Following the Money: Zrinski Spent $86k in Dem NorCo Exec Primary; GOP Giovanni

Northampton County Controller Tara Zrinski was able to beat Amy Cozze for the Democratic nomination as NorCo Exec in the May primary. She garnered 56.78% of the vote, beating Cozze by over 3,000 votes. But she spent a lot of money doing so.  According to her pre- and post-primary reports, she spent $86,273.72, relied on $35,000 in in-kind contributions. She's also over $13,000 in debt.

She enters the general election against Republican Tom Giovanni with just $4,327.15 and a donor base that might very well be tapped out.

In addition to waging a negative campaign that gave Giovanni lots of ammunition, Amy Cozze forced Zrinski and many of her supporters to spend money they may be unable to provide in the general election.

Unlike Zrinski, Giovanni had no primary opponent. He was able to coast and has $4,929.21 in his treasury.

Debt or no debt, who cares. Zrinski is a much more recognized name in the more heavily populated parts of the L.V. She's going to clean Giovanni's clock in November. It's going to be an epic smackdown.

Wow! You can't wage a 'negative campaign' if you don't have the ammunition. Zirinski has plenty of ammunition. If you didn't' now love Zirinski and hate Cozze, you would call it 'informational' campaigning.
With all the money Zirinski raised to run for the multiple offices over a short span of years, she may have plenty of cash. Her books may show a debt but frankly someone should audit her campaign cash. Ask Barron or another fiscal person in her camp. Were you at her Easton big time fund raiser last night?

Some politicians are good people. Some are bad people. Like most people. All go out of their way not to look like a bad person. Cozy is a terrible person, and goes out of her way to prove it.

Cozze’s candidacy was the brain child of noted political genius Sue Wild. The same Sue Wild whose strategy may saddle us with a little Pat Toomey for a generation. Mackenzie is in his early 40’s. Carol Obabdo Derstine could fumble the ball in a highly winnable District.

TZ doesn't need much money to beat TG. His loss will be a major embarrassment

This is what I fear. She shouldn’t be allowed to run a taco stand never mind a county.

The “loss” will be to the residents of Northampton County if TZ is elected. It will be McClure 2.0 including the in-place puppets she’d inherit.

Well, Lamont is departing saying no tax increase,
Yet, TZ has not discussed how and what funding
Ideas or programs she will support to keep Gracedale financially solvent and avert tax increase.

Zrinski has run for six offices in five years. She’s one of those candidates chosen to hide the mess of a predecessor. Not certain how a “lecturer “ can be our next county executive. Imagine she’ll bring her bullhorn to meetings. Vote Giovanni. If she wins, it’ll be the downfall of Northampton County.

Northampton County doesn’t need a radical leftist woke democrat, just like NYC doesn’t need a communist, antisemitic mayor.

Well you’re right on one point, she has name recognition in the Lehigh Valley. Only because she ran for every position possible in order to take a ride on the taxpayer

Add Trump to that list

86000. Thats probably why tara people can't find where that 3 million went. That's just a little change. Win and debt will disappear.
