in Reading, PA (Berks County). He said there is confusion about this issue down there, too.
Voted at the hills of lockeridge, smooth process, no issues, in and out in 10 minutes
Fear monger much. Funny how most stories discussing charges of fraud in elections were usually R supporters or leaders committing the fraud.. lol
You people are insane
"There is no problems with our elections and if there is, its the Republicans fault"
- some partisan hack blowhard.
Anyone who thinks our elections are anything but problematic and vulnerable doesn't have an opinion of their own. Just repeating approved opinions from their party or the media.
Lots of people voting in northampton county. Smooth process
Mails in voting has been around forever! My grandmother in Carbon county voted by mail in ballot for decades before she passed 20 years ago! I’ve done it myself a few times when traveling on Election Day. Of course its use is growing as the boomers are getting older. Mail in voting is under attack simply because certain people assume mail in voters, on average, vote different than they do.
Thanks. Good to hear.
That's just it, 11:59AM. The "winning" party denies there was any fraud. They don't even want to discuss the possibility. Because, they really can't. Most just keep their mouth shut, smiling on the inside,
that's not true- I'm for mail-ins as long as the process is followed and the voter rolls are updated
quite heavy with no problems at my polling place
13.5 percent in West Side Bethlehem at 12:37 pm. Smooth Lehigh voting. Average voting in off year municipals is about 30 percent.
Very busy in Lehigh but no problems
I sent my ballot in two weeks ago. Very secure system, of course, with Republicans having created the safety procedures. We have to request a ballot every year, and emails are sent when the ballot is sent, when the ballot is received, and after the ballot is counted. Mail-in ballots are the way to go. I don't need to stand in line after using gas, and tell everyone there how patriotic I am because I followed the orange ghoul's proven-to-be false allegations of improprities.
In like the convenience but we need to make sure that the right ballots are being sent. I'd suggest that before it is placed inside the envelope for mailing to the voter, a second pollworker should ensure that it is the correct ballot. Mistakes will happen, but we need to minimize them.
Traffic challenges on Oakland Rd in front of voting facility, replacing numerous telephone poles, one way traffic conditions. Ya think they would have waited a day?
Chester County experiencing county-wide poll book outage.
We voted early, Pen Argyl Ward 2. When we got there, doors were locked! (7:40 ish) Thankfully there is a doorbell, and upon ringing it, one of the poll workers came out promptly. Never had this happen in many years of voting!
I agree 100%, since 2 sets of eyes are better than 1
1:08PM - ANNOUNCED as false and " proven" to be false are two entirely different outcomes. Apparently you don't understand the difference. But, you did manage to get in a childlike insult, so that's something I guess.
West Side Bethlehem again - 20% at 3:50 pm. Smooth.
Chester County reported massive problem with poll books found not to have included third party registrants. More than 75,000 voters, mostly registered as Independent (like me) and Not Affiliated now must submit provisional ballots.
This is disappointing stuff, folks.
the guy's an idiot, so he wouldn't know the difference, then off course, they always have to resort "orange man bad!"
I'll give you a few bucks for gas you cheap bastard
4:29, Be nice. I visited five precincts today and did not need any gas. I rode my bike, lol, although the wind is tough today. I don't know why some of you think it is unpatriotic to vote by mail. For some of you, it is pure virtue signaling. "Look at me! I'm standing in line seven hours to vote and I refuse to take water from anyone because I'm a real American."
I do think we are rushing things, though. We should probably drop the satellite offices until we're sure we have everything right with MIBs and Ballot by Demand. That has to take a big toll on the elections office.
Busy when I got to my polling place at church in Forks Township at noon and friend who assists at polls said busy right from the start. She had heard nothing about the cross filing issue but then she said she was never informed when there was that snafu with the discrepancy between screen and printout in the past.
Yes, the poll books do not include third party or independents.
Voted in west Allentown, steady stream of voters. Zucal was being represented by former park basketball tournament organizer Glen Klein, and then the candidate himself showed up.
Thanks Michael.
Although i live in Lehigh County, i just recieved a phone call that the is a problem with the identification on my mail in ballot in Montgomery County. Not sure what kind of idenfication is amiss, as there is really none on a mail in balllot. To resolve the problem i should go to my polling place and bring my ID. If i have a problem call back at a certain number i wont disclose but if i have questions call the volunteer back at her number. And she went on to tell me to yes vote for these democratic candidates. Its a bit concerning she had a close version of my name (e.g. William vs. Bill), wrong address, but correct land line and cell phone number. Election manipulation? I have to stay getting a fishing license in PA the need my SS#. To buy a bottle of wine at Giant, they need my driver ID.
Well, at least independent Chester County voters can't blame Lamont - there's enough smack talk flying around here already. Their votes will be counted, it just may take several days to do it. There is a website where voters can verify when their ballots are ultimately processed.
Only problem I'm hearing is the statewide election being stolen in Chester County where 75,000 Independents were excluded from poll books. What's the redress? That's a stunning number and enough to decide very important judicial retention outcomes.
The polls as I said earlier were good. The tough part living here is voting and it never matters much as the democrats have the majority. Seeing virginia new jersey and new York is actually heartbreaking... shocking especially in new York. Never forget .. . Appears they have
I remember the horrors of 9/11 like it was yesterday. We used to feel exceptional; now we feel exclusive and are heading towards isolation due to hate and fear. Let's work together instead of against each other.
I. Also will never forget. And I agree with you and hope we can.
